✦ Sinclair [City]

Sinclair City

Sinclair is the Counterpart to that of Colton, which lies a couple hours southwest from where the city is. Sinclair sprawls out from the lush coast of the ocean that separates the two continents. Sinclair also branches back into some flat, humid terrain with a small desert in the outskirts of Ridgewood, and goes up into the mountains when you reach the Academy.

Locations

The Upper Crust

Locations that are just about filled to the brim with the Rich, Egotistical and Famous.

Brookside

Brookside is home to the highest grossing families in Sinclair. There is a rather intense and very through inspection and background before you can even apply to purchase these homes. This is the residential area that is the closest to that of the Sinclair Academy, thusly many of the students who do not commute or do not live within the dorms; often live in these homes with their families! Others do also live in their own private estates close to this area. To put simply; Brookside is the rich and wealthy end of the City and they are very snobby about it! Their HOA is insufferable to those outside the community.

Brookside Theatre

The Brookside Theatre is where most students end up being dragged by their families! Almost every month there is a different Musical or Opera performance going on! So, you have to book your tickets when they are announced 3 months in advance, or you are for sure going to lose any opportunity to go see what's playing during that time. While this area is open to the middle class and below you can expect to drop anywhere from $132 to an upwards of $600 on tickets! That all depends on what is currently playing; they have Broadway levels of popularity!
Students will also come here with their friends for their own enjoyment! Sometimes Sinclair Academy will take students here on an extracurricular field trip for that of the Drama Club & Choir, in which the students will get to experience the show & also meet and work with the actors and vocalists behind the scenes!

Brookside Realtors & HOA

Brookside Realtors is one of the largest competitors in the field. They are the mother company to a few other, smaller, real-estate companies that prowl throughout the cities in the nearby vicinity along with being located within Sinclair itself.
The Company is owned and maintained by a CEO and its known that a fair few of the higher ups are a part of the 'esteemed' Brookside Homeowners Association or HOA. They frequently purchase run down homes and flip them to become a much more modern, chic and rather expensive. They are the type of company you hate if you love older, Victorian homes with personality over the breakable, replaceable and sterile look of the modern age.

De Mevius Estate

The De Mevius Estate is one of the largest & oldest to exist within Sinclair. A Family that originated in Dolus Ante, that expanded and moved to Sinclair. This is a mega mansion for lack of better words with an expansive amount of land that is also owned by the esteemed family. With the death of the last of the renowned Marris & Valence De Mevius, the heir of the estate would show up less and less, prefering to dorm rather than being in the very empty, too big of a home.
The estates heir would eventually sell this expansive manor & the contents within to the city-state of Sinclair for them to refurbish it into a public museum, going through the history of this old family home & the lands they own. The Company & Family Business in Dolus Ante is still run by the heir till the current day.

Sinclair University

Sinclair University is a prestigious school, Much like the Academy that owns it. While it is not NEARLY as expansive as the academy, this college is set up for students to continue from their two years of college in the academy, to be able to go all the way to a Master Degree. It was an old university that was sold to the academy! They still have the same enrollment options & general rules, but is a less known school.
The College campus is still pretty expansive compared to the other college in the area, and have permissions from the Academy to use some of their buildings for sports and the likes. They have 4 main buildings & 2 sets of dorms for students! It follows the same color scheming of Sinclair Academy, this just being the higher level of education version.

Sinclair's 'Made of Gold' Mall

The Made of Gold Mall is one of the biggest in the known area! Having been one of the longest standing and frequently renovated ones as well! The mall is a whopping 5 stories tall! There's many escalators, stairs and other methods of getting from floor to floor. Some of the areas within the mall include a chic, modern movie theatre, a casino floor [owned by Blueblood Corp.], a huge arcade & that of two immersive escape rooms. This is just scratching the surface for what this mall has to offer!
The mall is located pretty close to the Academy, being roughly a 30-minute drive and is on the outskirts of the city as the Academy is! Many of the students will spend their weekends here; be it working in one of the hundreds of stores or going on a day long shopping spree with Daddy's money lmao.

