When first meeting Miyuki, one would notice that she is rather welcoming towards strangers. Displaying a relaxed and warm disposition that often causes others to gravitate towards her, she is friendly enough in her pleasantries that she can be considered a social butterfly with the way she’s able to effortlessly string together conversations. With her humor, though crude at times, Miyuki can easily become the center of attention with how magnetic she allows herself to be.

Despite this, there is a certain limit to how close to allow you before you hit a wall Miyuki herself has put on. While one can say that she loves the company of others, Miyuki herself has trouble letting people know more than what she presents herself as. Because of things she’s done before she joined the agency, Miyuki is left with a sense of shame about herself as a person and fears that she will be met with disgust if she were to reveal this. As such she often becomes heavily guarded when asked about her past occupation, why she came to the agency, and especially about the scar running across her shoulder blades. If pressed enough, Miyuki will lose her composure though that in itself is very rare.

Though she doesn’t outwardly show it, Miyuki is very insecure over her past deeds and her moral standpoint as a person. As she was the type with a strong taste for justice Miyuki slowly began to find herself questioning such things during her time with the guardians as to who was she to decide what was right and what was wrong. She will admit that she was extremely narrow minded before coming to the agency and even during her first few weeks but over time she has learned to be more open minded with the things that are presented to her. However old habits die hard as she sometimes finds herself falling into old patterns when it comes to certain situations.

Ironically enough, while Miyuki tends to keep others at arms length she does have a sense of curiosity in regards to knowing others, though it’s unclear if it’s genuine or if it’s based on the desire to simply keep tabs. She is by no means intrusive as she dislikes noisy people but she is good at getting people to talk due to her charming nature. The woman tends to find joy in those she can truly let her guard down with those she fully trusts and displays a much more cheerful and easygoing nature. When Miyuki’s loyalty is earned by someone she tends to take great care of them and grows almost protective. This can be seen with the members of the agency and especially with the younger ones.

While she is serious when need be, Miyuki isn’t uptight when it comes to getting things done and prefers doing things at her own pace. It’s hard for her to be shaken as she’s rather calm in even the most stressful situations and even if she’s thrown off, she hides it well. Miyuki is well aware that her emotions can be used against her. Naturally perceptive of others to the point of coming off as paranoid, Miyuki keenly observes her surroundings as a means to have control of whatever happens to her. She is someone that needs to have a firm understanding of everything that concerns her. It’s extremely rare for her to let herself be left in the dark as that shows a huge amount of trust she would need to have in one person. Overall Miyuki is someone who is simply trying to become better than she was. Originally stubborn in her morals and beliefs, Miyuki is slowly losing that black and white view of the world thanks to being hit with a dose of reality. She’s ambitious in trying to do what she believes is right but she is no longer aggressive in doing so as she knows that ‘what’s right’ varies from person to person.

Starting from when she was young, Miyuki has always had an almost strange fixation with the concept of justice. As she was the daughter of two well known figures of the police force, Miyuki witnessed first hand how terrifying the world truly was and that the concept of right and wrong was clearly defined in her eyes. Her ideology of the world developed rather quickly as she watched her parents and their work, listening to their stories. There were things in this world that were wrong to the female and Miyuki simply wanted to make it better for herself and those around her.

Following in her parents footsteps, Miyuki decided to become a police officer as that was the only way she properly executed her ideals. Her way of thinking could almost be considered twisted with the fact it bleed into her work and this part of her worried her fellow officers. As such she was paired off with her senior Chikako Ishizu. Their difference in personality and thinking led to a tense first meeting as Chikako harped on her whenever she went too far and the younger woman often snapped back for her interference in her affairs. The older female only earns her respect when she puts her in her place concerning her ideals by sharing her own over drinks. Learning that it was ok to have a certain thinking but still be open to things that could change your thinking made her reflect on her current outlook. From there Miyuki slightly calmed down though her goals never shifted.

