Art Fight
Tis the season for Art Fight! I feel as if most folks around TH and the CS scene know about Art Fight by now, but if you haven't, click through the link to see a summary of how it works! In short, it's a team-based gift art game, and this year, the theme is vampires vs werewolves. I've been participating in Art Fight since 2017, and I plan to participate again this year, so this month's event is entirely Art Fight oriented. (Feel free to drop your AF links in the comments of this bulletin!)
We have three possible achievements for you to claim:
- Create 5 attacks OR achieve a total of 250 points
- Create 15 attacks OR achieve a total of 750 points
- Create 30 attacks OR achieve a total of 1500 points
- Attack 3 different Enchiron characters (Please use the Enchiron tag so you can all find each other!)
- Create 5 pieces of gift art, any quality, OR write at least 750 words featuring someone else's character
- Create 15 pieces of gift art, any quality, OR write at least 2500 words featuring someone else's character
- Create 30 pieces of gift art, any quality, OR write at least 5000 words featuring someone else's character
- Create gift art or writing, any quality, of 3 different Enchiron characters (NPCs included)
Event Reminder
The ianthina launch event is still on-going! Claims for free MYOs has ended, but if you are finding yourself hankering for a slot, by all means claim your starter slots. Check out our activities:

Journals Reminder
For those new to this group, we have a special system known as Journals. They are a way to help record the journeys your characters undergo, share it with others, and keep up to date with the activities and relationships between other characters. Making a journal for a character earns you 5 Memories, and keeping it up to date earns you other benefits, yet to be seen...

Desire Spread Like Whispers
The dream that had Enchiron in a chokehold seems to have faded as senselessly as it began. Many have revived memories of places they once forgot, regrettably or not, and many have ached, waking with yearning in their heart.
A precious few, however, have found their way somewhere else.
They followed the voice that promised them a reprieve from the darkness; they made it out of the forest; and they found themself standing before a singular theriad caravan, alone in a clearing. The harnesses to pull it were empty, rigid in the merciless air. It was plain, for a caravan: all natural, unpainted wood, with only accents painted in accenting silver swirls. The wood creaked as the dreamers approached, and then the mahogany shutters opened. An assortment of items hung from hooks--a fading rose, a tarnished locket, a crumbling snakeskin, a rusted mirror, and a perfect, flawless blank mask--and you could see even more things, countless piles of things, piled up in the empty space around the figure that came to fill the window.
A lion theriad smiled--though a silvery glint of scales slithered in the air behind them.
"So, you found me. How was the journey, was it far? Was it long? Ah, don't give me that look. I know why you're here. Come, take a look, and tell me: what's been haunting you?"
Ianthina Launch Coming Soon
Our next major event is coming up! If all goes well, you can expect it within the next week. We'll announce the launch here too, of course, but check out the interest check to help support the launch and get an extra ticket into the free raffles we'll be running! You can also get a first look at the trait sheet and what activities we'll be having!
Special Prompts + Poll
There was no May prompt so efforts could be focused on the shop opening and ianthina launch, but we do have two special prompts now open:
Wiki Submissions: Draw or write something for our wiki to receive double the reward.
Free Choice: Any art/writing you do, even if it doesn't fit a prompt, now earns a reward for half the Memories of an active prompt.
We are also considering updating the way prompts are compensated. Currently, you receive a flat 2 Memories as a base submission, with an optional +3 for a little extra level of finish. The proposed system is more gradated, akin to Art Fight, and can be viewed here.
Please vote on the poll at the top of the bulletin and leave any further thoughts on this in the comments of this bulletin for our consideration.
(Also, reminder that our prompts never fully close. You can always submit to previous prompts after the fact for half the Memories.)
World Updates
Our People page now features a beautiful scene of a Sayilan marketplace courtesy of flickermouse. As Sayil is our melting pot, the place where you can find every species, it will showcase each species as they're released, and you can currently see both caelians and humans within it, preparing for the day.
You also may have noticed, we've updated the world code! All the text is the same, but we've removed the CSS (as some folks were having trouble with it) and completely rehauled the front page. Check it out!

Dreams Spread Like Kudzu
All across Enchiron, in early morning murmurs and midnight whispers shared across bed, people are finding they've been sharing the same unsettling dream.
It always begins the same way.
(CW: Unreality. Safe version here.)
I am (You are) walking through a home I (you) once had. (You still have it.) I (You) are alone. Golden twilight filters through the window as dust motes twirl in the air, and I (you) decide to step outside. I am in a forest. (Have you ever seen a forest?) The light's turned dark, yawning blues and restless purples, as mist creeps across the ground and caresses your (our) ankles. Your (my) home is gone. But in the mist you (I) see something dear to you (us) that was ▮▮▮▮. Lost. Destroyed. Dead. Gone. Gone. I (we) never thought we (I) would see it again. I (You) give chase but no one (no one) can wrap their (who?) fingers around it.
A voice echoes through the darkness.
Come, just a little further! You're almost there.
Then you (you) wake up.

Build an NPC
For a quick refresher: you've been invited to help us craft a new NPC. The basic concept, traits, and appearance will be crowdsourced from you all, and at the end, we'll have a shiny new character to be a part of the world.
Our winning concept was this: a pair of twins, a prince and a pauper. One child was born perfect, a marvel among caelians, while the other hadn't even feathers. The imperfect child is cast aside, and the perfect one used to pull the family out of poverty. They grow up ignorant of each other, until grown they meet again.
Normally, this would be the part where we'd vote for traits, but the concept implies which ones the new characters will have pretty clearly! Stay tuned to meet them!
Our other ideas are here:
An eccentric, older caelian who cares for the strays that have come to reside in Dolsian cities: escaped pets, injured wildlife, and any local fauna that happens to cross their path. No one knows how they have the resources to take care of all these creatures by themself, but it turns out they have an estranged child supporting them.

There have been no major updates to the wiki, but you can check out the inspiration channel in our discord (16+) for visuals from the world of Enchiron, and we have begun Question of the Week (discord-only) to help you all develop lore around your characters.

Leaving a record
Stories, notations, memories, and records are vital to caelians, but they're not the only ones. No one wants to forget the life they've lived, at least, not completely.
This month, you're invited to make a journal for your approved characters. Journals serve as a more integrated and organized way for you to share your character's journey with the community as it grows and develops. Any completed journals made by April 15th will earn 5 Memories.
You may also draw or write about one object your character is sentimental about for an additional 2 Memories. (Minimum requirements: clean sketch or 300 words.)

As a fun bonus, this month, you're invited to help us craft a new NPC. The basic concept, traits, and appearance will be crowdsourced from you all, and at the end, we'll have a shiny new character to be a part of the world.
For the first stage, we're crowdsourcing character ideas. Job, personality traits, hobbies, and more--anything that makes a character that's NOT appearance based is welcome during this stage. You can be as brief as you'd like, but if you choose to write more, try not to go over 5 sentences.

I want to thank EVERYONE for joining us for our launch! It makes me so happy to have people coming to play in the little world we've been working so hard to build, and already there are so many cool ideas cropping up.
The Roadmap
The theme for the upcoming year will be "Exploring Enchiron". Over the course of the next year, we'll release the other four primary species active in the world. Between releases, you can expect monthly prompts that focus on character development and other aspects of the world, and the occasional small little community game.
