Frederick Waltz's Links
[Rival] Once a hit request, but now personal with the death of his aunt. Frederick took Taka's mother's life as a form of revenge, but he won't be satisfied until Taka's dead as well. Shot him in the face once, leaving a scar on his cheek.
If you intend to ship someone with Freddy, you'll be insta-locked into a love triangle with Taka aiming for your heart too.
[Rival] Has a longtime hatred for the Nightingale for killing his parents. Wants to kill him slowly and painfully. Once shot Frederick in the stomach and left a scar there.
If you plan to ship a male character with Taka, you'll be insta-locked into a love triangle with Frederick aiming for your heart as well.
[Best Friend] Cameron's best friend. No matter how distant Frederick is, Cameron's always there like some puppy eager to play. Every insult the detective hurls Cameron laughs off. Despite this, Frederick would concede that the cop is far more deadlier than him.
[Best Friend] Frederick's best friend, or more the only person that's capable of withstanding his cold gaze for so long. Often counters the detective's harsh attitude with his lighthearted one. Helps him with his requests and when people are too suspicious of Frederick's real position. In return he drags him with him to bars for karaoke.
[Lovers] Perhaps it was the simplistic life Ethan always lived, maybe it was how he still kept going despite his bad luck. Frederick wasn't sure what drew him close to the young man, but he fell in love almost instantly. Finally he found his feelings returned, and he'll never let go of them. He'll be that one instance of good luck Ethan has.
[Lovers] It's still something Ethan needs a moment to understand, having someone so cool and mysterious like Frederick interested in him. Originally they met through Ethan's bad luck making him out to be some bad criminal, but the longer the two spent time together the more they began to develop feelings for one another. Bad luck still likes to cling around Ethan, but with Frederick there to help him each time... things are a lot easier.
[Rival] There is no restriction on age for a target, that means children can be one too. Frederick has long taken the emotion out of his hits, and feels nothing for taking the life of Reed's daughter. She wasn't the first, and she definitely won't be the last.
[Rival] He doesn't know WHO the Nightingale is, but he wants them dead after taking his daughter's life.
Frederick is aware that Cecil is his boss, but he does not respect him. He sees Cecil as a brat with a bad attitude, even if he's older than him. He'll do his work, but he won't interact with him otherwise.
Like he is with Cameron, Cecil is Frederick's boss. Unlike Cameron, however, Frederick seems to mind his business and does his work diligently. He has a kind of attitude, the chief notices, with the way he blatantly ignore him at times.
He has no idea that Frederick is the Nightingale, and instead gets impatient with the lack of evidence the detective has gotten over the infamous assassin.
Being a detective, Frederick doesn't work alongside Daniel very often. The only times he recalls seeing the man are when they're either at the same crime scene, or when Cameron's dragging them both to go out drinking. He doesn't have much of an opinion on Daniel, finding him to be a spineless coward, although admittedly he thinks that way about many of his coworkers.
The times Daniel’s come into contact with Frederick while working are ones fraught with nervousness: the man seems in a different league altogether, and his frigidity is always more than enough to make Daniel even more timid than usual. It doesn’t help that he can’t make any sense of how the detective acts when Daniel’s forced to be in the same bar as him. He doesn’t know Frederick’s opinion of him, but it probably wouldn’t make matters any worse if he did; he already can’t seem to reflect on encounters with him—the memory usually amps up his nervousness in a different, somehow darker way than it might if he were simply embarrassed.
When tasked with taking Grandfather's life, Frederick tried to hack into one of the servers run by Prodigal. There he was surprised to find someone capable of fighting off his virus in real time, even as much as sending it back. When he met Emery, they reached a deal of her keeping his secret in exchange for some tricks that could sharpen her hacking skills. They both regard each other as silent friends.
