Flora and Fauna

Some common species of things found in the world of Patissereign!

Fauna

Fauna in this world are typically called "creatures" as opposed to the word "animals".

Hypersentience

Scientists have studied many creatures over the years and have come to the conclusion that they usually show off certain levels of intelligence!  This phenomenon has be dubbed "hypersentience".  Creatures cannot speak, and aren't super geniuses, but usually display the following traits:

*Ability to understand spoken and written language

*Show critical thinking skills ranging from that of a toddler to that of a 10 year old child!

*Can use tools (like a pencil to write/scribble) and basic machinery (such a pressing a button on something, but not driving)

Because of this, creatures in history have helped jestefections and sugar haveners many times in society.  They also make very entertaining pets/companions, and have been known to help various people escape sticky situations with their myxoreigns (such as providing a distraction, etc).  While still wild in nature, jestefections treat creatures with respect.

Dinnexen

Dinnexens.  The majestic avians of the creature world.  Just kidding, they’re totally silly like our real world chickens.  And they run funny, too.  Dinnexens are gryphon like chicken creatures.  They have the front of a chicken with small gryphon like ears and two sets of wings with a draconic like tail and more reptile/mammal like hind legs. The front set of wings is larger than the back set.  They're about the size of a small-medium sized dog.

Dinnexens are omnivores, and thus eat both seed as well as insects and very small mammals, such as pice (mice/squirrel things).  Because of this, they are a) able to glide short distances (for hunting pice) and b) has more musculature than our real world chickens do.  This makes them excellent bar food as they have more meat!  This also requires that they have more land to roam on, as they can glide a bit and need space to stretch their wings.

For eating the wings, the front wings are larger than the back, and are about the size between a chicken wing and a turkey wing.  The back wings, on the other hand, are about the size of smaller range chicken wings.  You can actually order only the front or back wings depending on preference, and thus you can get:

  • Front wings only (mix)
  • Back wings only (mix)
  • Front wings, flats only
  • Front wings, drumettes only
  • Back wings, flats only
  • Back wings, drumettes only
  • All (complete mix)
Front wings are usually associated with sports since they’re larger and have more meat.  The back wings are more used for hors d'oeuvres and more upscale dishes.   Normally at tailgates you’ll see the front wings or a mix.
