De Jack Isaac Zilvas's Links
Conner's a very interesting new student... He might be graduating pretty soon, but we might have to request he continue mentoring for that Mana of his. That can be a very useful and dangerous Element to wield...
Of course we end up stopping in the town that has a private magic school nearby. Probably would be best to get better training for my Mana here... I might end up getting myself killed with it otherwise.
We used to see each other pretty regularly, but that all changed when Vi died and Lady Yashana made him go into hiding... I don't know if he's still around, but I hope he knows how sorry I am that I couldn't protect her...
I haven't seen Jack since shortly after Vi's death. Those two were so happy together... I bear no ill will toward him, for he will wear those scars for all Eternity as we all must.
It's really trippy seeing a deity older than you as a formless Elemental for trillions of years and now he's suddenly in a mortal form that looks the same age as your son. Ah well, you're as young as you feel. I know that all too well.
It's probably going to be just as weird if you one day decide to change your age, because you've looked like that longer than some planets have existed around here, Jacky.
If only Isaac could've been better friends with this sister... Sure, she's not stellar, but she's leagues better than Demi.
Pfft, Isaac's a freak, but I'd take him as a brother over my own twin sister any day. She’s only gonna make yer boy worse.
You know those types you tell your kids to stay away from? Yeah, Demi is all of those types put together. No wonder Isaac is messed up.
BAD INFLUENCE, RIGHT HERE, POISONING YER CHILD, PROBLEM JACKY?
He's not exactly responsible, but he's doing his best. Hard to keep a handle on things when you've got those kind of siblings to look after. Wish Blacc Katt would make it a little easier on him by leaving the poor kid alone though.
Yeah, about that... wanna talk to yer deity pal and get him to quit nagging me? It's cutting into my beauty sleep.
Hoo boy, this kid's gonna turn out pretty messed up with a family like that... He's already pretty problematic, but Isaac's also pretty problematic, so I can't judge.
Ain't no going back now. And considering how weird our parents were too, I don't think it would've helped much even if they were still around.
So peculiar... I wonder why this one's connection to Lord Dalia is so dormant... He should've been first in line to be his host, but his rifting is completely unresponsive... Still ought to keep an eye out for him and his family... Shana’s followers won't be so discerning with which of Dalia's followers they pursue.
As long as he keeps Alec from getting himself killed too many more times than he already has, I don't really care what goes on in magic-land or whatever. I don't wanna get involved in this destiny nonsense and the fate of creation.
Yeah, we don't let Enlightened wander Emdrica, but I have no such rules against ex-Enlightened. I have a soft spot for angsty single dads anyway, so I'll give him all the help he needs. Those little girls of his shouldn't be punished for what their father did during the War.
I'm surprised he would be willing to turn the other cheek considering the atrocities of the Enlightened... but I'm thankful for it. Mira and Kimi don't deserve to face any hatred for the things I've done... I can't imagine what I'd do if they were blamed too.
Dremvati occasionally comes to the bar, usually to meet up with Mordekai for conversations or advice. She frequents the demonic hangouts more often though, but she seems well put together compared to most demonic folks.
Jack's a cool cat, and he's always got the info you need. I frequent other bars in Daliarivon more than Emdrica, but there's no better place to go when looking for leads.
Josh's older brother isn't a rifter, but he seems to appreciate the resources the school system has here. I hope he either finishes his studies soon or learns not to overwork himself... he's the only one that looks after Josh, and he could use more attention from his family soon...
Seems like Josh has been well taken care of by the staff around the school... although it shouldn't have to be this way. I want out of that house as much as he does, but honestly our parents should shape up instead of relying on other people to give him a decent upbringing.
Ein's a sweet and odd kid, and he seems to be taking the private-school-that's-basically-magic-public-school thing rather well. Not a lot of past rifters from rich non-rifting families have been as cooperative.
You know what, I don't even remember what instrument I started out with in band. Jack's just a really good teacher, so I can't help but want to learn all of them.
I've had to shell out some cash to fix her establishment just so she wouldn't make Neoka holier than a Bible made out of Swiss cheese. *sigh* Kids will be kids... always with the property damage and playing with explosives...
Considering how rich he is, he doesn't have much to complain about other than that Emtratika brat being an embarassment.
