Stellar Tomorrow

"Hmm, this is just the first group, so we've got a huge haul this time! Good thing we're prepared!" Illiya winked at the ice types.

Behind himself, Vale heard Serrina's sobs, underneath Maya's attempts of comforting.

"Hey, uh, Selina, is that your name? Uh, did you see that guy Ciaran? He's the son of a god! Ain't that really cool?" She grinned at Serrina, trying to be kind, but Serrina only sobbed harder. Vale felt sorry for her.

"Alright, kiddos! Step right into the teleporter, and we'll get you to your academy!" Illiya spun around. "And then I'll give you a tour of Tuphere later, and you can exchange Amphone numbers to keep in contact with your friends!"

Illiya paused when Serrina sobbed harder. "Ah, are you okay, dear? You seem quite sad about this whole thing."

Serrina nodded and pulled her hoodie over her head as she walked into the teleporter.

"Alright, here we go. Teleporter, Icicle Academy!" Illiya took her own Amphone and placed it upside down at the control panel to confirm her identity as an amphite.

A light enveloped the teleporter room and suddenly, they were outside a place that reminded Vale of that ice castle in the movie about ice magic. He wouldn't have been surprised if Queen Elsa herself came out of it.

Illiya had the same thought, since she was humming the song that the queen sang. "Alrighty, come on in!" she said after having her musical moment. Illiya began to walk into the academy. and lead the group to a door."This is the classroom, where you'll be taught with the main teacher."

Vale sat down in a seat in the bottom right corner. Serena had the corner seat, so he sat next to her, figuring she wouldn't talk much or bother him.

"I gotta run to the next orientation ceremony, but I'll be back ASAP!" Illiya said, dashing out of the room. A crash was heard and Illiya yelled "OH NO!" a little after she had ran out. With a sigh, the blue haired teacher stood up.

"Good morning. My name is Miss Dakota Liddicoat, and I will be your teacher for the week you stay in Tuphere.

"What about our homes? A lot of us still have school." Maya waved her hand in the air.

"Not to worry, dear. Tupherian technology allows us to freeze time for those in the human world so you can do your training. However, later on, you may have to miss school for priority missions, but many schools and workplaces know about Tuphere. Just show them Amphone and you'll be excused." Miss Liddicoat explained as she tapped her fingers on her whiteboard. She then grabbed a clipboard. "Let's see. Vale Cristalle?"

"How do you know our names?" Maya asked once again, and the teacher sighed.

"Tupherian magic, dear." Miss Liddicoat then looked around the classroom. Vale sighed and put his hand up.

She continued to take roll, and she answered more of Maya's questions. Illiya finally came back with a bunch of other kids.

"This was the bigger haul of the two, and all classes have 20 students! That's the biggest yet!" Illiya grinned. "Here you go."

Miss Liddicoat nodded and the other kids took a seat. She began to explain most of what she had explained to Vale's group, and once the role call was totally finished, she paused.

"Here in Tuphere, monsters have been attacking for years. Elwin, miraculously, invented a device that would help people to transform into powerful forms. The Amphone, which is what teleported you all here." the woman began her long explanation about why they were here and what they would learn. Vale groaned, he'd have to listen to more explanations when he actually got to school. He always hated first days.

"Elwin didn't have a way to send them to you, at first. But, as Tupherian technology advanced, we all figured out more efficient ways of recruiting amphites. You aren't the first and you won't be the last amphites to come through this way. During this course, we'll learn the basics of amphite forms, how to unlock them, and more about Tupherian culture, among other things." She took a sip of water and turned to the door. "Come in everyone!"

A group of ten people came into the classroom. One stood out to Vale, she was on crutches and her leg was in a cast.

"In the Tupherian amphite academies, we learn combat basics with mentors in pairs of two. I will now assign you mentors." Miss Liddicoat pulled out her list.

"Glacia Issane will mentor Morgan Frost and Xue Fang Wen," the teacher began to read her list, and each mentor motioned for their chosen students to come near. "Glacier Issane will mentor Alaska Korsman and Frostine Amour. Glade Winterstorm will mentor Briar Coy and Barry Wouters. Jasper Icickle will mentor Jordan Revie and Bianca Vasilu. Lindy Barret will mentor Maya Peralta and Noel Parsnip. Nevada Snowe will mentor Everett Wilson and Claire Rowland. Roxy Ceuvus will mentor Rudy Douglas and Ledas Roberts. Storm Falle will mentor Leonis Summers and Krystal Nevin. Trinity Cordova will mentor Brandie Cunningham and Colden Masterson. And finally, Aurianna Flaxview will mentor Vale Cristalle and Serrina Winchilles."

Vale sighed and got up as the young woman on crutches, Aurianna, waved.

"Tomorrow, you will train with your mentor. For now, Illiya will lead you to The Fridge where you can get some food and exchange Amphone numbers with your friends. All of Elwin's helpers will be there to help you out if you need it."

Vale glanced back at Serrina as all the students stood up. A part of him was worried that, if they had to spar together, he would break her. A sigh escaped his lips as he followed Illiya, stomach growling slightly.
