OC Word Association Game

Posted 6 years, 3 months ago (Edited 5 months, 18 days ago) by hedgemaze

I don't think I've seen this exact game here before, but I thought this would be fun. It's the reverse of the Describe in One Word the OC Above thread, kind of: the first person will post a word (any word, it doesn't have to be an adjective) and the next person will post IC as a character who suits that word, then pick a new word for the next OC!

For example:
Person 1: bird
Person 2: [posts IC as a gryphon, or an OC who loves their pet birds, or an OC named Robin?] danger
Person 3: [posts IC as a serial killer, or a first responder, or an OC into extreme sports?] neon
and so on...

Tips and rules:

  • When you respond to a prompt, mention how your character suits that word! You can respond IC or OOC as you wish.
  • Try to pick words that aren't so specific that they won't fit anyone's character, but words that can take clever interpretations are lots of fun!
  • Let's keep this clean and light-hearted; it's ok to mention dark or violent pasts, for example, but this isn't the place for in-depth gory or sexual answers.
  • Let at least two people post before going again. Try to vary the OCs you post, if you can.
  • If we get stuck on a word for a week, it's ok to make a new prompt and start from there.
  • Please do not skip anyone in this thread (unless we've gone a week without a response). If you cannot see the post above you because the poster or you have blocked each other, wait for another person to comment before replying to the thread. Feel free to bump the thread to encourage others to participate!
  • You can bump the thread as often as you like; I don't mind.
  • Have fun!

The first word is traveler!

All my forum games and threads

ASTROBOT hedgemaze

Here's this guy and his big guns. "Radar guns", he says...

Mother

 Zinaida Beleshkina Ledokol

In the crossover plot with my armament android OCs, she has been dubbed as 'the mother of USSR's nuclear-powered submarines' because she took part in the creation of the first nuclear submarine of the state - K-3 Leninskiy Komsomolsk. Since then, the industrial complex she oversees became the main force in construction of dozens of nuclear submarines for both the USSR and Russia. So in this crossover, she is often seen with several submarine androids surrounding her and call her Mom/Mother.

Glass

Lysande Hvítt Kirbygal

Lysande likes to collect mini glass or crystal figurines/ sculptures because he likes their delicate beauty, which is a contrast to his outgoing and kinda reckless personality xD He also really likes most modern architecture which includes primarily glass buildings, as well as older architecture such as aged churches with stained glass pictures.

Urban

Rinko Matsutake dogstarlite

Rinko lives in the city and loves urban exploration!!

Bone

Alesseia

Tsuki's a werewolf who likes bones.

Mephisto hedgemaze

Since it's been 3 days, I'm going to go with Mephisto, because he works at a circus sideshow where there would always be balloons.

I'm editing the OP with a new rule: if we get stuck on a word for 24 hours, it's ok to make a new prompt and start from there.

Next word: Ageless

Grandfather Milkman

Okay Grandfather look like in his 40s but he's practically a bit over a century and doesn't die anytime soon. So technically he's ageless.

Loyalty

 626 Vice-Admiral Kulakov Ledokol

I'd associate loyalty with Kulakov. He's especially devoted to the androids in the project 1144 Orlan, having served under the lead ship Kirov in the 80's. Nowadays he serves as a secretary to the fourth Orlan, Pyotr Veliky, and although their relationship seems awkward, Kulakov is always ready to protect his boss with his life.

Fearsome

Jubilee cosmicconundrum

she's completely, utterly terrifying--but you won't know that until you talk to her.

naive.

Jill hedgemaze

Jill is stubborn and self-righteous in a naive way. She thinks she always knows what's going on, but she doesn't.

Haggis hedgemaze

This guy's usually wearing a leather bomber jacket.

Extreme

 715 Bystryy Ledokol

I have not written his backstory yet but among the surviving surface ship androids of the Pacific Fleet, Bystryy is certainly being considered as 'extreme' for his silly show-off tendency. Other androids often give him a scorn because he always tries hard to prove his machismo to the point many times he put himself through some challenging situation and got injured/damaged, which his fleet mates deemed 'stupid and should be totally avoidable'.
