Originally Sin was just one of those video game things where you just fuck the character up so much it’s funny. Turns out I liked Sin too much and gave him a name and backstory 

im like 90% sure jaak being a necrophiliac started as a joke

lazarus having a southern accent and liking applebees started off as a joke i think and now i mean

"Hahaha, what if K-pop idols had super powers and just blew up North Korea's government?"

Granted, it's in a fantasy setting with imaginary countries. But I still jokingly refer to this story as "BTS vs Kim Jong-un: THE ANIME".

kanen originally started off as a homestuck fantroll who i made really edgy for the sake of comedic effect in a rp on msparp. now she's.... actually edgy. maybe a little less edgy, and maybe a little more meaningfully edgy, but she's still edgy.

the comic in question is my personal project so none of the characters are uploaded on here BUT

i had a scene where one character started swearing and i just censored it out with black boxes
one of my friends was then like "hey.......... u know what would be funny........" and told me to put a guy with a sign that says "buy my stuff" in front of the speech bubble

he's now a staple of the universe and a canon character,,,,

I have a chracter that had a fairy design and that was only for Halloween so it was a one time thing, but people started likimg the design so I decided to make it a canon design.

It started off as a joke, me describing him in a joking way that he was like evil cat with wings, and now thats like half of his personality. sleeping on top of the fridge, pushing things off a shelf to be defiant. OTL

honestly i kinda treated it as a joke at first but then i just added it to his character since it fits w/ his whole trickster/goofball personality. now it's actually a p integral part of his character and it's hilarious

Bill's entire existence was technically a joke, but one joke was about him being the definition of the "cops love donuts" stereotype when I had him walk by in an RP with a box of them after my character said she didn't believe in the stereotype. And so I kept it.
