A simple and sweet concept for those who are second-guessing their Character designs. Simialir to a Character Rating thread, this will more focus on the Design rather than the backstory or any information of the character. That way you can secure a great design before you set them up in a story or even an RP. (I do realize many people prefer to get their story done before locking down on a design, but this is for those who don't or are just looking to get advice on their designs.)

❀Please put effort when it comes to rating a character. Don't just slap in "I like their colors!" as the only reason. Go into depth and try to find both the pros and cons of each design. If you want people to explain their ratings with good reasoning, do the same. A minimum of 3 sentences would be a good rule to go by when it comes to rating a character.

EXPLAIN RATING: I do love the colors, though the face design looks a little plain compared to the rest of the character. I would suggest adding some accessories or maybe even spicing up the face with a unique mark? Maybe a cute black mole in the shape of a heart under her right eye?

Explain rating: I feel like most things fall into place with this characters design. I love the mid and light tone browns in this characters palette and the body structure of the character compliments that. With the tie, shorts and socks, I feel like the blue would work a little better if it was lighter, I also think the tail looks a little out of place on him. I feel like he would a smaller, shorter very fluffy tail. also, maybe a lighter eye color to match the tie. regardless, it's a very beautiful character and I think his design is really neat! I also think that adding a detail or two to his outfit would balance it out with head and face.
YOUR CHARACTERS NAME: Harley
ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO SAY: He is a demon from some weird mix of Dante's Inferno and the Greek mythology underworld. He has the ability to control fire. He used to look a bit different, and I did design him myself. I kinda hope his design reflects some aspect of his personality to others.

EXPLAIN RATING: For me, there's nothing that really sticks out about him that deviates from the typical demon. I personally feel the whole bad boy vibe with demons is a bit of a cliche but I see that growing up in poverty and having to struggle for cash would explain this so in the context of the story it works but it just doesn't stand out. I'd like to see more that separates him and gives him personality other than all black and horns.
YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME: Brewer
ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER: A deliverer type that works at his parent's Breakfast Buffet as a waiter with aspiring dreams crushed of being an oneirologist like his father was before he passed away.

Reason why: His design is so cute! His avatar looks like he's mad and his expression just makes him so adorable xD. I love his outfit and I think his colors fit really well. I think the accessory on his head is adorable! I love the amount of detail, it's simple, yet detailed and not too detailed. Overall, very good character design. (I'm not good at explaining but I try)
My character's name: Seith
Anything I'd like to say about my character: I am unsure what others think about him and I'd really like to know and especially if I am okay at designing characters. Otherwise, not really much.
Rating: 8/10
Reason: I really love his color palette, so fiery and it all fits very well together! I took 2 points away because some colors are too bright to me. Maybe that’s just a personal preference but overall very cool :) Also the heterochromia might be a bit too much? :0 The eye colors could be a bit different so the eyes stand out more.

Anything I’d like to say: They’re a cyborg created in a world of high tech. They most likely were a human being before, but has been taken in as a test subject. Now what remains from human characteristics is only rage and anger. They’re very new shdhsjs I just wanted to play with designs and what could stand out when making a character like this.

Reason: They really caught my eye! They have a beautiful gender neutral design. They have such a unique design, especially for a nun! I was surprised, I know that there aren’t as many people who play with the nun concept as there should be! I also love their muted color palette, Although I think I would like a hint of red in one or two more spots? BUT that is just me being really picky. Otherwise this design is so solid I could see it being used in a multitude of things.
My character’s name: Kaspar
Anything I’d like to say: Kaspar is a 26 year old prince who tends to be hidden from the world. He sneaks out and escapes to nature every so often. He loves to dance, sing, and play the flute. He also is a self taught botanist. He has gray hair growing from his head from stress!

EXPLAIN RATING: I actually really love his design! I think it´s the gray of his hair together with the colors on his clothing that makes it so pleasant to look at for me. The only ,,complaint" i have is that to me, the boots look a bit out of place, because their color looks a bit dark and muted in comparison to the others colors. Maybe add a bit more of that color to his upper body to balance it out? But that´s just me being picky, lol. His design is totally good the way it is.
YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME: Anthos
ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER: He´s a son of Aphrodite who trained to be an assassin for several years over in Ares-Clan, just to earn his money as a prostitute on the streets. He´s actually very intelligent, though it´s hard to tell when he´s all drunk and partying.

