Smiley PicklePantry

"My, my, my. Look at you, look at you. :)" Smiley breathed eagerly while dragging his sledgehammer with him. He stopped a few feet away, tilting his head to the side. "What a lovely mask you have. Lovely, lovely. :) But there's no smile. Oh dear, oh dear. :) Without a smile, how can I tell if you're happy? :)" He tilted his head to the other side. "But you have such a fun energy. Such a happy energy. :) How confusing, how confusing. :)"

He dropped his hammer and walked closer to Baghead just in time to see a blue slug slide into view. Smiley paused, then picked it up oh-so gently. His fingers were tingling. The poison was being healed as it happened, though it was ticklish, funny feeling that made him all the more enthusiastic. "So many friends you can make. How lucky, lucky! :)" he praised before looking at Baghead. After a pause, Smiley reached out and put the slug over where the mouth would be, moving it to look like a smile. "There! How wonderful. :)"

"That was such a wonderful family. So happy, so cheerful. :) Lovely, lovely. :) They're busy painting right now! :) When they're done, I'll bring you over so you can see all of their hard work. I'm sure they'd appreciate it! :) And here. :)" Reaching inside his flannel, Smiley pulled out a paper bag with a smiley face drawn on it and handed it to Hala. "Such a big, bright smile should get a bag for moments you need to rest. :)" he said while patting her head like one would a child.

"I hope we meet again real soon. :) But until then, there's someone else I have to visit. Again. :)"

He wasn't talking to Hala.

Hala Oidekivi Vapor

"As strange as others may call you, it is wonderful that you do so much to enrich peoples' lives!" Hala exclaimed. She was completely, utterly oblivious to what horrors lied behind that paper bag, brightly smiling. Maybe that was just ketchup. She liked ketchup! With glittering eyes, she looked up to him, her hands clasped together in a way that could only be described as... oddly adoring.

Did Smiley deserve it? No. Not for coming into Vapor's dream and attempting to murder her. But Hala thought he did.

"Are you not just the sweetest man?" She sighed almost dreamily. Naively. Because she was an idiot and a fool but Smiley was so good. He even hid his face so that his good deeds would not be traced back to him! That was the definition of a good Samaritan only in it for the good of his heart, not for the good of his reputation! "But, erm, I don't believe I've seen the family you were talking to last around here." she then added, "They usually come by every day! ..Huh. Maybe they're just too busy today..."

Four "Mine" Aloofcloud

"We seem to have the same anxieties." Four's voice is soft as she speaks, with a tremor in her voice that shows her nervousness. "Still, I admire your love for literature, and the whole falconry thing is quite interesting in itself- I think I'd be too scared to be that close with such a majestic creature." Her lips twitch up as she speaks- though there's irony in her words.

"My words may not mean much- but there is no such thing as perfect and that kindness, and gentle air you give to everyone else, I think you could extent to yourself as well.  I know it's hard-" Four pauses, awkwardly brushing some loose strands of hair behind her ear.  Seems the woman was speaking from experience. "I'll- I'll stop rambling now, I apologize if I stepped out of line or anything-" It was not her place to speak on a strangers problems, the brown and pink haired woman decided it was best to scurry off.

"I've never seen such colorful hair before," Marius says, almost enchanted by it while his eyes stay glued to the pink in Four's hair. A pause. "And it's always nice to see another fox."

Coco Holmes CometTheMountainLion

“You sir are such a strong and rugged warrior. Losing a loved one or very close associate to murder can do that to you. Aside from being descended from the great detective Sherlock Holmes, I had an aunt that was killed in the terror attack of September 11. I also really like how you have some good friends and can lead a group well.”

Karissa Marquez (Karissa - Telepachu Form) Sammi_is_Bampal_007

“You’re a descendant of Sherlock Holmes? That’s really cool..” she says quietly.

Xander Klingelhof fizzelston

"I've never seen someone like you before," Xander said. As he gently rearranged his papers. "Oh, how delightful," he told Karissa with a big smile. "I do always find it interesting to meet new people. Especially those that doesn't dress like, well," he placed the papers down and haphazardly pointed at his own outfit. "with a lot of furs and waistcoats. Ah. Old fashion maybe, if I do say so myself, dear."  He laughed. Then rearranged the glasses on his nose, before looking at Karissa with a soft frown. "Can you maybe tell me a bit about yourself? Or.. This Tele-pac-hu, you have been talking about? I am always looking for some new inspiration for my plays, you see and maybe… Just maybe, you can give me that spark."

