From the seediest back alleys to the opulent pent houses and offices of the most lavish towers to even the house next door to behind the highest offices of some governments or companies. There's one common element that binds all these places together and it's as much a part of human nature as anything else. Crime. From things as simple as stealing food to survive to some crimes which could be considered especially heinous. From the most petty misdemeanors to the vicious felonies. Criminals exist in all strata of daily life. Some have been caught and others are still at large. That's where this thread comes into play. This thread is for criminals of all shapes and forms. From all settings from the most fantastical, the most futuristic, the most contemporary? It doesn't matter. If you have yourself a character who is or was a criminal in some shape or form. Have they been caught for shop lifting and had to pay a fine? Assassinated a head of state and is on the run? Committed some unspeakable act and is now waiting on death row...or worse? Perhaps they were never caught at all? This is the thread for them.
There are some rules however
- Given the nature of this thread there is a very real chance some seriously sensitive topics might come up? While this thread won't be marked as mature, as not all crimes might be particularly nasty, be smart in what you talk about and how. For example. For sensitive subjects please black out the text like this. Example text. Along with that. This thread will be less to recount the vivid graphic details of the crime and more simply letting people know what they did. For example. You can have a character that maybe be a serial killer. Try to frame it as just that. Saying what they are and maybe alluding to some of their crimes but keep any actual descriptions vague and PG-13 at worse. We don't need to know about particularly graphic details of a person's crimes.
- Try not to romanticize what your character did if they did something particularly awful. By which, I mean, if say your character is a war criminal don't try to describe their crimes in a good light for example. There are exceptions to this rule such as the aforementioned stealing to eat but things such as war crimes, sexual assault, serial murder, or crimes against children? Don't frame those things as good or noble.
- You can either post your characters one at a time or as a group in an OOC post. Post options are perfectly valid. Just try not to dominate an entire page with your characters. So if you are posting a few on their own? Try to only do three at a time and let more people post in the interim before you go back to going one at a time.

I have criminal chars in stories yah, quite a bit tbh? The one who fits the traditional sense of criminal the best(that is uploaded on toyhouse) would be Kestrel. He’s just a mafia henchman, what more can I say. He intimidates people to give him money, listen to his boss’ orders and he might have killed one or two people in the past for mafia business. He’s not involved in the money laundering so that’s something I guess. He’s not the worst person ever but he’s, uh, yeah he’s not nice.
Ethellia is a piromaniac who likes to burn down houses after she steal from them, she does not have mercy to attack anybody with her fire and in general would hurt or kill anybody if she feels like, and can get out of everything without having to pay about her crimes
I mean he ain't some cold blooded killer but Taj is a gang leader who's commit quite a few crimes resulting around fights and disturbing the peace. He's been arrested a couple times? But often gets out on bail or just avoids getting caught, it's a bit of a game to him. He's done a lot more but never anything reAlly extreme
My big crime drug dealer and fraudster who is also sometimes a demon hunter on the side. His FFXIV Iteration is more heavily involved in transporting and selling illegal goods of pretty much all kinds, though he'll certainly delve into anything from illegal smuggling to blackmail to contract killing if it suits him (if the pay is good enough).
Oh what Hasn't Noir done? As expected of your average mafia/underground crime worker, Noir has done his fair share of hired murders as well as working in an illegal gambling ring in their 'Family' owned Casino. He also has dealt with illegal firearms, work in the black market, and simply "Taken Care of Business." Nothing really beyond what you'd expect for a hitman though.

they're most likely responsible for fraud and trying to form an illegal monopoly, as well as other white-collar crimes I can't really think off the top of my head rn. (tax evasion maybe?? I'm not too sure ngl-) as for the more "traditional" sort of crimes that they're guilty of, they head an underground organization dedicated to weeding out potential competitors to their business, usually through robbery and arson but murder has been used fairly often as well; they've never done of the dirty work themselves, but they're certainly indirectly responsible for the deaths of a good amount of people. and that's ignoring the conspiracy that they were involved in their father's death...
Timothy and Jean-Paul both work under Beverly's organization, so expect violent crimes to be on the list... somewhere. nobody has really been arrested/punished for their crimes mostly because of Beverly being a manipulative bitch and mingling with the law enough times to ensure that any deaths that don't get perceived as accidents end up never getting prosecuted (sort of them taking advantage of the corruption in the system or something like that).
it's shady as all hell, and I feel like there's definitely a movement trying to stop this from happening, but due to Beverly's extreme wealth and power, it's unlikely that much will be done due to the aforementioned corruption in this particular lore. :/