North Star Country Club

The North Star is an invitation only club! The Sinclair Academy has this club as one of its sponsor's; thusly its students are allowed to come to and from. This country club has a wide variety of things included in its many facilities! From its giant swimming pool and hot tub to its spa, its golf courses, tennis courts, card room, fitness room and one of the best restaurants you'll find in The Upper Crust.
Many students will be scoped out here by rich and famous individuals with different ties to industries, such as the Starshore Agency from Colton! During the Summer and Off Season of school, Students looking to improve their social network will use this club as a way to find potential career and job opportunities! Be it for modeling, acting, finance, business! Whatever it may be, you can probably find someone here who can tell you more.
Many students also work here during the summer; less for the money and more for the juicy gossip and tourists who come about.

Miss Jewel's Dragons

Miss Jewels is a very notable clinic, training center, daycare and adoption service for ethically bred dragons within the city of Sinclair. While you can purchase a dragon out of almost any pet store within a mall, this is one of the only big companies that specialize in and ethically breed their dragons. If you are seeking a dragon for service animal reasons, this would be the place to get them!
This originally started as an adoption service, with expensive dragons & a rigorous adoption evaluation, but now it has expanded to have a team of dragon loving vets, dragon trainers & loving people who will watch you dragon throughout the day if you don't feel comfortable leaving them at home. it's a very lush building that's decked out completely for these cat sized little creatures

Main Street

An Area for the Middle Class! These Locations are Popular spots for both WA and Regular Students in this area

Ridgewood Townhomes

As almost a direct opposite; Ridgewood is the home for many of the middle class students of Sinclair It's a very cozy and quaint neighborhood; one where you could walk to a corner store at 3am and hear kids playing in the streets in the late afternoon. While it is about an hour and thirty minutes from the high school; it's not that bad of a commute compared to other areas! Ridge Street is located next to Sinclairs public middle and high school as well! These are quaint local schools if you can't afford to get into Sinclair for your freshman year or even up until the college years! But the Housing in this area is generally affordable for the middle class.

Ridgewood Ballet & Dance Studio

This is Ridegewood's esteemed Ballet Studio! It's in a much better part of the city than where most of Ridgewoods Buildings are. This building is sponsored by the Brookside Theatre as many of the folks who use this studio end up recruited for performances at the theatre! The top half of the studio is sectioned off for dance, it has a room for rest & snacks, a locker room and an actual dance floor for students to stretch and perform their routines. Below is that of the Ballet studio, which follows a very similar structure to the floor above it! Having the studio area, dressing rooms, a room to sit, rest and have snacks & then the actual lobby of the building with a receptionist desk.
In general this studio provides a place for anyone to get into the ballet/dancing hobby and profession, it's a popular thing for the Brookside moms and dads to get their children into if they don't get into ice skating or sports.

Ridgewood Public Library

The Ridgewood public Library is one of the oldest buildings within the city! This library is a massive 3 floors, including a basement where moms and women from the area will get together for a book club ever weekend, while their children play on the other side with the toys or read whatever children's books they have.
This library is well loved and still frequently receives new patrons and new materials for their area. In recent years they have expanded to a 'Library of Things' that includes things from kitchenware to museum passes that can be checked out for some time!
The library itself has a very cozy atmosphere, there's thousands of books to browse, computers to surf on, little weekly surveys and games patrons can enter, and much more! This is a favorite place of bookworms young and old.

Ridgewood Ice Rink

This is the Ice Rink that the Academy uses for its Hockey and Figure Skating club! They rent it out on days their students have practice or during the afternoon for their sport team! This is a rather large rink; typical issue for Hockey! On the other end though; this rink is open all year long and is widely open to the public around the area! You can easily get upwards of 4 hours in the rink for about $20 a person!
This place is rather popular for dates; fumbling about on the ice with shoes that are just a little too small or a little too big, taking a break and sitting at the little cafe area with some hot coco and laughing about how bad you were at it, and eventually leave feeling warmer than you should for being in a very cold building.
Overall, def a great spot to hangout!

