A simple and sweet concept for those who are second-guessing their Character designs. Simialir to a Character Rating thread, this will more focus on the Design rather than the backstory or any information of the character. That way you can secure a great design before you set them up in a story or even an RP. (I do realize many people prefer to get their story done before locking down on a design, but this is for those who don't or are just looking to get advice on their designs.)
Rules

❀Try to avoid rating the same character multiple times.
❀The Character you post to be rated must have a Full-Body piece of art.

❀Ratings are given out of ten with an explanation. If you don't do so, you will get a warning.
❀Only post one character at a time by using the IC option.
❀Do not post Characters that do not belong to you.
❀Please put effort when it comes to rating a character. Don't just slap in "I like their colors!" as the only reason. Go into depth and try to find both the pros and cons of each design. If you want people to explain their ratings with good reasoning, do the same. A minimum of 3 sentences would be a good rule to go by when it comes to rating a character.

EXPLAIN RATING: I do love the colors, though the face design looks a little plain compared to the rest of the character. I would suggest adding some accessories or maybe even spicing up the face with a unique mark? Maybe a cute black mole in the shape of a heart under her right eye?

EXPLAIN RATING: Woah!!! First thing opening the design I get hit with a lot of stuff going on. I really like the vibe, and am always a fan of B&W or natural colors with bright accents, but it seems like a lot of content with all the mushrooms and clothing details and such.

Ex.=I really like the concept of the character. Super cute. But I feel like from a character design standpoint it has nothing unique to it. I feel like I've seen this character a thousand times over and I reckon it'd be hard to remember them based on their design. I think it would be greatly improved if you added some design elements that reflect the keyboard god thing. Nothing too elaborate, just something small to keep thr design simple. That'll make the character more memorable and their design would contribute to telling their story. ^^
My character: Tom
What I think: I designed Tom a couple different times. What I valued most making his design was how so many aspects of his design play into his actions in the story. Please critique him hard!

EXPLAIN RATING: very nice looking character!! i like the blue-ness of everything and the scarf is a major plus :33 however, besides the kickass outfit, his face looks kind of flat. i think adding some extra facial features like scars, beauty marks, facial hair, or anything that just makes the face stand out would be nice. OR maybe u could add highlightz 2 the hair??? anything works honestly. though im a BIG fan of simplicity, and only small things could b added

EXPLAIN RATING: I love the color choices and the hair is just such a stand out part of the design. You can really get a feel for his personality just by looking at the design. I love the simplicity of it as well, there's not too much going and it WORKS if he had more going on I think he would look super cluttered. Their hat and hair combo reminds me of a jellyfish which I am a big fan of, not sure if that was on purpose or not but has a really cool effect. I really like the two rings that are included, they stand out since they have different colors. The one thing I would add is maybe a little more of the pink from the ring, in the form of other jewelry or accessories, a little pop of color would be nice!

ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER: I watched almost famous and decided i had to make a character based on the concert scene and i love modest mouse lol
My Rating: 8/10!!
Explanation: My first impression is that his profile coding looks really cool! Especially with the Night theme. I haven't seen that specific code before and I like how the dashed lines draw the eye, and how the accent colors match the character! There's lots of little details about his profile information (such as the quote (who is he speaking to?), mention of other characters and story events that allude to a bigger story and I wanna know more!! What is Outlast? What are the Trials? Who's Murkoff? My main complaint is that there's nothing to provide further information - but that's just personal opinion and nothing actually against Elias haha. I like his appearance and the fact that he's a typical rough n gruff character without his story being too edgy or intense.

