I didn’t see a thread like this, and I was curious, so here we are.
For the record, I'm asking about your character with the most expensive current value, not just the one with the most expensive initial price (although you could do either, it doesn't really matter).
By far my most expensive character.
He's at $781 over the course of three years, and even now, I'm saving up to get one of my biggest commissions yet for him. It's just insane to me that the amount of art a character has doesn't reflect their overall cost.
ein & kanou were originally $0 and $15, respectively (an old personal oc + a custom), but theyre one of my most invested pairs/worlds and.. i overly spoil them from time to time hhh
counting ship art (which most of their comms are), $843 as a pair.

This girl. I've probably spent nearly 2K on her. I've spent a huge amount on character in general as I consider it my hobby.
Desiree has the most art, and the most money put into the art for her, so this is probably my highest valued character. Casey is definitely close, if not overtaking Desiree though.
Dylan here is one that I think has the most value. He has the longest and most developed backstory, most in depth information about him on his profile, and 10 years worth of art, 99% of which is not posted on toyhouse as I only post art that is new or well drawn. I can't estimate an actual value but he's definitely not cheap and he will never be for sale anyways, I'm taking him to my grave.
Probably Kara; she's got loads of art and a decent amount of favorites.
I also plan on commissioning plushies, kigurumis, and a realistic fursuit of her, and let's not forget I plan on making a toony fursuit for her. She'd be ridiculously expensive by that point.
Of course I'm never selling her; she's my fursona. No matter how crazy high the offers will get, I'm keeping Kara for my whole life.
Got him as a custom for a character trade originally. So far the higher quality art pieces of his have costed me over $200 togeher. I have some more commissioned art coming my way for him. But yeah its all worth it for me. I really love his design and he just makes me happy ^.^
Coming in second is this guy x3 I also just commissioned some more art of him so right now his collective worth is at $240. But again worth it cuz I love this guy a lot too!