Daybreak Diner

The Daybreak Diner is a Little corner of heaven for those who live in Ridgewood & Downtown Alley. A quaint little diner tucked away on a strip mall street; its a diamond in the ruff and man does the outside of this place show it. It is 100% not a place any of the rich folks of the city would come to but it has one of those menus worn from the many years its been there. Shits good and the folks around here know it.
The diner is run by a lovely woman who everyone in one way or another knows the name of! She lives close to the beach but takes the time every day to take the long commute to her beloved diner. She meets her regulars at 8am and works till that of 11pm most nights! She doesn't get a whole lot of sleep due to the commute and long hours, but man does she give the area a bit of charm no other place could! This little diner is a wonderful option for students looking to earn a free meal or some quick cash!

A Little Sunshine

A Little Sunshine is a new shop that has opened up on the corner of Ridgewood nestled right beside the beloved chocolate shop of the town. It's a hidden gem amongst college students and adults alike.
Sunshine is a cafe that has a plant nursery attached! So, if you really enjoy botany and you enjoy having freshly brewed coffee or tea, from plants you can see for yourself; this is the place to go! As you can sip your coffee while browsing what houseplant you want to bring home!
The interior of the shop is cozy browns, creams, golds and greens. There's a little counter to sit at or you can sit by the windows of the building during a rainy day to watch the city go by. Often times there's soft instrumental playing here and there's always plants living and thriving.

Sweet Cravings

Sweet Cravings is another one of the older buildings within the Ridgewood area of the city. It's a little chocolate shop that has expanded into that of candy and fruit bouquets.
This little shop is finally open all year round! Now that the owners have retired from their day jobs. The shop use to be open only from Late September to Early May due to the summer season, but now as they serve candy and fruit arrangements, they have more business than ever in the hotter seasons!
All the sweets here are made with a special kind of talent you just can't replicate anywhere else. They have a secret recipe for many of their chocolates, fudges as well as their sweet confections such as sugar cookies during Christmas. They bring that feeling of 'home' or 'grandma's house' to most customers minds.

Boardwalk Avenue

The Avenue is the second highest grossing community of families in the are of Sinclair! It also has the longest commute of two and a half hours; So most students who come from here opt to live in the dorms so they aren't having to essentially sit in a car for 3 hours a day to and from the academy. The wonderful thing about living in this area is you have a small sliver of the beach that belongs to your family! Many students will use this to host parties during the Spring and Summer breaks! This is also closest to one of the most popular hangout spots in all of Sinclair besides that of a quaint little diner! Near this residential area is the boardwalk that hosts a fair during the spring and summer seasons!

Boardwalk Strip Mall

The Boardwalk Strip mall is located just off of the Avenue & the Fair! This is the area folks will walk past to get to the end of the boardwalk for its fair, and the place folks will go shopping when the fair is closed down for a season!
There's many  little shops and restaurants that set up shop here and not all of them stay, so there is often times a frequently rotating stock of new stores that fill out the empty storefronts almost as soon as they close. its a popular spot to start up a business & if you can make it, you'll get good revenue from the folks who live within the area!
You'll frequently see street performers, little kiosks and food carts & trucks that come and go! There's some food trucks that post little snippets of the area they are parked for that day & it becomes an adventure to find them.

Boardwalk Fair

As mentioned above, The Boardwalk is rather close to that of The Avenue! Well to be technical about it; the two are essentially on the same long strip of street, with the strip mall between them. This is a popular hangout for the students of SA during summer breaks if they don't go with friends or family to exotic places or their summer homes! This are winds up being more for the 'common' folk who are around during these seasons! Its a wee bit expensive but a trip to remember.
While most of the Elite will turn their nose up at the various Foods you can get at this concrete paradise next to the ocean; it's a wonderful treat to most around the area! This place has a ton of shops that are set up, from going and winning some of those rigged games to get your date a stuffed animal, to taking a ride on the ferris wheel in the evening. No matter what you end up doing, you'll find happiness here

