I'm so sorry for my absence. I know a lot of people have been wondering after me, and that me going MIA for so long isn't okay.  I'm posting this up real quick just to let y'all know I'll be getting back to everyone right after away after I get this bulletin up, and to give a bit of an explanation:

Anyone who's probably paid even a little bit of attention to my posts this year knows I just have not been in a good place.  I don't want to overshare or get too much into it here, but tbh I've just been really struggling this year emotionally and mentally.  I'm fairly positive I'm suffering from depression, and while I'm pretty sure it's situational/in reaction to stress and life and not anything deeper, it's just been incredibly hard for me to kick myself out of -- especially with how awful this year just in general has been w/ the pandemic and election and etc.

I feel an incredible amount of guilt for how badly it's been affecting my productivity, and that's why I haven't been keeping up with TH like I should; I keep telling myself I'll get back here when I have more comms done, but then that feeds into my stress & guilt further which in turn keeps affecting my productivity, and the next thing I know a few days has turned into weeks. It's awful of me and I know it's awful, but I've just been having such a hard time getting myself out of that cycle.  I'm honest to god trying, though, hence my trying to own up to it now. o<-<

As it stands, I'm not going to be taking on any more commissions until I finish up what I have, then I'll see about slowly easing myself back into things one comm at a time.  I have 10 at the moment, so not the hugest backlog ever, but it's enough, and it'd be wildly irresponsible of me to take on any more until they're all finished at this point.

In the mean time, I'll be relying on MYOs and potentially quick/sketchy adopts here and there to keep myself afloat financially.  I know it's selfish of me to ask given how shitty I've been, but if y'all have some extra funds to spare and would maybe think about picking up a MYO slot when I open to help ease me through this rough time while I try to get on top of things again, I'd greatly, greatly appreciate it. o<-<

I'll be opening probably like 15 flat sale slots in a bit (just selling the slots straight-up, no designing first required like my usual MYO sale events), after I finish responding to PMs and whatnot.  If you're interested and already familiar with my MYO prices, feel free to comment that you'd like one here and I'll put you down for one of the slots when I properly open them.

Beach is exactly as it sounds -- basically anything having to do with, well, the beach!  Sunbathing, building a sand castle, playing with a beach ball, enjoying the water, etc -- or you could leave it totally up to me! :))
Fireworks is your character holding a sparkler (evening/night time theme).  This theme is meant to be more experimental and honestly is just an excuse to play with some fancy, sparkly lighting. :D

First off, some house cleaning:

My apologies for being super MIA the past, like, month and half-ish?  If you've been paying attention to my bulletins at all this past year you'll know I've kinda been struggle boating a lot this year--and whooo boy stuff going on in the world lately is not helping with that.  Basically, I'll get a burst of productivity going then crash down hard.  I don't really wanna go into it a lot here, but do know I'm officially working my shit out cuz I'm just super over it.  Done feeling crappy and struggling all the time and just, ready for my life to feel productive and positive again.  And if I gotta strong arm myself into that, I damn well will.
Anyway, what I'm trying to get at is: I'm determined to get myself back on track and on a regular postings schedule again, so I should be much more active now and getting things back more quickly.  If I'm not, someone please come yell at me lol.

For those who are still waiting on your commissions -

Kiss on the Cheek will be two characters, with the receiver reacting to being kissed on the cheek by the other.  It can be romantic, platonic, familial, horseplay, etc!  (Like, would Character A getting kissed by B be shocked?  Would they blush?  Laugh?  Be annoyed?  Grossed out? etc etc)  This is meant to be a fun, more expressive theme!

It's been a long time since I've posted a bulletin that's just an update on my life, and not some kind of sale.  Phew!   
But I kinda wanted to touch base with customers, supporters, ppl I have dealings/trades with, friends, etc. to let y'all know what's up with me and why the heck has Jo been so friggin' MIA for basically 5ever.

Some of you have probably already heard this from me before via PMs, but the long and short of it is basically: art block. 

Around the time I had to get a new computer (if y'all remember that), I took on a lot of customs.  I overestimated myself and didn't take the work load seriously enough, so I also accepted several zines and got myself into a con (w/o already ready-to-use prints/merch) and basically just took on way more than I could chew and consequently have not been able to properly catch up with my workload since.  I've been stuck in a cycle of always having to take on more things before I finished the last to be able to keep up with my finances and whatnot.  After a while that sort of thing drags and stresses real damn hard, and it pushed me into a really shitty and huge art block (and potentially a kind of depression?? idk) that's been going for what feels at least half a year strong now.  It's super.    
Thankfully it's not hurting my, like, artistic skills or whatever (/wipes brow), but it does make me reaaaaallll gd slow.  And the closer I get to finally catching up and being back to finishing stuff before I take on more--aka the closer I get to the light at that gat dang tunnel--it's like the worse the block gets.  Which is to say, I'm super friggin' close to being like 100% caught up on my shit again! (whoo!)  But eff me, it's just taking me about a million gd years to actually get there.  And of course the coronavirus crap happening now is only making me more stressed and making it worse cuz it's like all I think about now and makes it even harder to focus on art jflk;dafsd (please take care of yourselves and do your social distancing if able and wash your hands!!)

ANYWAY.  I just wanted to share a bit of what's going on with me for those who didn't already know.  Cuz I know I've been way slower than usual with commissions and I know I've been really spotty about timely getting back to PMs, and I apologize for that.  I'm trying to push through things -- I mean, I have to, because art is my job and I gotta feed myself, y'now? -- but the way thru is just a bit more bogged down and bumpier than I'd hope. /__\
(This is also why I've not been on twitter or discord fyi -- the stress is making me feel bad and guilty and like I don't deserve to be on social media until I get a handle of things jfkld;a (cuz my brain is dumb like that))

That all said, I also want to thank all of you who have been supremely patient with me, and for those who continue to support me and seek out my art and designs.  I don't think I stop to say or show my appreciate enough, but it really does mean the world to me.  Y'all keep me fed and inspire me to keep pushing myself forward.  Thank you!
