(The video isn't available in my country, and all I could find is an instrumental version of the song) It sounds really transient! It makes me recall of Yoko Shimomura's peaceful compositions? Like the music used for Somnom Woods in ML:DT-- I really love the beat in the chorus and this is such a BOP to listen to? I'm loving this so far! Can't get the instrumentals out of my head <3
This is from a song series so the lyrics may be confusing but i'm posting it here <:3 (cw: death mentions)
'The kingdom had a state-run orphanage for girls.
These orphans would be adopted one by one, beginning with the eldest girls.
I beheld them with eyes full of envy, as their smiling new families came for them…’
'Their life is beginning anew, and everything will change for them. I’m certain of it.’
'It’s her turn next…’
On her birthday, she was taken in
as the Cardinal’s daughter.
But she could not be happy,
for the desirous look in his eyes made her uneasy.
She shared her troubles with the moon,
and on that night she unintentionally eavesdropped on a conversation.
'They sure have worrisome tastes…’
'They take the memories, eyes, and limbs of different children
and combine them to make their ideal girl.
Their beloved dolls are made from their young lovers, and even from their own adopted children.
They don’t see them as human beings. They are lying philanthropists…!’
'I heard His Grace wants that girl’s beautiful eyes.’
'And from her eyes, beautiful teardrops fell…'
If he only wanted her eyes,
she would sooner crush them than let him have them!
Yet even her rage was hollow, and she fell into resignation.
Were her elder sisters from the orphanage,
who had been adopted before her, still alive?
She’d thought they’d found happiness, but…
She dreamt a long dream. A pale dream.
A deep, gentle dream that felt like it lasted an eternity.
She was jolted awake, and when she opened her eyes,
all the orphanage’s teachers had become corpses.
'You know, the the witch killed them all…
I was so scared…’
‘“Even the Cardinal’s been killed,” one of the young girls cried.’
'Why…? Could it have been… for us…?’
She went to the witch, who, having finished what she came for, made to leave orphanage, and knelt before her.
'What is it? Do you want to die too?’
When silence met her question, she firmly gripped her throat.
Amused, she seemed to take a keen interest in her.
The Pale Witch smiled, and tested her by whispering:
'I see. If you’re prepared never to return, then follow me.’
'While thinking back to the memories of her past, she looked at her blood-stained hair.’
'My life begun again on that day. I’m certain of it.’
'She threw away her emotions, and knelt to the witch.
That became the girl’s ― Ciruela’s ― reason to live.
