"My, my, my. Look at you, look at you. :)" Smiley breathed eagerly while dragging his sledgehammer with him. He stopped a few feet away, tilting his head to the side. "What a lovely mask you have. Lovely, lovely. :) But there's no smile. Oh dear, oh dear. :) Without a smile, how can I tell if you're happy? :)" He tilted his head to the other side. "But you have such a fun energy. Such a happy energy. :) How confusing, how confusing. :)"
He dropped his hammer and walked closer to Baghead just in time to see a blue slug slide into view. Smiley paused, then picked it up oh-so gently. His fingers were tingling. The poison was being healed as it happened, though it was ticklish, funny feeling that made him all the more enthusiastic. "So many friends you can make. How lucky, lucky! :)" he praised before looking at Baghead. After a pause, Smiley reached out and put the slug over where the mouth would be, moving it to look like a smile. "There! How wonderful. :)"
"That was such a wonderful family. So happy, so cheerful. :) Lovely, lovely. :) They're busy painting right now! :) When they're done, I'll bring you over so you can see all of their hard work. I'm sure they'd appreciate it! :) And here. :)" Reaching inside his flannel, Smiley pulled out a paper bag with a smiley face drawn on it and handed it to Hala. "Such a big, bright smile should get a bag for moments you need to rest. :)" he said while patting her head like one would a child.
"I hope we meet again real soon. :) But until then, there's someone else I have to visit. Again. :)"
He wasn't talking to Hala.
