As for how Kitty Kois reproduce, it is not the same as regular humans. The process of making eggs is not restricted to the gender of the pair. They can be any gender pairing considering that the Kitty Koi reproduction process is all based on their magic.

When they find someone who they wish to mate with, the two Kitty Kois focus their magic to form a solid sphere. This forms a rather large, pearl-like egg. Most of the time Kitty kois can only produce one egg at a time due to the large amount of magic it takes to create the egg. There has been a rare occurrence where two eggs have been formed, so it’s not impossible! Once the egg is formed the pair make a safe and secretive nest in order to protect their egg(s). The reason why Kitty Kois are so secretive and protective of their eggs is to be sure that there will be no predators who can find the egg(s) and crack/ eat the unborn child. There are also those who are heartless and will steal the egg(s) for the pearl-like material and sell it on the black market.

The pearl-like eggs start out completely white, but will change in appearance to what the off-springs base tail color will be. The egg(s) take six months to hatch and the off-spring will look like a tadpole with small, flat ears and a bare fishtail. Their kitten eyes will be pale and blind for the first few days as they develop their sight and their true eye color.

With the newborn(s) being small and underdeveloped, they must stay in the water. As they grow the off-spring will begin to have more colors to their Koi tails, ears grow larger, and eventually they will develop lungs for breathing air like a human.

After about a month their tadpole bodies have developed into a human body and with their feline and koi features. From then the parents can officially bring their baby home to help them grow and develop into the world around them.