Miyuki would find her views challenged when assigned a particular case. Because she was a fresh face in the force, the female was tasked with infiltrating a growing vigilante group calling themselves “The Guardians”. Chikako immediately protested this decision, stating it was too dangerous for her due to lack of experience as her superior knew that all the agents they sent never came back alive. It was immediately argued by Miyuki that it would be the best option because of her lack of time on the force, making it so they wouldn’t recognize her face therefore making it easier to infiltrate. Knowing that her reasoning was correct, Chikako backed down with one warning to Miyuki.

Don’t fall too deep into your role.

Taking on the alias Junko Aoki, she went about getting the attention of the group by doing what appealed to the most. Acts of rebellion. As the group says they focused primarily on change, Miyuki went about doing so much to her discomfort. Feeding ideals and unrest among those who showed it, leaving messages for all to see that supported an idealistic view, Miyuki did all she could to appear on their radar. It was a slow process that spanned weeks and just as the female was beginning to grow weary of waiting, Miyuki found herself being approached by a young looking man late at night during one of her rounds of gathering intel of the group from those that heard of them. Introducing themselves as Koichi, Miyuki couldn’t help the feeling of unease that washed over her as he offered to get her a drink. Of course she accepted and what started off as idle chatter soon bled into what Koichi really singled her out for.

“Do you want to change the world?”

Playing coy, Miyuki questioned why he would ask her something so outlandish and was rewarded with an almost devious smile. Koichi explained that her name was floating around as the source of stirring up unrest among the people and had garnered his interest. She was quick in asking him what that had to with him and Koichi was even quicker in his reply. An invitation to the one group she was desperately searching for. Saying that he was a member and knew the leader quite well, he extended an offer for her to join them as their goals seemed to align with each other. Knowing not to accept so easily as to avoid rousing any type of suspicion, Miyuki went with the excuse of needing time to think it over, being given a meeting place and date in return that served as a time limit. As expected Miyuki showed up when told and Koichi welcomed her. As per their tradition, Miyuki was branded with their symbol; a tattoo of a pair of angel wings on her shoulder blades.

From there her role was small. Miyuki expected as much, she was new and could tell that some didn’t trust her. Forced into menial tasks that her as a lap dog than anything, Miyuki only began to rise in rank when she pointed out a flaw in one of their plans; an obvious trap that they were trying to be lured into by the police and a more efficient route to take in order to avoid that. Quite impressed with her knowledge of the inner workings of the city, Miyuki was soon tasked with handling their planning alongside Koichi. While there was discomfort at the idea, Miyuki did as she was told and found herself establishing a good partnership with Koichi thanks to her tactical thinking and his ability to execute it.

Because they were together so often, Miyuki found herself curious as to why he was doing this in the first place. So, she asked and his answer surprised her.

“Because this world is wrong.”

Listening quietly to his reasoning; corruption, bad apples, power imbalance, the female couldn’t help but find herself agreeing with him. His views match her own and it scared her. Nevertheless, she followed up with the assumption that it was the reason he joined which was corrected with a simple sentence. Koichi was the leader himself, and he liked the thought of her being his right hand man. Not really given the option to refuse, Miyuki accepted it and slowly watched the group influence spread throughout the city. While her position allowed her to gather more useful information to bring back to Chikako, the female found herself slowly agreeing with the change Koichi wanted to bring. Her ideals aligned with his own and his vision of the future was something she herself wanted to see, unnerving her greatly. And it made her question herself.

Were her ideals and views wrong?

Between relaying info back to Chikako and figuring out her own moral standpoint, Miyuki found herself getting caught up in Koichi’s plans which were slowly becoming more and more dangerous. While in the beginning their plan’s could almost be seen as charitable; stealing food for those in the slums, bringing awareness to those in power that were corrupt, cleaning up criminals who managed to evade the law. However Koichi wanted to do something more daring, something so big that it couldn’t be brushed under the rug, it would force itself to be seen by the public. And in his mind, nothing would work better than the assination of a well known figure.

