Hierarchy of planes

look alright ok ill redraw this img later

In the world of Pokeau, the universe is split into 3 main planes - these 3 were created by Arceus, and while they don't directly interact very much, the three worlds serve as a balancing scale for the universe itself.

In spacetime, the spirit world is located in between the primary plane and the primeval plane, and is the force the balances the two. It follows it's own existential rules, and the details of each plane will be listed here.

THE PRIMARY PLANE : Where stuff happens

The primary plane is the main world Pokeau takes place in, the two major species being humans and pokemon. Originally, only pokemon lived here, but humans were later introduced by The Skymother. It's physics and laws of spacetime function similarly, if not nearly exactly like the real world. Pokemon have a range of intelligence levels, some being at dog level, while others are beyond human comprehension.

THE SPIRIT WORLD : It's getting spooky!

The spirit world is odd, in that it doesn't follow the traditional rules of timespace that the other two major planes do. There is up and down and left and right, and it's not a limitless space like the others. The spirit world is the residence of spirits of all kinds, and what type depends on where in the spirit realm they reside. The middle spirit world is mostly inhabited by the spirits of pokemon, and by powerful ghost-types. These powerful ghost types are capable of using the spirit world as a gateway to travel in between the primary and primeval planes, and some notably dastardly pokemon have been known to try and lure humans and pokemon into the spirit world.
The middle spirit world is chaotic and dangerous to those other than it's residents, and as a result, staying too long can result in a spirit becoming corrupted - a state where said spirit loses sentience and free will.

The upper spirit world is of Skymother's creation, and is separated from the middle spirit world by a barrier of clouds. It's made up of many floating islands that seemingly appear for new people, and is the place of resting for human spirits. Human spirits cannot travel to the primary plane, but they can be temporarily channeled. They may also be lured or get lost and end up in the middle realm, which is dangerous for them.

The distortion world is ruled by Giratina, who essentially runs the whole show without any Arceus supervision. It sits at the bottom of the spirit world, completely upside-down. It's the most dangerous of the realms and is often the place of damnation for truly criminal souls, as judged by Anniel, sitting emissary of Giratina.
Giratina technically has control over the entire spirit world (save for the Hall of Origin), but the distortion world is her true realm of power.

Finally, the Hall of Origin is cut off from the entire spirit world, and is the spot where Arceus sits, watching the planes as time goes by. It's also the home of unown, creatures who's blips help transfer information to Arceus. Only high-ranked legends are allowed access.

THE PRIMEVAL PLANE : The pokemon world

The primeval plane was created after the introduction of humans to the primary plane by Arceus, who wanted to have a separate world just for pokemon. It's planet's landmass is distributed differently, but it ultimately follows the same ecological and physical rules as the primary plane. Here, almost every pokemon is has reached a human level of intelligence and they have their own functional society. As humans do not exist here, visiting legends cannot enter human or god forms in this plane.

MINOR PLANES

These planes exist, but aren't as major and usually occupy space somewhere between the spirit world and the primary plane. They don't hold as much power or residents as the big 3, but they still exist which means I have to talk about them.

THE DREAMSCAPE

A place that exists in the minds of those who rest - the dreamspace is a plane separate from reality, and is pretty much just the land of dreams. Each person and pokemon has their own separate pocket of the dreamscape, and is confined to it whenever they rest. Cresselia has near full unchallenged power over it, and is the only one capable of moving in and out of other's pockets.

POCKET DIMENSIONS

These are pockets in spacetime created by Palkia, and exist separately from all else. They cannot be accessed by anyone other than Palkia, unless invited by Palkia herself.
