Honestly, he seems like a Jock? His art even has him stretching! He seems like the type of person to get super pumped over something small, and I feel like he might get along with a villager like Snake or Kid Cat; he reads as a very high-energy heck yeah let's go catch some BUGS type.

- You can pick any villager personality regardless of their gender, so you can totally give a smug type personality to a female OC, or a peppy type personality to a male OC etc. etc ^^

- Be careful not to misgender other OCs! Choosing any villager personality regardless of gender is great, but misgendering OCs is not.

reading through petrel's bio, i see him as either snooty or cranky. but perhaps snooty might fit him the most? he seems like the kind of person that would properly care for himself and look his best for people.. yet, he also looks down on everybody, trying to make himself look higher than the rest. he's also very solemn and doesn't seem the kind of person that would even put up with jokes or anything like that, acting more mature and such. however, at the same time, i see him having a really bad temper and usually comes off as really cold and bitter. he doesn't keep up with what's going on and such and doesn't seem to be the biggest fan of gossip and such? he seems like he'll get annoyed by the smallest things, well, atleast i see him that way. i see him as a mix of the two, but i feel like snooty fits him best?
If he angered more easily I'd be inclined to make him cranky, but... Yngvar's shy, humble, eager-to-help nature makes me think he'd be a normal villager!

from first impressions, Benji just.... really struck me as Lazy?? not as a dig against him in any way, but because something about his icon (and also what I remember of him in other posts) just screams "chill af." both he and that type of villager are just.... extremely laid-back and carefree, something that's definitely reflected in Benji's personality. hell, even the fact that he's fairly confident in himself and (at least tries to be) kind towards others are traits that he shares with Lazy villagers. also. for some reason, the fact that he probably watches Rick and Morty kind of makes me think of how Lazy villagers tend to make up a bunch of theories, seeing that the show does spark a lot of theoretical discussion... rip Benji if he ever got caught up in that though.
though based off his bio, that chill part only really applies when he's on the Weed(tm), so... might as well consider the sober part of him too.... ig the Lazy type applies even then, but you know.... including that darker twist to his personality.... he might lean a bit towards Smug or Cranky because he's more cunning, if NPCs count, Benji would probably function like Redd, but... I have no idea if that really works since I don't think Redd falls into a traditional Villager personality?? still, it'd be the closest to capturing Benji's sober side if I'm gonna be honest vufyvhfv-

I think Kaori would be a really friendly and happy to villager who is always excited about something but also kind of oblivious and sometimes a little over-enthusiastic! So I’d bet on the ‘Peppy’ personality!
Her relaxed nature paired with her tendency to get reckless during conflicts makes me think that she could be an Uchi villager!
I feel like he'd definitely be cranky! Both because of his personality being generally unpleasant and difficult to be around, but also it fits his love for his family since cranky villagers will talk about a niece that they're very fond of if you befriend them!
ngl..... Shane has major Lazy villager vibes to me...... it's stated in his profile that he's laid-back and a bit of a goofball, which tends to be accurate to what Lazy villagers actually are like. same goes for him being a pretty friendly and confident individual who just wants to have a good time. Lazy villagers in general also tend to be pretty present-oriented (or at least fairly relaxed with their lifestyle), and I get that energy from Shane; though... honestly... to be fair, that particular aspect isn't really voluntary because of his memory problems haha. Lazy villagers' love for telling stories once you befriend them can also be a bit of an allusion to Shane's love for conspiracy theories, where he doesn't really care if they're true or not because they at least make for good stories haha.
also, ik Shane is energetic af, but at the same time... giving him Lazy as a personality trait would provide an interesting contrast to his character haha. it'd also focus more on the underlying aspects of his personality instead of the ones that he reveals on the surface, which could be an intriguing meta reference to some of his deeper issues?? who knows... Animal Crossing personalities can be a bit limited in that regard, but I do hope my analysis does his character justice. :0c

- oh definitely tbh haha. Dolores has major mom friend vibes and she WILL try to spread them no matter what. I actually think sisterly wouldn't be a bad alternative either due to the care and protection that the personality gives to the player once befriended, but y e a that tough attitude is the opposite of Dolores's more reserved and shy demeanor lmao. :"))
I would say Normal. Dolores doesn't give off vibes of some of the other types of villagers, especially more of the sort of...negative/meaner types like smug/snooty/cranky/ect. She still has a relatively positive attitude, but she's not all in-your-face about it like a peppy villager, sisterly doesn't seem to fit, not all about the muscle pumping like a jock would be either, nor does she really seem all carefree like a lazy villager would be either. Plus she prefers normal-type Pokemon!
i would say lazy for ben, but i'm also stuck between that and smug? just for those times when he gets confident and stuff, it really reminds me of smug villagers. i don't really see them as super negative or anything, so it's hard but..yeah. i'll go with lazy. ben has a very easy going attitude for the most part, he's not out there super confident like the jocks are, i don't think sisterly fits him, peppy is too high energy, normal is..well, normal.. IM GOING WITH LAZY! he's easy to get along with and seems like he'd be a pleasant lad in game who talks about the weirdest shit.
