He don’t show his emotions so much, it’s hard to smile for him

Elijah is a little traumatized by what damage his magic caused so hes staying to himself and rarely shows much emotion except if hes really excited or flustered 

Merlin doesnt really know what emotions really are or reacts very strongly to anything 

Nicolaj traumatised and hiding his past similar to Elijah, hes generally very grumpy and disgruntled (bc of his sleep deprivity though)

Meridith lost her family to Celestial games where her family was collateral damage, blames and wants everyone to be miserable and became like an evil Queen (we still stan) 

Azrael takes himself and his duty too serious to enjoy the little things, rarely smiling bc hes aware his nemesis Cain could be around 

Dante Alien hybrid, mom is a species that has no emotions but is allknowing, got his lack of strong emotions from her 

Venganza used to be cheerful, even quite giggly but that was before she was taken from her baby and turned into a cyborg. For now, she doesn't see much purpose in it, although at times she can be content if she is relaxed enough or nostalgic for her old partner.

This guy only smiles when his kids do something stupid or sweet lmao. Otherwise you'd think this guy's mouth muscles made it impossible to smile.

Although you can't see her face in the first place, Matilda doesn't smile much as a whole. She's a vengeful person, and killer, though she's managed to find a reason to smile in the form of a vengeful teenage spirit, Sydney or "The Ghoul" as the survivors call her. 

Sydney reminds her of her daughter, the only happiness she had prior to the tragedy her husband caused, and before her murder spree. Matilda sometimes accidentally calls Sydney by her daughter's name. 

No mouth, so it probably doesn't count, but Tyrian wouldn't smile if he had one. He thinks too highly of himself to have time for things such as happiness.

i wont say much about his backstory (which is on their page), but he wasn't loved and supported much in his childhood,,, rip
