If I haven't commented on your art in one of these threads before, then that's a crime, because I've long admired it. Your art is so lovingly detailed and draftsmanlike-- I couldn't hope to know a fraction of all the historical details you do, but I always love seeing your art and characters because your passion for the research and your interests is incandescent and inspiring. You put so much effort into your art and I love your painting style, the soft but colorful way you render shadows and highlights-- it's different from what I usually see on Toyhouse, but between the style and the grand posing you use for some characters, your art often reminds me of oil paintings.

I've claimed you in this thread before, so I'll talk about a piece of yours that I like!

This is gorgeous-- I'm sure I've said before that I admire your real media work, but there's so much texture in this, and the contrast between the white piercing eyes and snow?freckles?stars?, the deep stony blue washes, and the black lines makes for a compelling image. The picture stood out to me in your gallery and when I look at it closer, it's like he's staring into my eyes-- it has a quiet intensity.

hedgemaze okay the first thing to pop out is ur really nice use of colors and shading! ur lighting is really good and it feels natural! i also love the action and overall “flow” of your art if that makes any sense? like, theres usually a clear line of action in the poses and all and it’s eye pleasing! i also like the thick outlines in that one style of yours, it’s cute! all in all i like how your art is colored so well and your simplistic but also detailed style!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, I love your style and the whole fresh cartoony look it has. It's honestly very encouraging to someone like me to know I'm not the only one with a style similar to this! That aside, I really admire how ambitious you are with your animations and art in general! I saw those clips you made, those uh, music memes? THOSE WERE GREAT and truly inspiring! That aside, I adore how your characters come out and how you drew my OC that one time, he looks perfect AH! I also really like how you do the pupils in eyes? That's a really neat touch I think.

Overall, I think your art has amazing great ambition and potential that I can truly admire. Your style is cute but has the ability to carry those more sinister tones, but in a way that is done light enough to go with your story telling, a bit of fun to the dark themes your characters have. Which I love!

Skulltopus I admire your ability to draw characters with different body shapes and sizes, you do it very well. Also, I like how you've avoided Same Face Syndrome, since your (humanoid) characters are given subtle differences. Your coloring and shading is also really pretty, and it all blends well. I love the expressiveness your characters have, as well; they often have really exaggerated expressions, and it's so enjoyable to look at. Overall, your style is very appealing.

Okay, for one thing, I LOVE your colors. All your palettes are really soft and shiny, it makes a lot of your work look polished! Secondly, I just really like how you line things? Everything is very swooshy (if that's a word, you know what I mean) and flowy and it guides the eye along very nicely. Also, your art is very neat?? Like other than the sketches (which are supposed to be messy) your lines are really clean. Awesome work!

First of all, your style is so fun! Your art genuinely looks like it could be from a current cartoon or comic strip; it's expressive and polished, and your character designs are distinct and always say a lot about the characters while never being cluttered. Plus, they're just easy to look at. You're good at showing a line of action in your art, and that gives everything you draw energy and motion. Your art is also very cute! There's something about the way you draw characters' wide eyes and mouths that's really appealing.

Also, I love your rubberhose grayscale 1920s animation-style drawings: it's nostalgic and a style I rarely see people use (outside of, say, Cuphead), and you understand it well.

But I really like how you color and how soft the lines seem to look, and how the expressions on the character's faces look too. I like the hair too, some look so nice and soft and nicely colored xD I just love seeing how people color hair so much lol

also I love this piece and this piece and this piece so much; They're all completely different but I just love how they look ;o; especially the last one wow it's simple but bold in a way XD

My art

You have a really good grasp on human anatomy. All of the poses you draw look natural. The colors are also very nice to look at, and the shading is great as well. I especially like how you draw hair. It has a really nice flow to it, and the lighting is done well. You're great at drawing clothing and understanding how it interacts (for lack of a better word) with the person wearing it. Awesome art overall.
