Rate the Character Design Above You (GAME)

A simple and sweet concept for those who are second-guessing their Character designs. Simialir to a Character Rating thread, this will more focus on the Design rather than the backstory or any information of the character. That way you can secure a great design before you set them up in a story or even an RP. (I do realize many people prefer to get their story done before locking down on a design, but this is for those who don't or are just looking to get advice on their designs.)

Rules

❀This is a friendly thread where others look for advice. Unless they want harsh critiques, please be respectful.

❀Try to avoid rating the same character multiple times.

❀The Character you post to be rated must have a Full-Body piece of art.

❀NSFW Characters are allowed to be shown here, just give a warning in your comment.

❀Rate the Character, not the art.

❀Ratings are given out of ten with an explanation. If you don't do so, you will get a warning.

❀Only post one character at a time by using the IC option.

❀Do not post Characters that do not belong to you.

❀Please put effort when it comes to rating a character. Don't just slap in "I like their colors!" as the only reason. Go into depth and try to find both the pros and cons of each design. If you want people to explain their ratings with good reasoning, do the same. A minimum of 3 sentences would be a good rule to go by when it comes to rating a character.

EXPLAIN RATING: I do love the colors, though the face design looks a little plain compared to the rest of the character. I would suggest adding some accessories or maybe even spicing up the face with a unique mark? Maybe a cute black mole in the shape of a heart under her right eye?

Explain Rating:

I love the fact that Venus can change their coat/morph so in a way its kind of realistic to how some animals will change their coat colors with the season to blend in more. I'm also a huge fan of their design as its a bit more complex than the normal "oh i'll just put a few dots here and there and call it good" for the design, I think due to the complexity their design is much more memorable and would be more fun to draw. I also love the way their eyes are as it gives it more of a mystical/mythological vibe to the character.

Anything you'd like to say about your character:

I came up with the design idea for Kai and the lovely Phoenix Blaze brought the character to life for me. He is one of my major comfort characters and has been for 4 years now. He has webbed fingers to help him tred water more effectively, and he is someone who would do anything to make you happy even if its damaging to his own mental health. he is a certified softboy

RATING(1-10): 9/10

EXPLAIN RATING: Well, I might have a bias for koi/fish things, but koi mermaids wow! With the webbed fins? hands? fands? and vitiligo to match with the koi aspect of it all !!! It's just the little adaptions that suit his environment that make his design a lot more believable, creative and realistic. Might be a personal thing but I think the blue hair is slightly clashing with the rest of the colours though. Regardless, he also really fits his soft boy description has such a cute and believable design. He's got to be one of my favourite mermaid ocs I've seen.

I'm a bit new to this part of the forum so sorry if I do something wrong, and... My english is really basic.

EXPLAIN RATING:

I was very critical and tried to find something bad in the design, but it's really perfect, all the details match perfectly, the only thing I didn't like 100% was the different marks on the leg, one was a crown and the other was another symbol, only this detail didn't match very much in my opinion, if the two brands were the same, it would definitely be a 10. Everything that involves the OC was very well planned, the details and other extras.

EXPLAIN RATING: Eden is baby, period. I adore the color palette and the soft aesthetic they give off makes me think of vibing on some fluffy clouds. I really enjoy the markings they have and again I keep getting drawn back to that palette!! I adore it so! I’m a big fan of primarily monotone palettes so Eden’s coloration is simply lovely!

EXPLAIN RATING: The design is cool and all but I feel like the colors need to be a bit more brighter/saturated. I also really do like the sprinkles she has on her top! Overall a cool design but I also do find it a little like a stereotypical clown OC.

Explain- i like the overall aesthetic and appeal but he doesn't really look like a tired character as described and I feel the colors are a tad bright. But its definitely a lovely character!

EXPLAIN RATING: I might've given more props, but I couldn't find a fullbody in Malcom's gallery.

I like the classy vibes in his design and it fits with his personality and his abilities in my opinion (especially his tie thing that kinda looks like an hourglass! It's Clever!) If I were you I'd add just a few more details to his design; A clock on his hat, a pocket-watch in the pocket of his coat, and maybe a puppet look like adding the ball joints to him! Here's an example of that.

Explanation for the rating

Tommy Toby gives me an impression of a character who still has hope with their heart and is always smiling largely despite however grave challenges they are facing. Their large, shining eyes tell me that they also tend to look forward for the future and endless optimism and perseverance which is great feat and it is suggested that it is to be maximized for what I think it is the most prominent trait that may reflect to the personality. I also love the color palette used for it shows the simplicity of the character while having to please the eyes and rather not to strain. It is also suggested in this that adding darker colors may add more strength to this cute character design and be more noticeable and diverse when added background. Overall in the character design, it is adorable and I approve of it! Nice job! Finally, I would also suggest for more fleshed out personality and the backstory to reason why the character is designed and behaves that way. Thanks!

Anything you'd like to say about your character: She is a Star Incarnate who is Proxima Centauri personified. Known to be energetic and likes to take risks. Explanation: Mao has very interesting looking outfit with nice color palette, nice contrast with the blues and yellow. I also like the eyes and one eyelash beneath both of the eyes, makes it more interesting. design nicely suits with the personality. Tho overall its a normal looking human with mostly outfit just standing out