I've mentioned the whole probably-a-Skydric thing to him before, but I don't think he believes me yet. It's why I haven't mentioned the possibly-related-to-the-Birdsib-Cult thing yet.
I've done a lot of magic tricks before, but I've never sprouted a pair of wings before. I mean, if he's sure about it, I'll stay open-minded, but...
I can tell, he'd be an excellent successor to his bloodline... We just need to figure out how to keep Nyfringe Nyre away from him.
I think things would've gone a lot more smoothly if we'd managed to get back to the US with mom and Calik instead of getting delayed by that earthquake. Then again... would that mean I'd be in the same position Calik is in now? I might not have encountered Nyfringe Nyre at all if we got there on time... so would I still be first in line to be Dalia's Host?
Erin's so mellow when playing her french horn, she should try the mellophone too. You'd never expect she's so intense if you only knew her through band.
I'm more interested in dance that actually playing music, but Jack's a good teacher and the class is... interesting. It would be a shame to miss out on it.
This is the jumpy sweetheart that Arth brought back from the Enlightened. Seems like a nice kid, but the experience along with the War has definitely made a mark on his psyche.
I was pretty nervous about going to live in Emdrica considering how unwelcome the Enlightened was there... but Arth was right. Sir Zilvas seems to be really nice to the handful of struggling ex-Enlightened members that have been rolling into town, us being no exception.
Oh boy, little Fathom grew up a lot since the last time I saw him in Emdrica. And he's gotten a lot more... troublesome since then too. But he's still got a good heart in there... somewhere...
Jack helped me out during the years I spent in Emdrica. Pretty cool guy, and now I learn he's also a band teacher in some magic school in Taliac that we happen to be one town over from. That's... oddly coincidental, but not that surprisingly considering all the other shit thrown at us all the time.
Hal only started taking band classes after Portia suggested it. He had a little trouble at first remembering all the fingerings and figuring out reading music, but it was nothing a bit of extra tutoring didn't smooth out. He's one of my best baritone players now, and he's the only one who's not obnoxious.
Jack seems a little weird on a glance, but he's a really nice teacher. I didn't really have interest in band as a kid, but I wanted to at least try it since it's one of Portia's interests. He really helped me catch up with those missed years most of the other kids have, and while I wouldn't say I'm great, I think I've gotten the hang of things.
Lady Amradelta's new successor is too dang precious. Pity he doesn't swing by Emdrica more often, but I can see why Nuke thinks so highly of him.
I only meet with Sir Zilvas occasionally, for I do not frequent Emdrica on my travels. However he is an invaluable ally to have for the side of our Lord, and I'm truly grateful for the hospitality he's shown to Nuke.
Don't worry about a thing, that's none of my business anymore. I'm always happy to help.
I have nothing to say about what I've committed during my time with the Enlightened. That's between me and Lord Dalia. However, you do have my gratitude for looking after Randin in my absence.
Jasper is just a darling. Poor thing is so jumpy and has had a horrible time of things, but I'm glad he's slowly easing into his environment. His friends managed to teach him to play bass rather well too, and it's obvious he picks up on things rather easy due to that attentiveness and focus.
Sir Jack seems nice. He looks a little more like the people I'm used to seeing. Facial tattoos don't seem as popular here.
Every few years, the trumpet section seems to get taken over by a clique. These last few years, it's been dominated by the computer gamers, or the nerds, if you want to be more stereotypical about it. In that case, Jeremy's the sweetest little nerd you'll ever encounter.
A lot of people say the trumpet section is full of nerds, but then Jack always refers to the section as a "trumpet gang." I never thought I'd be in a "gang," but Tabitha has reeeeeally played up that concept that I can't help but accept it.
Ah, I remember years ago when Jef first started band and melted his first trombone. It was borrowed from the school, and if Fyre Elementals could cry he probably would've been trying not to bawl in front of me when he broke the news. Sweet kid.
Still can't believe Jack just gave me a heat-proof trombone for free. It's not even a rental for school, he just gave it to me after I melted one of theirs. I don't think I'll ever meet a cooler teacher.
*smiles* I don't know who you're talking about.
Sir Zilvas is aware I'm around, but he's been nice enough to not talk about it.