Stargazer Hotel

Stargazer is a well known hotel in Sinclair; it is expensive, it is boushie and loved by many. This hotel is tucked right between the Boardwalk & The Avenue! Folks who stay here have a free admission to the Boardwalk for upwards of 3 days depending how long their visit is this can expand!
Stargazer gained its fame from the various musical Stars, Opera Stars, Hockey players and general famous folk who have stayed in its halls for the night! They have a wall dedicated to photos taken with these individuals!
The Hotel itself offers a wonderful all-you-can-eat breakfast bar along with a very fancy dinner for its guests; which is very much included in the room prices- so its better that you take advantage of the free food! They also have amenities such as an indoor pool, hot tub, spa, fitness room & shops.

Starcrossed Stadium

The Starcrossed stadium is known for its main gimmick of being able to change its inner ring size to expand or shrink to be able to account for whatever event or season there currently is! Its almost an all-in-one arena for things such as soccer, boxing, football, baseball, and even the occasional car racing track. This is achieved with a mix of massive mechanical systems and very trained mechanical & construction magic users
Because of how costly it is to change things up within the arena, the tickets to see the events are often quite expensive, especially with the area it is in. Some people will come to the arena just to see how it was changed up this time. But all in all there's no real out-of-season period for this arena & they rack up money quite frequently.

Seaside Apartments

The Seaside apartments are a more expensive option for those in the middle class but they do come with a lot of benefits! Not only does the apartments own a small bit of the beach; but they have an indoor pool, lounge, laundry unit and that of a fitness room!
The apartments are well kept and the management is very quick and responsive with any complaints their residents might have. So all in all, this place is well worth its price
These apartments are also within walking distance of the boardwalk! Though that is if you consider a 25 minute walk, 'walking distance'! If not there is a bus stop here that also goes around most of the city!
These bus stops can be found at almost every local besides that of the Upper Crust, but one bus line does also go to the Academy!

High Rise

High Rise is not located up with the rest of the high class areas within the city. However, this is one of a few high class, fine dining experiences you can locate within this city. It is a lovely ship that this dining experience is located on, they don't open until the early evening and will set sail for a few hours while their guests dine over the ocean.
For exuberant prices and no fear of being on the water, you can experience this mind-blowing meal that changes out every few weeks and almost never repeats without there being at minimum, 2 months between. This is a 7-course meal that takes you on a journey through the oceans that surround the continent that Sinclair resides on.

The Beach

The beach of Sinclair is rather large! As It extends pretty far up the coastline this side of the mountains! You can actually find a little marker in the sand where the two cities collide on the sand! While a good portion of the beach is owned property by that of the hotel, apartments or the Avenue! The area around the boardwalk is fully legal and public to be on!
This is another area that is a popular hangout and date spot!
Many couples will come onto the beach at dawn for a little cook-out, or walk along the shore as the sun is rising or setting!
While friends will come here to watch fireworks from the Boardwalk, or they'll have little BBQ parties! There is a volleyball court so many students will group up and play a couple rounds; just enjoying being young and feeling the sun on their fur!
All in All, despite its short season, the beach is well loved no matter which City you belong to

The Low Crust

The sadly run down part of town, mostly abandoned by civic help due to high crime rates.

Downtown Alley

Downtown Alley sits right in the middle for commute time; it's not the closest but also not the furthest; being just about two hours from the Academy. They also live 30 minutes away from that of the Public High School & Middle School. Unfortunately, however, Downtown is known for its crime rates, a lot of kids from this area fall into bad groups. This is not a place you would want to raise your kids, but most folks don't have an option in the matter. Those who do come from this place and manage to land an academic scholarship to get into the Academy become the talk of the area. A lot of folks are Hella prideful of those who get out of Downtown into the Elite school to make something better for their lives.