Emery's rival and eventual "business partner." She only found him as a nuisance going against the Prodigal before the girl could realize his potential - therefore doing everything she could to reach some form of compromise. Now, the problem subsides and they simply ask eachother for favors from time to time. Emery contacts Frederick for support and sometimes invites him out for dinner. Emery doesn't have friends when she's working under Grandfather - with the exception of Mr. Waltz.
Many people respect Jey, but not Frederick. The older detective showed promise, yet ran away with his tail between his legs at the sight of a few dead bodies. In Frederick's opinion, that's purely cowardice. If you can't handle the darkest of crimes, then don't get a job involving it.
Call it Detective's Instinct, but he can't help but get a bad feeling about Detective Waltz. Even when they worked in the same area Jey kept his distance from him. Frederick was always cold and kept short conversations with people. There was always something in his eyes that reminded him of the apathetic stares of the killers they had caught. It was a heavily unwelcoming feeling.
"How did this ring get on my finger...?"
"This is my detective/assassin husband."
[Related] Charlotte is Frederick's daughter after he finally considered having a child far in the future with the help of a surrogate. He's aware that he's strict and possibly harsh, but only wants the best for her and to build her into a respectable assassin.
[Related] Frederick is Charlotte's father; he is her mentor and role model, and she has nothing but the utmost respect for him. She aspires to be like him and will do anything she can to maintain the Nightingale's terrifying yet respectable infamy.
[Related] Annie's grandfather. There are times when he wishes to teach Anna some form of self-defense, perhaps take her out on one Nightingale mission, but she seems more enthusiastic about watching a... a free marathon?
[Related] Freddy's granddaughter. Annie sees her grandfather time to time, but he's more there to visit Aniki. He's an intimidating man that sometimes makes Annie want to avoid talking to him altogether, but in the rare moments she does talk to him she tries to explain anime, to which she's given a blank, maybe cold, stare.
[Related] His grandfather. Frederick will oftentimes come by to help him learn how to properly take on the Nightingale title but... half the time he isn't sure what that boy is talking about.
The woods vs technology. With Mike's remote location there are little to nothing Frederick can track him down with, and what's worse is that Ethan's devices are missing. With each day Ethan continues to stay missing Freddy gets more and more anxious... hoping to get to him before that freak does anything permanent.
Why the cold face? Mike thinks Frederick should relax a little bit. Otherwise, it would only increase his desire to torture his lover as he records his screams and sends it over anonymously. Mike wonders how the detective would look if he was the one being tortured instead.
Babysitting Cameron alone is enough trouble as is, but him AND Ryan? That's simply unfair. He's childish and far too energetic, and he ignores work to try and get a high five out of him. Last time Ryan even tried to grab his arm to force a high five! Unfortunately for him, it ended with a punch to the gut.
Fredrick looks grumpy/annoyed everytime Ryan's around him; he wonders why. Despite this, the cop believes that behind Freddy's cold facade lies a happy little man inside. He's probably a little shy or something, right? To this day, Ryan continues to attempt doing high-fives with him.
It's clear that Lachlan is here with ulterior motives. Whether it's to try and usurp some ranks or steal documents, Frederick's not sure, but as long as he stays out of his way it's fine.
Frederick surely wouldn't be happy knowing that Lachlan's goal is more twisted- but he's good at keeping his tracks covered. So let's hope he won't be too much of an issue, yeah?
Oftentimes Frederick would have to clean up after Cameron, cleaning the crime scene and removing any and all traces that could lead to him. Bleu's the only person he knows understands how irritating this is, and he's glad to have someone to rant about it too.
Bleu admires Mr. Frederick Simply for the fact that he has to work with Cameron on a daily basis and has (as far as she's aware of anyway) not shot him once! She sympathizes with him as she also has to clean up messes when Cameron gets too reckless though she does it for Dr.Decius rather than anything else as things would get complicated if any murder was connected to Dr.Decius son. However, she enjoys Mr. Fredricks's company and happily listens to his rants grateful that she is not the only one who finds Cameron as reckless as he is stupid.
