i just got into vocaloid so i don’t know what 90% of the questions mean, but i like miku, teto and rolling girl!!! it and a lot of other vocaloid songs are really nostalgic to me because i heard them when i was a kid

back in my gacha phase I saw a gacha meme with rachie’s circles cover in it and I wanted to make my own (and then didn’t). I only listened to covers for a while because I could understand the lyrics but when I got spotify most of my favourite cover artists’ music wasn’t on there so I started searching up original stuff too!! now I listen to an even mix of original vocaloid songs and english covers :]]]

Who is/are your favorite Vocaloid(s)

can’t tell them apart well yet vocally (+most songs are miku especially from my favourite producers) but I like gumi :]]  very green very cool she sang copycat etc.

GOSHHH AAAAAAAAAA I HAVE TWO FAVOURITES!!! one is wowaka!!! have listened to all of his vocaloid music and literally every single song is AWESOME. most people only know 1-4 of his songs but the rest of them are so unbelievably underrated and worth checking out. here is the playlist with all of them on there!! my favourites right now might be lineart, boku no sainou and unhappy refrain but I adore ALL of them and it frequently changes. 

the other is Harumaki Gohan!!! haven’t listened to all of his music yet but all of his songs that I do know are SO GOOD and he also makes the music videos??? LIKE. AAAAAAAAH AND AND he also makes vocal covers!!! so many different talents go check his songs out. my favourites right now are probably seventina, mirage and secret maybe?? melty land nightmare also? so much good stuff AAAAGDNBCMC

Did Vocaloid give you an impact on life of any sort?

I feel like it did!! it’s one of the only fandoms I’ve ever kind of been in. I mostly listen to vocaloid music / covers and it helps me cope with life in general. I’ve found many vocaloid songs to be relatable, some being very deeply relatable which is something that doesn’t happen to me very often. I listen to a lot of vocaloid music to calm down, cheer me up, process and feel big feelings, make me sad for absolutely no reason, or just to vibe to.

Does Vocaloid you inspire you?

kind of!! I don’t get inspired often at all by media but kagerou project was one of the inspirations for the other side of the field!! kagepro is so good btw go check out some of the songs aAAAH. it inspired the general way in which the story of TOSOTF would be told (albums of songs with a detailed storyline) and subconsciously I may have taken a lot of themes from it too!! kagerou days has such a feeling about it that I just love. other than that, some specific vocaloid songs have helped me shape lots of different aspects of my characters because I related them to the characters a lot :]]

I don’t really listen to UTAU haha!!

I do have some!! my OC (who isn’t up yet but I will upload them soon, they’re from the reject and the stray) Decora is inspired by the song bitter choco decoration, specifically rachie’s cover lol. you could put most of my main OCs in this category too, as a lot of their stories have been shaped by vocaloid music. for example Charmie would not be the same if not for unhappy refrain LMAO. in fact, technically Charmie does fit here as she was initially inspired by copycat, alongside multiple other things!!

I NEED TO MAKE SOME!!! I only really have one character that’s a (fan made not real nor usable) vocaloid, Sugar, but I don’t actually use her anymore and am thinking of moving her to storage.

gosh, this was so long ago that i'm not sure i can remember the first vocaloid song i ever listened to... it was just kind of always there haha! but one of the first that i actually remember listening to was hitorinbo envy!

i didn't really have any one specific moment of finding it, i've just always listened to it ever since i was old enough to use the internet haha! i was listening to vocaloid all the way back in elementary school

Who are your favorite Vocaloids?

HIME AND MIKOTO!!! they're so underrated but their voicebanks are so high quality by vocaloid standards and their voices are incredible!! not to mention their adorable designs and cool concept!! hime's voice is like the embodiment of all things cute, they completely blow all the other cutesy vocaloids out of the water, and mikoto's voice is so cool and versatile, they're like flower but better in every way!!! GODDD i wish people used them more!!! some of my other favorites are una, len, rin, and moke!

Who are your favorite producers? List five!

it's kind of hard to limit myself to just five, but i think at the moment my top 5 is... iyowa, namine, harumaki gohan, kisara, and yugica! (i also really like inabakumori but that's like.. 6th place haha)

well, it impacted my music taste and my wallet for sure, haha...!

i really love a lot of chinese vocal synths!!! stardust infinity on synthv is INCREDIBLE, and i just love all the medium5 voicebanks in general! for vocaloid specifically though, my favorites are zhiyu moke and xin hua!

honestly, i used to hate english vocalsynths back when vocaloid was the best option, because really... no engloids in vocaloid sound good. the only english vocal synths i really like are the ones on synthv (kevin is my favorite!!)

