Whip's Links
Anna is kind of cool to Whip. It's not often someone stokes his ego quite like her. Most people just kind of bark at him for being a thieving pest, but Anna seemed starstruck by his glamerous occupation.
She's on his good list. Keep it up and you might be a treasure hunter one day too, kid.
Oh my god.
It's a bunny.
It's a really big bunny.
It must be hugged.
Little magical child that has it good and can beat her up with magic. Stupid goddamned child is always happy and smiling and it pisses her off. Stupid fucking piece of shit kid thinks they have the right to come up to her and feign friendship. Well honestly this little brat is the biggest insult. Because she doesn't want sympathy, and she definitely doesn't want it while looking at a child, who's younger than her, stronger than her, and better off than her, telling her what to do. She hates Chant, just like she hates a lot of people, and Angelica would probably just stab Chant in the back for some more bread. She needs it more, after all.
Chant's feelings on Princess are a little confused, not in the least because she represents everything Chant dislikes about herself. Misfortune forced upon a smol murderous child who acts out and tries so hard to be bad because they think being bad is the only way to survive.
She really wants to help people like Princess, and she certainly doesn't hold the "tried to kill her" thing against the angler fish, but... Mostly, Chant just tries to keep her out of mind. It makes her feel really sad and powerless, ,and she doesn't want to feel that way.
When Chant first like, physically met Flix, he was a little intimidating to her. But when the slow and soft-spoken mara(she thinks he's like a really tall fox or something) opened his mouth and tired-but-nerdy things came out, she quickly got along with him. Maybe not necessarily because she knows much about him, but more because he doesn't push her away. He actively invited her to his adoptive father's home and gave her soda(a mistake to be sure), so Chant firmly believes that he can be all worn and tired at the world as he wants; there's still some part of him that really does care, and she wants for nothing more than to bring it out!
So far Flix has only met people who led very similar lives and talked about very similar stuff, which got very repetitive and bland and boring very fast, and that is something he hates, and he can't understand the point of simple casual conversation.
..And then there's Chant. There's SEVERAL things that make her different from other people, at least to Flix. Firstly, she's a child, or at least looks and acts like one, and everyone knows children perceive the world differently. Secondly, she's a MAGIC child, and people who have stuff to do with magic are bound to be at least a little bit less boring than the rest. And thirdly, she's an optimistic, world-loving magic child, which is something new entirely compared to all these people who worry about the same stuff always. And she's this one slightest hint of positivity Flix allows in his life, with her childish behaviour, getting drunk with soda and even going as far as to calling Flix her friend, and everytime she randomly pops up in front of Flix, he finds himself curious about what she might have to say or what new ideas she's come up with this time.
Whip is entirely unaware of Sunny's existence, though he has once been affected by the god. It resulted in an alternate universe in which he defended Sugar instead of running away as a child, though it...
didn't end well.
Sunny mostly kept his distance after that.
One of Sunny's charges. Quite Frankly, Sunny doesn't have to do much to keep Whip the Rabbit on track. Dude's a silly, but he hasn't quite /murdered/ yet, so Sunny mostly just lets him go on.
He's happy to know that he would look pretty cute as a bunny though.
Witchy is fond of Sunny. She's learnt a lot from Moonie, there is always something to learn from a god, and in her pursuit of knowledge occasionally leads her to Sunny. Though he's as clueless as her since he's new to the whole.. being a god thing. Though he can be impatient to Witchy's standards, she enjoys his company and trying to explain things to him - with pictures, of course.
Witchy is suuuuper interesting to Sunny, like, beyond how much she even knows. She's /human/. Like, Sunny is curious about /everything/, but especially humans and all the junk they get up to. Not to mention he thinks she's cute, and she's super knowledgable about pretty much anything. Even stuff she only just learned about herself. She's kind of like an older sister in that regard, which is especially pertinent since she is older than him, despite his immortality.
Far too bright and sunny for her death filled life, she was a little hesitant at his first appearance, as another god the same level as Moonie was a little strange... Though he does make Moonie happy, and that's something Remmis can appreciate. The two of them get along well, and Remmis enjoys snarking at him, since his wit as as sharp as her teeth.
Sunny and Remmis are super vitrolic. He absolutely believes that somewhere in that dark edgy outer shell lies a kind soul that just wants peace. Also she's really fun to screw around with, and the two clash silver tongues quite often, which is greatly amusing to him. Plus, she and Moonie are the only gods he's ever known, so he feels a strange kinship with her, even if she wasn't always a god.
Moonie adores Sunny. She would; technically he exists because she wished it so; though occasionally she does feel.. selfish for wishing him into existence. Despite this, she's brightened significantly since his appearance; she loves Remmis and Witchy, but it's nice having someone around who isn't one of your charges. She loves his demeanor and bright sunny personality, but most of all she enjoys being able to connect with someone else who is like her. Though he's been around the shortest of everyone, Moonie can't imagine the Pocket Dimension without him.
Sunny really likes Moonie~!
But he's not quite sure how to feel about liking her. She did create him after all, so would there be some kind of forcefulness to it?
He doesn't think so, however. He believes her when she said that she made him by mistake, and he believes in /her/. Moonie's the best friend he could have ever asked for, so he gladly spends eternity mucking around with all the Rems and Whips with her.
Chant is a wonderful darling - a wonderful darling that represents what she wants out of the world. A good, lovely person who just want the best for others. And that's why being around this child is so infuriating and aggravating for this Goddess. As much as she wants to devour the mind of this child, more than anything in the world because it's just so SWEET, she instead has decided to use Chant, and their little ragtag team as a means to her goal of making the best, most lovely world to eat. As for Chant herself? She find the lack of worshipping... insulting. But she'll grit her teeth and deal with the brat in a sickeningly nice and accepting manner until she gets what she wants. And when she does, there won't be any Chant left.
