Bio

Brandishers, the craftsmen of the apocalypse.

Brandishers have the most humanlike instinct of any undead class. They craft and carry weaponry, and are easily identifiable by their brash creations. The weapons Brandishers create are visually chaotic (screws in nonsensical places, parts not properly attached, restricting the user's mobility) but are built for each the wielder's needs. Brandishers without their arsenal are the weakest undead class to fend against, but don't be deceived, they will remain strategic when lacking offense.

Notes

Weapon Formation What weapon a Brandisher will create for themselves depends on a variety of factors, and on occasion it may not be a weapon at all.
Brandishers instinctually know to use their own inabilities to their advantage and to put what what they lack into their firepower. For example a Brandisher with impaired sight might craft a weapon that doesn't require a good aim, or one missing a leg may commit to make a launcher that can attack long distance. Brandishers may also create a weapon that amplifies their pre-existing strengths. Cite Doc ID #2098 for source of evidence.

Resources It's built into Brandishers to know where to look for materials. Places like hardware stores or repair sites are generally warned about and the majority of survivors know not to visit, as areas like such are basically Brandisher spawning grounds.
We used to put warning signs around areas known to harbour Brandishers, but they adapted and implemented the harsh edges of the metal signs as scrap for their crafts.

Brandisher Plagiarism Brandisher's are instinctually smart, but not automatically creative (creativity may be based on the living counterpart, cite Doc ID #2098). If a Brandisher is lost for inspiration it may observe it's fellow Brandisher's creations for ideas.
Brandishers that crafted their weapon far from other Brandishers may create a poor weapon as a result, and as Brandishers are far and few many Brandishers lack solid and affective weaponry.

Brandisher Collaborations If a Brandisher meets with another Brandisher they may exchange weapons and add onto them before trading back, or help one another in ensuring the weapon they've created is truly the best it can be. This phenomenon is known as a "Brandisher Collaboration" and is surprisingly common for a class that's instinctually independent.
Outside of this Brandishers will not often assist each other. Somehow it's built into Brandisher instinct to bask in creation with one another wherever they get the chance. Anyone else will tell you that's terrifying, but I find it beautiful.

Tools Brandishers are far from perfect inventors. Although the human will to create remains in them, they've lost their ability to wield tools that they didn't forge.
The reason behind why Brandishers can use the tools they themselves made is because they were built by them for them, and they automatically know how to use what they created.
Brandishers may attempt to use tools to aid in making their weapons, but the way they will do so can be compared to that of a baby trying it's best to eat with cutlery, jambled, and the attempt is useless. They make their weapons with their bare hands, and will bash materials against hard surfaces in order to split them, hence why Brandishers are more often than not the most visually destroyed undead.
Brandishers fortunately are not quite smart enough to consider making their own tools to help form their final weapon.

Craft Theft Survivors may feel willed to steal a Brandisher's weapon after defeating one. We do this for plenty of reasons. The tools can be taken apart and used for scrap to repair vehicles or roofs, it can be used for it's fighting purpose, or out of fear that a fresh Brandisher may pick it up and use it (note that Brandishers will not do this, and it's a false fact spread by less knowledgeable survivors. Brandishers will not steal the premade weapons they discover, however they may take from them when building their own.)
