Was it not basic decency to look to the law for guidance? To loathe vilification in all its forms?
Apparently not for Olethros. The abuse of power was so commonplace, and even now, after however many years she spent in hibernation, she still sensed it all around her. Hell, she probably didn't even need her so-called "powers" to tell that was the case. But, given all of this, the knowledge there was little right with the world, she had good people to look forward to. Alex seemed good. She hoped she was right.
But, it wasn't the faults of the system that she chose to speak of, as she climbed out of the swamp to meet him again. Muddy water rolled down her face, grime clung to her hair, and she just stared at him. For a while, it stayed that way, until she finally spoke on a thin, airy rasp, "I have not had crepes. Not in so long. I think. Lalagia, yes. They're good with cinnamon and honey."
Olethros crept closer to Alex, slowly easing to her feet. "I think loukoumi is better than both of them. I might be able to make orange loukoumi for you." Considering how filthy she was, maybe it was for the best Alex turn down that offer. "For your crepes... loukoumi. I think I still remember how to make it..."