Reason: They really caught my eye! He has a really nice design that looks simple to draw yet goes well with him! I love how he is a different skin tone, which is rare to see and I also love how you have his hair style! It is very unique! the gold tints of his outfit just makes his whole design flow nicel! Only thing I would like to see would be maybe a design or print in his tangtop,though that’s just my love for more complex designs xD I do love the fact that he looks like a cinnamon roll but a trained assassi.
My character’s name: Caesar
Anything I’d like to say: Caesar is my main protagonist in my novel, besides that Caesar has horrible eye sight from a incident that Has left him with scars but he refuses to wear glasses or contacts and would rather squint to see. He isn’t very sociable anyways so he doesn’t mind squinting at people. He does have A problem with his scars though and this leads to him always wearing long and tight clothing, he doesn’t like showing his skin that much. His design was based around my love for turtle neck styled clothing 😂 he is one of my oldest character.

EXPLAIN RATING: I do think the design is a tad too simple, I think some accessories or a design on the clothing would definitely spice things up, but if he's going for the minimalistic style then I suppose it's alright! The scars are something you don't see very often in a design, so it makes him that much more unique. Now that I think about it, most main characters in novels have very simple designs, as the reader only needs a few key details to recognize them throughout the story, if that makes sense! All in all, he has very nice hair pfft

ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER: His design is fairly recent, she uses they/she/he pronouns, and they're genderfluid and pansexual. Their design is part of a closed species, and cherry scented things always make me associate with a certain memory this design is based off of ^^

explanation: this design really caught my eye because i've got quite the bias for white hair... and i really like the warm and muted color palette! it gives me the impression that he's a kind and also grounded/calm person :o i also like how simple the design is! you don't have too many colors going on, and his outfit looks nice and appealing without having a ton of details to complicate it. maybe you could add another color to him to really make him pop? a small detail that contrasts against the reddish browns and whites, but his profile says he's shy so perhaps he'd rather not draw attention to himself?

anything i'd like to say: i've had him for like 6 years but i haven't changed much about his design at all except for hair style and other small stuff. his sweater vest + khakis look is his classic one and i'm interested in seeing what ppl think about him!

explanation: Going through his gallery really made me happy for some reason lol. Forrest's design is very fitting to their personality, too! Even without reading his bio I got his general ~vibes~ just from looking through a few of his images. I personally think he looks better in warmer colors (the pinks make him look extra sweet imo) but the iconic green sweater vest fits him extremely well and gives him that studious look! A simple design for a simple man. I can understand why you haven't changed his design, because this one works just fine! I can't think of much to change aside from a few new outfits here and there :)

anything i'd like to say: She's a fandom OC for Pokemon and probably one of the oldest OCs I have. I came up with her when I was in 7th grade and haven't ever really changed her since then!

EXPLAIN RATING: She's so cute, just looking at he profile brings a lot of happiness, really bright, in all her images she's always smiling, love her shiny hair and her design is easy to remember, simple but also really recognisable, her appereance fits her personality which are really like!! Love the idea of a ditto taking the shape of her former trainer, have never seen something like it before! In general is a really great design, mostly for being like an old oc that you haven't changed at all!
YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME: Laura
ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER: I've had her since 2010, she's an Epic Mickey fandom OC, there's not much info about her yet, her design has changed a bit through the years (not shown in TH tho),also, haven't added this version yet but she's half animatronic, some of her body is made of toon but other isn't, unless thinner falls on her you can't see her animatronic parts, and that would be it besides she's a guard (she's 1'5 but is based on how in something says that mickey mouse is 2'0)

the first reason why it's a 8 out of ten is that the art style reminds me a lot of old Disney, something you'd see in the 1900s, or bendy the ink machine. I absolutely love the old Disney movies and styles, since I grew up with them in a way. the second reason why it's an 8 out of ten because she's a rabbit, I have a really soft spot for rabbits, they make me really happy. and the third reason, KINGDOM, I absolutely love kingdom au's and stories, they are my guilty pleasure.
