Chapter 5

"Let's start with the forms of amphites and how to get them, and then we'll go meet someone in the square. It's by Rina's, so you won't be too far from a place you know." Miss Liddicoat began. "Once we're done with that, you can go meet with your mentors."

Vale listened. Considering the fact, he might actually use this information, unlike algebra, he figured he might listen. Serrina was taking notes.

"The first form the amphites earn right off the bat is the Magic Form. There isn't a specific theme, other than your element, of course." Miss Liddicoat flipped the page of her book as she explained things. "When you're in a form, you can use your magic powers. Not everyone's manifests in the same way."

"Do you just have the magic form?" Another student, Xue Fang Wen, asked.

"Yes. It pretty much came with your Amphone. Each form has a different button, so you can still use your old forms if needed. The next form is the Animal Form. Every Amphite has an animal guardian, which pertains to only them and their animal form. A girl named Amili runs a pet store and, after you complete 5 missions, you can go find yours. This enables you to summon the guardian, and use your Animal Form." Miss Liddicoat continued on with her explanation.

"After 20 missions are completed, you will see Rowan, who will help you to find Soul Flowers and master your Flower Form. Then, after 30 missions, you'll see Jerrick who will take you into the mines to find your Heart Gems and you'll learn how to use the Gemstone Form. Rina helps with the Food Form at 40 missions, and she'll help you find your taysties. Iliya is next, at 50 missions, with the Music Form. She helps you to find your tempotappers." She paused for a second. "After that, you'll visit people in the realms of the Deities. Brook is a merman in Liquire's realm, and he gives you a locket with a mystic water charm, which enabled you to transform into the Underwater Form. You get this after 70 missions. You can breath and fight underwater, though it's merely more powerful for water elementals and those with an aquatic animal form. After 80 missions is Winged Form, coming from a charm for your locket given to you by Auri in Wispe's realm. If you animal form is winged or your an air elemental, it is pretty much only more powerful. Finally, in between Mortis and Vivius's realms is the Spirita Village, where Glyxon is stationed. After 90 missions, you'll meet him and he gives you the Mystic Charm, and you'll gain the ability to use the Dream Form, which allows you to walk in other's minds, memories, and dreams. You can also turn invisible."

"So, how do these objects help us?" Xue Fang asked, furiously writing down notes.

"The Guardians give you powerful buffs, but those are only for you. However, with the other forms, you get increasingly more powerful buffs for your entire guild, party, or mission group.. We'll get to those later. There is one more form to talk about." Miss Liddicoat took a moment to sigh. "After 100 missions, you'll go see the God or Goddess your guild has aligned itself with. You will gain the power of the Ultimate Form, which is extremely powerful, but each use comes with a price. You can temporarily lose your memories, eyesight in one eye, sense of taste, or hearing in one ear. There is a two-week cool down. If you use the Ultimate Form before it's over, the sacrifice will become permanent. Scientists and doctors are working on a way to restore things, but so far they haven't been able to. If and when you receive this form, please be careful."

"Who are the Gods and Goddesses?" Xue Fang asked, which made the teacher sigh.

"Well, we're under Avala, Goddess of Ice.  There's the aforementioned Liquire, Goddess of Water, Whispe, Goddess of Air, Vivius, God of Light, and Mortis, God of Darkness. But, there's also Ferno, God of Fire, Grine, God of Earth, and Lumis, Goddess of Electricity." Miss Liddicoat said. "Now, before I'm interrupted again, let's go over weapons. We're going to Jerrick's place to meet with his sister Jessica, the blacksmith. There, you'll be able to test out weapons, and when you've decided, you'll meet with your mentors and learn how to fight using them. Tomorrow, we'll learn about guilds and how to take on missions, and then your mentors will teach you to transform and use magic. Follow me."

"Good afternoon everyone. My name is Jessica, Tupherian Square's blacksmith! I'll talk about weapons classes. Each weapon has different tiers. Some other towns can sell higher tiered weapons, but here we sell the first three. When your skill gets better, you'll be able to wield more powerful tiers. The highest tier is an Ultimate Weapon, which is specific to you and you only. Otherwise, all the tiers are the same." Jessica smiled. "Let's start with Vale Cristalle. I'll take you into the back room and you can pick something."

Vale enthusiastically followed her, as he thought about what he'd want to try. Well, he sort of already knew, but his choice was influenced by his recent bingings of RWBY, Durarara!!, and Soul Eater, plus his repeated watches of the Steven Universe movie.

"Do you have scythes?" He asked, and Jessica nodded.

'Yes, follow me." Jessica smiled as she lead vale to the scythe section and picked one up. "You want it?"

"Yeah," Vale took it, mesmerized by the craftsmanship.

"Hehe, looks like I might have an apprentice blacksmith at some point." Jessica smiled, "You seem like the type to work hands on to create stuff. Are you?"

"I mean, yeah. I'm into pottery and sculpting and art," Vale sighed, "Maybe one day."

"Well, I'll keep you in mind, Vale! Now take your Amphone, and press a part of your weapon on the center button to link it." Vale followed her directions, and then it disappeared in a burst of light.

"There you go! Now, when you need your weapon, you press the button labeled one! You're all done, so I'll go get the next person!"

Vale and Jessica exited the back room, and then he waited for everyone to finish. He made a note of Serrina's staff when she exited and began walking towards him.

"We need to meet up with our mentor now. Let's go."

Vale nodded, finally glad to be able to use his own scythe.