The Goddess was a godsend(snrk) for Chant. During a time where she was desperately looking for help bettering the world, down ascended this goddess with assistance from the heavens themselves!
Chant revels in her majesty's presence, even if it's more friendly, rather than in a worshipping sense. Whether or not she can sense what kind of person the Goddess really is remains to be seen.
Tii's step-mother.
While Tii had no more of a connection to Viva than any of the other children, she was arguably the one most moved by her. When she was little, and Viva, sickly and unable to defend them, the step-mother would always tell her that her smile was what held the family together.
Thanks to that, Tii is able to keep smiling, even when things are hard, because if she doesn't, then no one will. And that's sad.
One of Viva's step-children.
Though Viva herself never really connected with Tii particularly well, she always appreciated the energy the young girl had, even as a toddler. She's also the reason Tii and her sister have a pun-derful naming convention
Sugar's step-mother.
Despite living with her longer than her own mother, Sugar never quite bonded with Viva. Even as a child, she felt partly-responsible for the illness that befell Viva, and so she didn't feel worthy of her as a mother.
She felt guilty when her sibings mourned Viva's death, because she felt nothing.
Viva's step-daughter.
A major part of why Viva took Coal back when he returned two years after leaving her the first time was because he carried in tow three little children, one of whom was now an orphan.
That was Sugar. Viva felt horrible for what happened to the poor girl, and no small part of the regret she felt upon her deathbed came from never getting to know Sugar better.
Sugar's step-father.
She is his good little girl. With one violent exception, she would never speak out against him. In fact, she can thank that one exception for the subservience she now feels around him.
He terrifies her.
Coal's Step-Daughter.
He never cared much for her when he first hooked up with Ivory. After Ivory passed, however, he found himself in the forced custody of the young little girl, scarcely able to talk and walk at that point.
He raised her to listen and behave like a good girl should, and despite having to teach her lesson once...
Well, it was only once.
The only man Viva had ever entered a relationship with.
She... Only wished he would be better, one day. That hope proved to be her fatal undoing. Perhaps she wouldn't have succumbed to the severe stresses upon her if she'd simply cast him aside.
Coal's second... Woman-with-which-he-had-a-child.
Though for a time, he found her quite attractive and fun, his interests eventually meandered elsewhere. He did reconnect with her after bogging himself down with three children and no one to help him raise them, though his very presence placed a frailty on her that ultimately led to her passing as well.
His feelings for her were probably the closest to love he'd ever experience.
Whip's youngest --and only biological-- sister.
She drives him nuts, but she's cool. He kind of wishes she'd stop trying to shape him into a "perfect older brother", but he appreciates that she can be fun when she needs to be.
Mars' second-oldest --and only biological-- brother.
She was far too young to remember him as a child, so most of her opinion of him formed from the scintillating tales their father told about him after he ran. Luckily for Whip, Mars never for a moment believed anything she was told, and instead had grandeurs about her amazing older brother who stood for what was right and defied their authortarative father.
Though greatly disappointed by the reality, she nevertheless took it upon herself to instead mold him into this role, despite she herself only being 10.
He finds it maddening, but she must persist.
Whip's younger half-sister.
The two bond well over physical activities like dance and gymnastics, and overall act more or less like close sibilings. She is, perhaps, the only of his sisters that does not fill him with regret. She is far too cheerful for that.
Tii's second-eldest half-brother, and eldest that she ever learns about.
She appreciates him far more than her twin does, finding his demeanor and accomplishments to be inspiring. She is not, of course, above taking pot shots at his ego whenever the shot is available, but it's usually in good fun.
Whip's younger half-sister.
His relationship with her is a bit shaky. He cares about her as much as any of his sisters, but his latent guilt for abandoning his sisters with his father never manifest more prominently than with her, the one who would not forgive.
That aside, the two don't share many interests either, and thus, it's difficult for him to try and bond with her, further burying their relationship in a hole.
Swii's second-eldest half-brother and the eldest she ever learns of.
Her memories of him as a child are foggy, as they only grew up together until she was about five, but the stories her father spewed about him after he'd left still ring in her ears. Try as she might to be stoic, one of the few things that pierces her is how betrayed she feels towards her brother.
She might never forgive him for it, not completely.
Whip's biological father.
He hates him.
Coal's second-eldest son.
Though he never cared much for the kid, and indeed ended his relationship with Viva the first time mostly due to his conception, after both Ivory and Viva had passed before his eyes, he expended energy trying to raise the runt in a half-hearted attempt to give his own life some legacy.
He failed.
Whip's mother. Though he was about sevenish when she passed away, he retains very little memory of her, mostly due to repression. As a child, he cared about her more than anything else, and her passing was a large part of why he eventually left his father to live on his own despite his age.
On some level, he blames himself for her death.
Viva's son. The eldest of her two children, and eldest of the five children total she tried to raise before her passing.
She regarded him with much care and love. In her sickness, her biggest regret was not being well enough to give him a better life.
Whip's younger step-sister.
There are few people in the world that he cares for more than her. The two get along swimmingly, and they coalesce well as a team.
Whip holds a lot of guilt in regards to her, feeling that the wounds she suffered on her ears were directly his fault. He sometimes tries to overcompensate for this by giving her extra attention, but it doesn't usually help.
Sugar's elder step-brother.
The two are on excellent terms and tend to travel and treasure hunt together across the skies in his airship.
She harbours feelings for him, though even she is confused what kind of affection it is. He is unrecipricative, and in fact entirely unaware, which suits her just fine.