Explanation: To start with the design, I think it is incredibly visually pleasing and has a good distribution of colors and shapes -- the dark blue balances well with the sandy beige-cream color in a way that space-designs often lack, and the rounded spots contrast well with the subtle stripes in a way that looks very natural and draws the eye to main areas of focus without being jarring. The black halos are gorgeous and I really like their placement, and this dragon designs is quite honestly one of the most effective I've seen at conveying a visual motif in an effective way that isn't too forceful with its themes, allowing the character to be something more than just a design.
Speaking of something more, the story is really interesting, and I'm fascinated with the direction you took with it -- a lot of the tropes are ones that are often avoided, such as specifications of good magic and evil magic, the protagonist having unique magic compared to others, etc -- but if you touch on these themes with nuance I can see them going really far to use well-established tropes to allow the audience/reader/viewer to question those same expectations. I think I get the sense you already are doing this because of how Imos being described as self-absorbed also reflects his rigid opinions as being counterintuitive to Equinox and her story, and so I think the story will be really good.
Being a new character, I can't judge on how certain details seem undecided, as that's the nature of storytelling. I genuinely do like this character overall, and I can see her becoming a solid 10/10 once the story is developed more! I love the earnesty and care put behind it, and I love how it refrains from the pitfalls a lot of modern stories of the genre fall into (particularly, when they feel the need to subvert every trope), and I really like how well the themes of the story shine through in the character and her design!!
My character: Spark Iskra
Additional information: She's the protagonist of my manga, so her whole story is finished! She's my favorite of all my OCs, but please don't let that bias you -- I want to see what you genuinely think of her!!

( also Lolita Fashion has nothing to do with the book and isn't problematic!! Even though it has the same name the two are not correlated, and the fashion style was originally a feminist fashion style that started in the 70s and solidified in the 90s. It was a way for especially women to not cater to what we would now call the male gaze, but unfortunately a lot of people hear the name and think that it's named in correlation with the book. In fact, the point of the fashion is to dress cute for oneself and is intentionally a non-sexual fashion, and so it has nothing to do with anything sexual in any form despite what people outside the fashion assume!! And keeping with that, I chose the fashion style for Spark not only because I'm interested in it myself, but also because the origins of the style have the same intentions of non-sexualized beauty that I prefer in designs! Also sorry if there are any typing mistakes, on my phone rn!!)

I love the vibe he gives off and I like how you considered his outfits in light of his lifestyle. He looks very good.
I personally would change the chains so that they lead to a focal point, which would give the character's outfit more flow? Maybe get rid of the one going across the chest so the one going to the face stands out more!
I might also make the silver diamonds on his torso a darker color so they have less contrast and the focus will be drawn more to the face.
But again, I love this man to bits and pieces!!! I need to state it for the record that his hair is the best thing ever.

Firstly, let's start with what I like:
I appreciate that you made her a girly-girl—without being a dumdass lol. Media always somehow find the need to potray strong woman like these respectless 'savage' who goes against the system and whatnot. It's cool, but way overdone. So thanks for this.
Additionally, I like that though she's clearly a confident extrovert, she's not an impulsive loud-mouth or just plain agressive. Which is usually how fire users are potrayed. Again, kudos to you.
Plus, her pref for metal accesories is both creative and practical. Fun idea.
Imo, her design is far more elegant and almost demure looking /pos. She really does look like a soft pricess who specieslises in something like water, light or maybe even song related magic.
Now, for what I don't like (reminder, these are completely biased cause they're based on my own pref and opinion so don't take it too personally)
As mentioned, her design is not what I think or have seen in lotsa fire users. I would def do a double-take if someone said Jodie was a fire user.
I'm kinda surprised she dislikes her family? Aside from feeling alienated, she doesn't seem to have many terrible instances with them. Than again, you can't control your feelings so mweh
Her colour scheme works well together—but I wish it had more oomph, y'know? Like maybe eyes that glow when she uses her powers? Just a thought
I think that's all. Not much too critique tbh, was just worried I might sound harsh or too nitpicky. Anywho, I giva ya girl a solid 7/10.

I give him an 8/10 objectively, since he's just fine and his colors don't clash too much, but subjectively a 7/10 because although his hair may be stylistic, it doesn't really sit right with me?
First off, his values are actually okay. A lot of the time, pastels aren't done in an appealing manner that properly guides your eyes through a character's design. Beau's bow accent color is nice for that reason.
Anyways, I don't want to seem nitpicky but him being an actual toy doesn't feel like it's executed to it's full potential. His hair just feels a little bit off, being on a plush. Also the lack of stitching and seams he's got, especially on his stomach and inner ears. It just feels kind of disjointed?
Anyways. I don't have too much nitpicking to do, like I said he's a nice design, he just could be pushed a little further I feel. He also doesn't strike me as a servant of some kind, but who says a sentient toy needs to look the part.
NP, don't ping me, and if you're going to say Martell is too simple for you could you elaborate why? I've never understood that critique. Otherwise, be harsh. I don't mind.
