Illanya's white eyes flick around the crew, her expression a little uneasy, but at least she wasn't as defensive or tense as she had seemed before around the crew of the Spectre. It's clear though that her expression immediately brightens upon seeing the captain.
Truthfully, when Yohai had offered to cut Illanya's hair, the undead had been unsure. The last time someone had touched her hair... well it wasn't a very happy memory. Despite any jokes Illanya might've made, her hands had nearly run the fabric of her pants thin by how much she'd tugged at them.
So to say she was thrilled with the result, was an understatement. The captain had kept her promise and hadn't given Illanya any permanent bald spots. Something she'd forever be grateful for, really. Perhaps it was the situation's probability of going badly that made the undead appreciate it even more. She'd warmed up significantly more than before, easing the guard she'd clung to for so long.
"Yohai! Hey, do you have a minute?" The undead asks, her rough voice a little happier than it's typical flat drone, as she approaches. Illanya coughs unnecessarily, "So, I know you said that you would let me off at the next place the ship docks..."
The death knight trails off, her white eyes flicking to where the vague shadows of land can be seen, getting ever closer.
"Erm, would you mind if I stayed? At least until your next stop after." Illanya is quick to supply the alternative after her request, looking slightly nervous. "It's just that... the city we're stopping at. It's nowhere near where I was heading, and I just..."
Her hands pinwheel in the air as Illanya searches for a better explanation but finds none that would likely satisfy the captain.
"Okay, it's just that. This is one of the first times since I died where I was treated like a person. Even the ones who used to treat me kindly back in the... well" Illanya makes a vague gesture downwards, "They treated me like a weapon, barely more than a soldier. Maybe one that could kill them, but still. It wasn't exactly a nice experience."
Gah, she hated articulating things like this. Odd how it became harder after she died. Illanya runs a hand down her face and heaves a sigh.
"I don't know. I'm just grateful for the hospitality. But I don't want to overstay my welcome of course."
@ NP: Anyone from here would be great^^