How about CeVIO?

i really dislike cevio. it has so much engine noise, all of the voicebanks sound the same, and yet somehow everyone LOVES it and eats it up every time a new voicebank is released ... ????? it really shows how the fandom is completely centered around how cute the png attached to a voicebank is rather than the actual quality of the voicebank itself

Utaites?

i used to listen to a lot of utaites when i was a young teen, but i don't really listen to many anymore! especially since synthv's ai voicebanks basically make human covers of vocalsynth songs irrelevant lol

  • Ievan Polka! ..Well, for popular Vocaloid songs, that is. Technically it was a Miku cover of Cagayake Girls (K-ON opening) which I didn't realize it was Miku's voice at the time lol
• When and how did you found Vocaloid?
  • Through a Malaysian magazine called Gempak around early 2010? Uh, it's like Nintendo Power but for games and anime in Malaysia, yeah? They feature Vocaloid figures and Project Diva sometimes and I liked the designs of the Cryptonloids so much that I sometimes draw them despite not knowing what the hell Vocaloids are lol. It wasn't until late 2010 that I have my first foray on the internet and randomly googled Vocaloid.
  • Coincidentally my interest in them was also piqued because at that time they were also having a Vocaloid collab in TinierMe lol (remember that?).
• Who is/are your favorite Vocaloid(s)
  • IA. Also Miku (yes I genuinely love her voice even when everyone back in the 2010's hiveminded-ly hates her for being "basic" lol), Rin, VY2 and Zunko!

  • Neru and Jesus-P (WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY)!! Also SeleP, Manbou, Jin, Wowaka (RIP...). There's probably more but I haven't listened to them in a while lol. I'm not familiar with newer Vocaloid-Ps haha.
• Did Vocaloid give you an impact on life of any sort?
  • In a way, yeah! I don't participate in the Vocaloid fandom much myself but I was in the UTAU and Kagepro fandom and met my friends there. Also they totally influenced my OCs and taste in songs in a lot of ways without me realizing haha.
• Does Vocaloid inspire you?
  • If anything, it inspires me a lot in "indie" related works, I def wanted to try making my own MVs someday in the style of Vocaloid songs, and I learned mixing and some DAW production due to me dabbling in UTAU/Vocaloid covers. If I had the will, I'd also love to make my own song from scratch lol, especially using Vocaloids as the vocals since I'm never confident in my singing.
• Do you have a favorite UTAUloid?
  • I love Ruko, Miko and Ritsu for Vipperloids! Frankly I mostly listen to Malaysian UTAUs for non-Vipperloids (which is something I need to fix haha), and my fav for non-Vippers is Koene Shiho for Malaysian UTAU, as well as Haruka Nana and Yamine Renri for Japanese!

  • I have ones that's inspired from Rin and Len but have yet to upload them yet haha.

  • I had a eternally-WIP UTAU named Kurai Ame... This was her old design and this is her redesign I made in recent years lol. She never had a voicebank because I was like 14 when I created her and never had a decent mic + too stupid to understand how oto.ini works. I do plan on reviving her soon as I get an actual mic this year though!

  • Not right now but I was looping Ayano's Theory of Happiness almost the entire afternoon lol. I actually haven't listen/keep up with Vocaloid songs now but sometimes I have the urge to loop old ones out of nostalgia.

  • Not really, mostly because I was too hyperfocusing on Kagepro when Chinese Vocas were popular and never caught up with V4 banks, including them. I do love their V3 design though, especially Ideolo's artstyle!

  • Tbh only Miriam, Avanna and Oliver are the ones I like. (A shame that the former two is rarely used) And I'm still salty that IA English is not a Vocaloid because almost no one uses her CEVIO English bank :/

  • I'm not all too familiar with their vb's but I know their popular ones and Vocaloids that are ported into them, in my humble opinion I don't really dig their "signature" engine noises with their voicebanks? It's really the only thing that held me back from liking CeVIOs and I find them more distracting/muffled than UTAUs and older Vocaloids. Which is a shame because I love the sound profile of IA's CeVIO bank! It's just for Vocaloid competitors, I def prefer SynthV as an engine more.

  • Not really, I listen to them and know them well but I don't have particular utaites I heavily follow. I frankly prefer most utaite's original songs over their covers for some reasons? If I really had to pick names, I really love Ado! But I only started liking her mostly because of her originals which are mostly after she debuted as a professional lol

  • I used to listen to Jubyphonic a lot for her English lyrics, but that's it. But again, I don't think I have anyone particular as my fav lol.

  • I have, both UTAU, Vocaloid and currently learning SynthV as well! I'm way more active at making them back then in 2013-2014 but I do dabble in making covers from time to time right now. Vocaloids I have are IA, IA Rocks, Miku V4/V3, VY2 and Zunko!

  • I was HUGELY into Kagepro and my old tumblr blog was 99% Kagepro lol. To measure how long I've been in Kagepro; Yobanashi Deceive was the first song I experienced "live" being posted as a new song and all.
    I was also the one who subtitled and posted the most popular MV for Jinzou Enemy which had almost 2M views so...yeah. 
    As for other Vocasong series, I was into Shuuen no Shiori for a brief moment until they added the 2nd gen cast is where I stopped keeping up? (A bit sad that it was abruptly discontinued though).
    There's also the Evillous Chronicles which I have heard all its main songs but I can't ever process its story to save my life lol.
