SO, WHAT IS THE SOLAR SYSTEM?
A tripartite of romance types recognized by Mahou Wando natives.
For real-world comparison; while on Earth humans are socialized to strive for one kind of romance, Mahou's will strive to build a distinct three.
WHAT IS THE CENTER OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM?
The center of the Solar System is the main character.
Think of them as a planet that is circled by these powerful and meaningful giants in their life.
Continuously affecting you in different ways, all positive.
WHAT ARE THE TIERS OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM AND WHAT DO THEY MEAN?
The Sun - The desire to change with someone.
The Moon - The desire to improve with someone.
The Star - The desire to mutually support someone.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE IN A SOLAR SYSTEM WITH SOMEONE?
To be someone's solar system is to commit to being a staple and/or reliable pillar in their life.
**You do not need to be in a Solar System with someone to be their best friend.**
**You don't need to be in a Solar System with someone to be their rival or their crush**
You should never ask to be in a solar system with someone because you want to be chill friends with them.
IS ASKING TO BE IN A SOLAR SYSTEM, LIKE DATING?
DO PEOPLE DATE IN MAHOU WANDO?
The solar system is not the beginning, it's more of the end goal, final affirmation, and the next step. When you ask someone to be in your solar system it's the NEXT STEP
after having a solid and functioning relationship with someone.
The solar system is found on MUTUAL INVESTMENT. The ideal way to form a bond is to have both parties mutually concede that their interest in each other matches up. And that goes for every tier.
DATING IS VERY MUCH STILL A THING!!!!
It's very common to be someone's long-time boyfriend FIRST before you're asked to be their Sun.
WHAT ABOUT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO JUMP STRAIGHT INTO IT?
Well, they're just moving very FAST.
It's very common for AGATHA ACADEMY STUDENTS to have filled in Solar Systems because children like to live fast and go HARD. It's considered to be very endearing for liberal types and HORRENDOUS for more conservative types.
There's not really a right or wrong way to do this, if your character just wants to jump straight into a Sun with someone- they can. But for many? It'll be a miracle if it lasts past high school.
CAN SOLAR SYSTEMS BE PLATONIC OR QUEERPLATONIC?
Yes! It's completely up to the center and how they personally define who will make a good Sun/Star/Moon for them and how they want to go about it. The Sun, Moon, and Star are primarily umbrella terms that are supposed to encapsulate the meaning and purpose of the relationship to the center, not what happens within it.

SHIFTING & OVERLAPPING | When the Star becomes the Sun?
Shifting is when someone who started off in one tier, transforms into another.
So when someone who was your Star becomes your Sun or Moon and vice versa.
When shifting happens does the previous person occupy two spots?
Typically? No. But, that's up to the Center.
Why does Shifting Happen?
A misunderstanding of the solar system owner's initial attraction to a person being clarified later on.
Can a Sun, Star, and Moon be the same person?
The goal of the solar system is to diversify personal relationships with unique individuals.
Ideally, one person shouldn't hold two spots. But, it can be done if the center truly feels that way.
Can you exhibit Moon-like behavior with your Star?
There should always be affection, challenge, and care in ANY tier of the solar system.
There is no behavior affiliated with any tier because it's defined by the individual's experience.
It's more of a feeling you get from a person. There are stereotypical ways each solar system forms, but with actual Mahou's it really does depend.
Example: You can naturally be pretty edgy and competitive with every tier of your solar system because that's how you engage with people. You can also be very sweet and romantic with all tiers of your solar system as well.
Ok, but what if I'm in a Star-ship but they're kind of my rival too?
That's a character decision. Again, a healthy branch of the solar system will exhibit traits found across the entire solar system. Each branch simply DEFINES the FOUNDATION and DIRECTION of that relationship.
BREAK-UPS | WHEN IT ALL FALLS APART...
There's no question that the Solar System is made to create complex, personal, and intimate bonds with others.
It encourages the hunt for Soulmates and people who complement or complete you.
And due to how deep some of these connections can be, when they fall apart they can be equally as devastating as they were meaningful.
What can break a Solar System?