Of course Miyuki protested this, not only because of the fact that she was a member of the force and couldn’t bring herself to kill a civilian no matter how corrupted, it was also due to the fact that it would be too dangerous, regardless of the size of the group. A government figure always has protection around them. At this Koichi simply waved her off and she began to protest again until she was cut off, her mouth closed on it’s own. Laughing at her panicked expression, Koichi explained that it was his ability; with his body able to create a thread like substance that is hard to catch with the naked eye, the male can do it for one of two things. A way to be aware of his surroundings and to control someone like a puppet dependent on the limbs his threads are touching. With this he was more than confident to see his plan executed without fail and Miyuki knew that if she protested any more he would only grow suspicious. With that, she did the only thing she could think of and instead informed Chikako of the plan so they could prepare to stop it.

As she expected, Chikako had managed to send a rather large number of people to provide security. At the male’s question on how they managed to prepare so quickly, Miyuki quickly deflected with the fact that because they had been in the public’s eye for the last few weeks, they must have figured the group would target them. Seemingly believing her excuse, the male stated it wouldn’t be a problem and at her inquiry on if they should hold off, his answer chilled her to the bone.

“There’s just going to be a few more bodies, that’s all.”

Miyuki found that to be an understatement as she watched the male tactfully get rid of anyone that possessed a threat to him, killing them before they could get the word out before making sure she was following along. Trying not to let her face betray her, Miyuki subdued those she came across while Koichi wasn’t paying attention to her, apologizing to her fellow officers while doing so. There wasn’t much she could do in her current situation; it was important that she kept her cover and the fact that she was powerless to do anything at all left a bitter taste in her mouth. As if noticing her off behavior, Koichi called her to him and the woman was met with the sight of the bloody and beaten government official barely hanging onto consciousness, bodies of her own co workers slain on the floor. It filled her with dread, even more so at the fact that she was recognized by the person before her, a plea clear in their eyes that asked her to help them. Everything within her told her to abandon her role and subdue Koichi right then and there, however a part of her, a small bit within her, posed a question that she herself wished she didn’t have. Would it be wrong for them to die? Despite the fact that she was a part of the force, Miyuki knew of the controversies they were a part of and that their views were not something she agreed with. It could be argued that they were a bad person, but who was Miyuki to play the role of the executioner?

“We need to send a message Junko.”

Spurred from her thoughts from the off handed comment, Miyuki looked to her partner and took in his almost gleeful expression as he continued. “That a change is coming. And what better way than to take out one of the figureheads that stand for ‘tradition’.” Something cold was pressed into her hands and she paled. Koichi wanted her to kill them. Of course she couldn’t do this; Miyuki was willing to grit her teeth and do a lot but murder wasn’t one of them. But she was being tested by this man, that much she knew. Miyuki was left without a choice. Taking aim in order to allow a quick death, Miyuki was quickly stopped by the sound of a rather sharp voice that she knew too well.

Catching her attention was her friend Kunihiko Shimizu, looking at her as if she herself was the criminal before saying one thing. ‘Don’t do this’. At this Miyuki found herself facing a problem. Did she listen to her friend or kill this one person, hopefully preventing the death of more lives? Before Koichi could notice her hesitation, Miyuki shot the official point blank before turning the gun on Kunihiko. Shooting without the intent to kill, Miyuki left with the sound of Koichi’s praise being muddled with Kunihiko cursing her name. From there, the female would simply go along with Koichi, the belief that she was doing so in order to prevent more deaths keeping her from losing herself to guilt. It was only with Koichi announcing that his next plan was something akin to anarchy made her realize that she had reached her breaking point. Reporting back to Chikako about this development, Miyuki admitted that she couldn’t play the role of a spy anymore; her morals were becoming blurred and she couldn’t deal with the guilt that was eating away at her due to what she had done. Chikako is rather understanding of her feelings as she didn’t want her to take on this case anyway and tells her to just head home, tomorrow they’ll finally finish this. Feeling relieved at her words, Miyuki returned to the sight of Koichi on her doorstep. Unnerved as she never revealed where she lived, the female asked what he was doing here. Laughing at her guarded expression, Koichi simply said he wanted to go over some strategies.