--

"Thank you," he smilled as he rubbed Blou's head. His smile strained at the next set of words, and he frowned. But brushed off with a quick breathy laugh. "Oh of course. I rarely have to explain myself... A lot of people seem to know me," he accidentally humblebragged. "I am a opera singer and a stagewriter. Mostly focusing on the latter now... I like automobiles and birds… I make some fine pear tarte tatin. You should try a slice if you like."

"I would gladly like to try. It would be nice for me to take a break from my travels and eat something."

----

"I like the way you like birds..." Rhuna muttered as she rearranged her glaive, while her tail swinged side to side in amusement. "SO beautiful and elegant... yet can easily be killed." She leaned against the nearest wall. "I'd like to hear more in what you are into. Enlighten me."

----

Rhuna was before the woman in shock. "Why.. thank you..." Rhuna muttered under her breath. She hasn't been spoken to like this in a while. "Thank you for your kind words. I believe parents can be quite harsh at times. It can scar us. For life."

Brandy blinked as she stood before Rhuna. There were a lot of things the hamon user could say, but she wanted to keep her words quick.

"I'm impressed," she started. "It's not every day where I see someone with your attitude. I mean it in the best way possible. I know you've lost so much, and you've probably gotten used to not caring about what others say...but still." The girl shrugged with a smile, "you fight for what you want and you don't say sorry. That's great."

"And..." her voice went to a whisper, "don't tell anyone this, but...I'm glad I'm not the only person who isn't on the best of terms with their parents. Is it bad that I like that about you?" She let out a nervous laugh. "Oh well, anyway..."

-

v Brandy blinked as if she had just come up from water. "Wait, what?" She raised an eyebrow. "Oh, that came off wrong. Just...huh, I never had someone say something like that to me before. But you're from a different time, so I guess the standards are as well. Thanks for the nice words."

Gwen Steffani muichiro

"Uh."

Gwen's eyes drift to the side before snapping back to Brandy. Giving compliments on spot was a little.. difficult, so to say; even though she had very many redeeming qualities about her. Adjusting his posture, he stands taller and brings a hand to rest fingers on the back of his neck. "I like your ability to work hard and make a place for yourself in society. Being a woman seems.. hard. N-Not that I'd know anything about it, uh; obviously." Internally, he feels himself beginning to shrink with embarrassment. "But.. it's great that you're not giving into the normalcy and you're bringing a better future for girls down the line. That's pretty admirable."

Litchi Baisol

"My, my, i've never seen a human like you before-" Litchi marveled up at Gwen, his pink irises staring up in amusement. "Your strenght is certainly something special for this world!"

V OH I JUST SAW THAT! i love that tysm

Maribelle Burnett Vapor

Litchi was a fascination, a statement of humankind's progress.

Maribelle would never reach that same recognition, she thought. Sure, she didn't know about Litchi's own... lack of humanity, but rather, it was all thanks to what he worked on that caught her eye. "Your creations..." she spoke in the quietest voice, "What you focus on, your..." She wasn't sure what to call the machines. Even the word 'machine' was alien to her. And, sure, all of this left her with some feeling of inadequacy -- she didn't perceive him as much older than her -- but... to meet someone with such love for their studies, it...

She was quiet for a long time. It was, once again, a fascination of hers. These fields she wished had been spoken of to her more often, with no interjection of fantasy, most adored by her. But, eventually, she settled on simpler words.

"The night sky is... interesting to me as well... sometimes..." Maribelle spoke in that soft, disjointed voice of hers, "I simply do not meet many people who care for it."

Hachi 99centsoda

Vapor ping since it's been a while!

"Hm. Well...." Hachi was awful with words, he tended to spit them out wrong or well-disingenuine depending on the moment. Either his own ineptitude to interact with others in a meaningful manner or straight-up people-pleasing if it suited him better. Maribelle he didn't have to do the latter with, though, and that was a start. "You don't sugarcoat anything, I can tell. It makes whatever you say matter, 'cus I know it's real. There's so much...." Hachi pauses as he searches for the word. He, in fact, was guilty of this in his own right. Because he was weak, he wanted people who could crush him into dust to like him. "Fake stuff, to wade through. Hard to say who's a friend and who's just pretending. You know what it's like, don't you?"

NV PicklePantry

"I have everything. You see that in me? What an optimistic view. You must see great things in people. To see me as better, as free, it humbles me. I've met someone better than me even at despair." NV slid their hands into their pockets while looking at Alistair. "How sad that you can't see your own beauty, better than a porcelain doll or the finest painting. Have you gotten used to it? Being stared at to the point of feeling like a trophy, or a fine diamond? Is it torture? And yet you still see so much in others. You see me and you see freedom, you see someone who shouldn't envy anything. Even with such bitterness, your voice still sings like a bird."

(Old friend   I'll get to a follow up one of these days!)