- Having to move on / Growing out of it

Failed Stars
Pumpkinette + Pumpkit
A pair composed of the King of all Cursed Fruit and her right-hand man, Pumpkinette.
Their dynamic was of endless support and having each other's backs, often with Pumpkinette willing to gun down anyone who stood in the King's way. But during Halloween when Pumpkit conceded and accepted the help of Star Hargrooves- she made this decision without considering Pumpkinettes feelings who promptly stood against it. This caused a fissure in their relationship that ended with them parting ways.
Failed Suns
AgoKong + KaiLong
AgoKong and KaiLong were literally made for each other by realm founder Agatha Hargrooves and Rosencranz.
Their chemistry was eternally based on the adventures their creators created for them and it would last for as long as things were all well. But, when war broke out and the games came to an end. KaiLong and AgoKong were separated for thousands of years and when they finally meet again, KaiLong was thousands of years older while AgoKong was exactly how he was back then. With no connection to maintain, nor a creator to pilot their dynamic their sun promptly collapses.
Failed Moons
Soleil + Yue
Soleil and Yue were the highest-ranked students in their classes and were paired together after being elected as President and Vice-President respectively. Their relationship started off incredibly turbulent due to their different approaches to their work but found even footing and enjoyment in the chaos of their dynamic. But, there's an important saying; MOONS NEVER ACTUALLY HATE NOR HARM EACHOTHER. And Yue broke that rule. Yue caused physical permanent damage to Soleil's face and felt no remorse. In a healthy moon-ship, moons will never fatally injure or actually cause irreparable harm to each other. Yue's blatant disregard for Soleil's well-being and safety for her sense of justice turned their chaotic dynamic towards genuine malice and hatred that poisoned that well forever.

THE SOLAR SYSTEM IMPACTS MAHOU WANDO CULTURE
The Solar System is a well-known and adored part of Mahou Wando culture.
Due to its influence, Mahous often incorporate elements of its aesthetic and meanings into their everyday lives.
- There are many films, books, songs, and other mediums dedicated to exploring and romanticizing the solar system.
- Children have plenty of media to consume that teaches it to them ranging from their parents, favorite shows, peers, and more! There are many fairytales and books published in Mahou Wando based entirely on the hierarchy of the Solar System.
- Children raised in MaWa will often have parents that are in their own solar systems, giving them a variety of parental/supportive figures in their lives. (And Maybe more complex threads of family drama.)
- On Mawalyfe, it’s not uncommon to have one’s solar system public for all to see.
- People who’ve lived their entire lives in Mahou Wando have even named their children after the Sun, Moon, and Star in varying languages.

The moon is the most textured of relationships as it can take place any time and anywhere with platonic, combative, or sensual elements paired with its unpredictability. Moon relationships cannot be one-sided and must be matched and rematched constantly to determine the strength of both parties, for if one pulls too far ahead of another the Moon will be shattered.

Moon Crushes are often characterized by an intense desire to compete against someone you feel challenges you in the same objective or for superiority in the same field of activity.

It is characterized as the most powerful kind of affection one could feel for another. And its presence is considered even more welcome as its light shines opportunity wherever it goes. To be considered the Sun in someone's solar system is to be a life-long romantic partner or variations of such.
The Sun is not your Challenger nor your Guardian.
It is someone that holds intrigue and affection towards your core.
When it rises, you rise to greet it. Putting on your shoes and clothes to step out into the day.
And when its warmth shines on your face, you feel glad that you stepped out to meet it.

THE LUMINARY; The one who inspires transformation.
Sun Crushes are often characterized by an intense desire to settle down with or build something new with someone whether it be a home, family, hobby, business, and more.

To proclaim someone as your Sun in Year 2 of high school is the emotional equivalent of pronouncing yourself married. It's considered ULTRA Romantic and exciting to declare a partner the Sun of your solar system, but it can also be a little fast if you've only been dating them for a week or two...
