Limbons are soul-bearing humanoids living within an alternate plane of Achelois. For magic users and spirits, it is possible to reach their lands. Their distinguishing features includes gaps/holes on their chests, and a monochromatic gradient from their legs to feet.
About
Limbons are humanoid creatures with visible souls on their chest. They reside in Limbo, a magic-entried underground land in Achelois. Limbons were primarily known as Soulwalkers. The souls in their Chest Gaps are not their own, and are from the souls of the once-living people of Achelois.
• Limbons were primarily known to usually contain souls of fallen heroes, the Limbons that contain souls of criminals and villains wound up corrupted and/or severely ill.
• Limbons with no souls are usually young, however, older Limbons who had never received a soul for as long as they lived are considered Oddities.
• Limbons with souls take some personality and traits from the original soul owner (i.e. the now deceased person). They feel life, active, and ready to go. Limbons without souls are still active - however, they feel hollow, empty and overall feel as if they’re missing something in their life. Some Limbons are more than used to the feeling, some others… not so much.
• Those that (unfortunately) contain the souls of criminals or villains tend to feel as if they no longer have control over their own bodies, rare occasions do they remain the same and only fall ill. Limbons who are caught bearing corrupted souls are taken immediately to dungeons to keep the souls itselves locked up. It’s semi-common to get demons called in to collect the souls properly, however, it ends up with demons having to take the Limbon themself due to the soul refusing to leave the vessel. Often times, the Limbons never return.
• Some Limbons experience mutations, and it’s due to feeling powerful energy from the souls they bear, or some other. Very rare do they come across Limbons with soul-bearing Gaps located anywhere else that isn’t their chest.
Notes
• By sex, they come in female, male or intersex. They all have flat chests due to the Chest Gaps. By gender, they can identify as whatever gender they want to identify as.
• Their eyes and souls can be any color, as long as they're matching.
• They can have sex and reproduce.
• They cannot reproduce with other species.