Red Light District

Sex, Drugs, Alcohol and Crime are the four things this area is most known for. being a strip in Sinclair's downtown area that has quite the reputation. The Blueblood Corp is rumored to be running this area, and it's safe to say that the Sinclair police force's presence is very much lacking in the damp strip illuminated in a red glow.
Despite this however, Red Light is a popular strip amongst the 20+ students of Sinclair, those looking to rebel or feel more comfortable in this sort of environment. There are also a few very run down and unkempt apartments above these shops. They often have bugs and usually have at least one appliance that's broken. But if you really don't care and just need somewhere to live. You'll make do with these stingy little apartments that don't cost an arm and a leg. The Strip has multiple gentlemen's clubs, bars, rundown buildings and more. It's a very popular hotspot to get away with murder, violence and crime.

Sinclair Police Department

The Sinclair police do not do as much as they are supposed to. Their station being Located on the border of Ridgewood and The Red-Light District plays into this. Many on the force are considered crooked cops who frequently turn a blind eye to the violence and crime within the Red-Light District of the city.
Many believe that parts of Blueblood exist within the force and that's the reason why the black market of drugs and organs hasn't been stopped or looked into. There's murders and fights, so much of it is brushed under the rug with a shrug and an 'Oh Sorry'. But They'll arrest you if they think you are armed or will plant drugs in your car when you have none
A Lot of the police force is NOT respected in Downtown or Ridgewood, but the upper crust area and the beach area of the city are highly protected & taken care of by the police force. Which in result, makes them rather praised by said communities. So ACAB is very true here.

Sinclair Public School District

The Sinclair Public school district sits right between that of the Lower Crust of the City and the Main Street.  This includes everything from the Elementary School all the way up to a Community college. These schools are pretty decent at best & the curriculum isn't terrible so most families opt to send their children here for an education if they cant make it into the esteemed academy.
These schools unfortunately do see a lot of underground issues, such as drugs being sold, ciggs and alcohol being snuck in, kids rebelling and breaking things on school grounds. So on and so forth. Its safe to say while these schools are safe from outside threats, they are not entirely safe from the students who cause mayhem from within. Some of these kids get mixed up with the likes of the Blueblood corp.

Sinclair Community Centre & Shelter

The Sinclair Community Centre & Homeless shelter was a recent addition to the lower end of the city. it was put into place to try and make an effort to reduce the rate of homelessness and struggling drug addicts that are around the city.
The community center end of this building is aimed to be a safe place for everyone to come, they offer free books and take donations for families to get the food they need to get by. This center helps with local cleanup and restoration projects. Its doing more than the police in this area is for busting people for crimes & is generally the one force in the bad end of the city that is trying to make it even a slightly better place to live.
The Shelter end of this building separates men and women. There's wings for both & they dorm in rooms of four to six people per room, there's a communal showering and washing area for each wing. Along with a kitchen that is stocked with donations from the local churches and grocery stores that need to lessen waste. Its not the best place to live, but it is at the very least something to help folks get back on their feet.

Street Rats Gully

Street Rats gully is a dark and dingy abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city. Its been taken over as a mix of a club for raves and heavy metal concerts, but also as a deep area for folks who are looking to show off their magic & physical fighting ability will enter through the doors of the underground fighting ring.
There is illegal bets, illegal fights & a lot of drugs and alcohol. It's a play-fair sort of scene when up against actual folks, so no enhancer drugs and shit otherwise you'll get your ass kicked out and banned. But folks get to go wild, often a fight till the other passes out with championship fights ending in death with a licensed reviver on hand.
Another end of this is the every so often 'Wilds Fights' where they have managed to smuggle in a known aggressive and dangerous animal from the wilds to go head to head against anyone stupid enough to try and fight it.