“Is always good to be prepared, isn’t it Junko? Or should I say Miyuki?

Before she could react, the male had her frozen in place with his ability. Commenting on the fact that the police never seem to learn when it came to sending moles, he does compliment her on the fact that she lasted much longer than her peers. When asked how he figured her out, he laughed stating that he always researches his members and it was suspicious how she suddenly appeared out of nowhere, his latest plan being a bait to lure her into a trap . He admits that it was a shame, their ideals were the same in terms of their views of the world and he was rather fond of her which made her skin crawl. Koichi then went about learning how much information was relayed through unsavory methods, starting with burning the wings on her back.

Miyuki would eventually be tracked down by Chikako once the latter found her home empty the next day. Bringing a sizable number of officers with her, they promptly raided the base once they found their location with the woman going straight for Koichi. Enraged by the sight of her friend battered and bloody. The woman was quick in engaging the male but due the steep disadvantage she had because she didn’t have an ability, Chikako was quickly subdued. Before any harm could be done to her, Miyuki pleaded for him to stop. Pushing down her pride, Miyuki admitted that they were indeed similar in terms of ideals, shocking both Koichi and her partner. She carries on with the fact that they were both ugly individuals and if he promises not to hurt her friend then she will subdue Chikako herself and help the male carry out his plan since she was the only one that could. Seemingly thinking this over, Koichi diverted his attention from Chikako as he approached her. He then called her out on her lie, asking her if she really believed he would fall for something so obvious in terms of bait. Miyuki admitted that she knew he was smart enough not too, it was just to catch his attention.

Cursing her, Koichi was quickly knocked to the ground by Chikako before he could bringt his attention back to her while Miyuki felt control return to her body due to his ability weakening from lack of concentration. With Chikako him down, Miyuki assured her senior that she was fine and she could leave on her own as the former called in for back up. Amongst their debating on how to handle the situation Koichi was quick in using his ability in order to escape. Feeling that familiar weight settled over her, Miyuki could only bark at her friend to move and shoot as Koichi pulled her forward in an attempt to knock the female off of him. Shifting out of the way, Chikako was quick in shooting her down, a non lethal shot to the stomach before shooting Koichi.

With back up coming in, both were rushed to receive medical attention, Koichi being detained instantly. Thanked for her efforts in taking the group down, Miyuki was placed on leave in order to give her time to heal, Miyuki was well aware of the fact that it was because most of her co workers expressed displeasure at the thought of working with her with her deeds as Junko Aoki being well known thanks to reports and info being spread from Kunihiko. Coupled with the fact she still committed crimes, Miyuki was faced with the prospect of being arrested. After much debating, the female managed to reach a compromise with her chief and the government that she would be sent to the armed detective agency as a sense of ‘community service’ before she was allowed back. While nervous at the thought of being placed with new people with similar abilities to her own and a sense of guilt that she didn't deserve to be let off with a 'slap on the wrist', it was only thanks to a talk with Chikako who affirmed that she was still 'good and capable of doing good' that Miyuki went to the ADA. Miyuki managed to pass her entrance exam without much of a problem and found herself falling into the flow of things and getting along with her coworkers quite nicely.

Cross Fire (十字砲火, Kurosufaia): Miyuki's ability allows to her to manipulate fire and incinerate anything she wants. Great for both defensive and offensive attacks, a side effect of her ability is that her body temperature rises the longer she uses it and if she's not careful she can literally burn from the inside out.
