I sketch with any variation of red for one person drawings. For something with complication I normally chose green or blue to not blend in with the red original sketch.
Pretty simple question. What colour do you sketch with and why? This is assuming you're going to line the sketch and not use it as lineart
I use to sketch in red but a friend of mine is colour blind, so they see red as yellow. After they told me that I started to sketch in light blue, and I've been doing that ever since
I usually use cyan and then use yellow and then magenta if the sketch starts getting so complex that I have a hard time picking out individual features. I rarely ever need more than that, I usually use different layers for sketches of characters and BG so the details don't get lost.
usualllyyyy I sketch in thick brushes with black or very dark red, on a dull light-brown b/g. I might throw in some off-white to separate out something important.
I usually base the color I sketch in on whatever color the character I'm drawing is. For instance, if the character has a purple shirt, I'd sketch in purple. There's no real reason I do that, it's just how I usually sketch out my drawings.
Light gray Or if I have multiple characters I do a version of a light color that they have a lot of Like SU characters, I Always will do their colors but light, almost white
Mine tends to be random. I typically don't really care much about the color of the sketch as long as it's not too dark or too light haha.
Although I did get a digital brush pack recently which included a brush that mimics a pencil in the traditional field, so when using that brush I most likely will go for a grey or dark grey color c:
Red, Blue and Green! Red for the main basics like the body, blue for the other basics like the face and hair, and green for clothes and details! I know it's a lot of colors but I'm a beginner and sketch kinda messy so it helps to have everything mapped out nicely :')
I mostly use red, sometimes black but occasionally I'll use the theme color of the character I'm drawing.