Scorched Earth Raceway

Another area located on the backend of the city where the cops don't do shit is the unofficial raceway. Scorched Earth is a known street racing spot, using the backroads of the city, pimped out rides and a whole lot of healers on hand. Folks who chase an adrenaline rush, want to live fast and be reckless or just want to watch as the cars go past, will often come to the abandoned and rundown part of the city, sitting on old buildings & steps, screaming and listening to music & drinking as they just get lost in the high energy of the raceway.
Every so often there is a 'scare' of cops, often the cops often just join in, chilling on their cars and even mandating or placing bets. On the occasion, when an actual or aggressive cop finds out about the raceway, everyone scrams from the area & abandons it until the cop gives up. There's only been a handful of arrests & deaths from the raceway.

Cloud Nine

Cloud Nine is in the deeper parts of the district. It is surprisingly well received, well taken care of and genuinely probably the BEST gentlemen's club anyone could work at within the city of Sinclair. Cloud Nine is dimly lit, there's lavish, cushioned seats, private back rooms for the dancers, and a wonderful bar. They serve some of the most expensive liquors and food here, the dancers are pricey and some of the top in the industry.
Cloud Nine is the best place to work for those in the Escort and Dancer professions, they have typical benefits other 9 to 5 jobs would have and the added security that there's bouncers & bodyguards. They are treated extra good, so they don't leave and stop making the business money.
There's a very heavy 'Look but don't touch or you will lose your hands' sort of policy that is HEAVILY enforced by that of the various bodyguards within the building. So, it should come to no surprise that this lush and lavish Club is owned by the Blueblood Corp. This is their biggest 'branch' in Sinclair. This branch is used to capture local politicians and government officials being sleazy, just another branch for the CEO to get his blackmail material.

North Star Bar & Club

The North Star Bar is also very well protected. It is closer to the fringes of the Red-Light District and is a rather popular club for those who are seeking a fun night out. This place is notorious for being a Fake ID shredder, so if you are under 21, don't even think about it mate. For those who are of legal age. This place has a wide range of expenses, so those from lower income and higher income can both get something good to eat & drink before they dance or hook up with someone.
The bar itself is very star themed. Its color scheme having golds, blues and blacks all over. The celling is its highlight, having a totally black coat with gold stars that glimmer every time light bounces off of them. it gives a magical effect, and it is hands down one of the prettiest bars on the district if not difficult to get into. As there is metal detectors & security to weed out weapons and drugs, there's multiple bouncers and security, and there's even an anti-magic barrier on the place to avoid drink spiking and the like.

The Black Hole

This is more or less a back-alley way of the strip that twice a week has shops set up selling some of the most illegal items you can find within the city. The shops themselves range from blankets of stolen goods sold for a quick buck, more expensive booths that can be torn down within an hour to get away or using old, broken-down buildings to hide the sins of their selling.
This ranges from parts of other people, organs for sale, weapons for sale, hard drugs and even some magic-enhancers and suppressants that have a 50/50 of fucking you up for the rest of your existence. The prices here are high and there's a lot of nefarious activity that occurs here. People wear masks, they hold silent bids on things from furniture, animals to the unimaginable. Its organized, it's disgusting and the Police are doing NOTHING to prevent or weed this behavior out of the city.
This area is also known for its gangs & violence. This is the deepest part of the strip and is the worst place to find yourself in on the nights this black market isn't happening. Avoid the areas where the lights don't work.

Near Campus

These are areas outside of the city; but are rather close to that of the Academy!

Lovers Lake

Lovers Lake is a notorious date spot in Sinclair, being just north of the academy! Closer to that of the mall & Academy than that of the city itself. This is a small lake that is naturally pink from all the minerals & magic swirled into its waters! While the water is completely non-toxic and safe to drink; many doctors recommend that you do not consume the water from this lake. This is highly due to the fact that various teens have been sent to the hospital because of it in the past; usually magic surges are the result.
Either way! This is an old-school rumor that is passed around the halls of many different schools. That if you bring your sweetheart to the lake after being together for 3 weeks or longer and you drink some of the magical water; that you'll be destined to have your souls intertwined through this lifetime and many cycles to come!
Of course, a lot of students believe this rumor and will often try to talk their partners into going to the lake and partaking in the rumor. Many wish to see if it's true, a dorky and cute little endeavor.
