Chapter 7

Vale’s next few classes were boring, especially the one where they went on a tour of Tupherian Square.

They learned about missions and how to accept them. There were certain buttons that allowed you to pick a mission you selected on the touch screen, or even view the mission you’ve picked. Missions ranged from combat to helping someone find certain objects. Vale really felt like he was in a real life RPG.

After that was the Nether Brigade, also known as the villains who were trying to destroy all the worlds. He learned the names of a few of their commanders, like Anne Archy, Alex Everbleed, and Litriva Galloway. Only they knew why they wanted to do it, the fact that they wanted to do it was all the Amphites knew. They had control over some of the towns, and could even summon monsters known as Nether Monsters. How creative.

The next day, he learned that, not only did the deities rule over the elements, they ruled over other things, too. Avala is the Goddess of ice, seasons, and wishes, Ferno is the God of fire, surprises, and joy, Lumis is the Goddess of electricity, weather, and justice, Grine is the God of earth, farming, and cooking, Liquire is the Goddess of water,  traveling, and fishing. Vivius is the God of light, fertility, and protection, Whispe is the Goddess of air, animals, and creativity, and finally Mortis is the God of darkness, family, and love.

The tour of Tuphere was uneventful, because it just showed Vale places he’d already seen when he, Ezzy, Alicia, Ciaran, and Serrina all went exploring after dinner.

Now, they were graduating from the academies, and Vale could finally, finally go home!

Each of the new Amphites were given badges with a symbol of their element on it, which they were supposed to display on their shirts, or jackets, or whatever. They were also given a certificate, also with the symbol on it. Then, they were lined up, in alphabetical order and by element.

"As of today, you are fully fledged Amphites. When you can, please accept missions. Keep your Amphone, diploma, and badge safe, and do your best out there! You all have lives ahead of you, especially those who are younger. Keep yourselves safe, and feel free to spend time around Tupherian Square and other places in this world. You are now free to meet up with friends, form guilds or parties, or look at guilds who are recruiting. When everyone has registered as a member of a guild or party, or has decided to go solo, we will allow you to go home. Ready, go!"

As soon as Elwin was finished speaking, Ezzy and Alicia walked up to him.

"Let's stick together." Ezzy said, humming softly. "V, do you wanna join a guild or make one?" Ezzy asked, looking at Vale, who shrugged.

"I mean, I don't really care about any of the people in existing guilds, so we can make our own." Vale mumbled. "We need a name though, right? Any id-"

Vale was cut off by shouting and begging in the direction of Ciaran, who looked a bit bothered.

"No thanks. I'm not joining your guilds or parties." he walked around the crowd, before stopping right next to Vale.

"Thought I got rid of you," Vale sent a... mostly teasing glance at the Darkness God's son. "As I was saying, any ideas?"

"You can't get rid of me that easily," Ciaran chuckled. "Wish I could get rid of that though." He motioned towards the crowd that was staring at him.

"Yeah, they're creepy." Ezzy groaned. "Hey, shoo! Back off!" she shouted, her booming voice startling most of them and making them back off. "As for names, I don't have any."

"How about Fight for Tomorrow?" Alicia suggested, "I like that one."

"Good idea, Alicia!" Ezzy smiled at her, "We ARE fighting for a better tomorrow, so that could work!"

"It's okay. I like the premise of it," Vale frowned a bit, "But it sounds... cliche."

"You're the artist, Vale." Ezzy teased, "You also know words. You and I, we're gonna lead this, okay? So, you come up with a name."

"What's a word for good, or something like that?" Ciaran suggest, "It's gotta sound snazzy."

"Stellar," Vale blurted out, "Stellar Tomorrow. Stellar also means relating to stars, so it'd be like 'tomorrow of the stars,' and it sounds sorta space-like. I think it's cool at least," he folded his arms.

"I like it, V!" Ezzy grinned, nudging him. "Just us five for now. If we need any more members, we'll find them, alright?"

"Okay!" Alicia grinned, before extending her hand. "Stellar Tomorrow on three! Then we'll go tell Elwin!"

The other three put their hands on top of hers and counted down, before shouting their guilds name, before Vale and Ezzy lead the group to Elwin.

"We're going to form a guild." Vale muttered. "It's going to be called Stellar Tomorrow."

"Okay!" Elwin smiled at them. "Who's the leader gonna be? Officially, you'll have on person listed as the leader and one as deputy leader, but you both could consider yourselves leader."

"I'll take the deputy position, V. You can be the leader It'll be good for you."

"I guess I'll be the official leader then." Vale shrugged.

"Okay then! Vale put your Amphone here, and Ezzy, put yours here. The rest of you can put yours anywhere else on the machine."

When they did that, Elwin pressed a button on the computer and it beeped for a while, before a green check appeared on screen.

"There you go. Go ahead and wait around while we wait for others to finish up." Elwin smiled at them. The gang picked up their amphones and began to walk away.

Behind them, a girl with brown hair dyed into a gradient to green with three braids, two down her shoulders and one thick one on the right side of her head blinked her green eyes and sighed. "Doesn't even notice me, huh? Silly little childhood friend! I'll make you remember!" she giggled before skipping to Elwin. "I want to register as a single, please!"
