Profile

Physical Appearance

  • Long white hair that trails slightly past his hips
  • Gray eyes
  • Medium-tone black skin (meaning not pitch black, but also not gray)
  • Medium to somewhat tall in height
  • Delicate and somewhat feminine build, his hips being somewhat wide
  • Slightly pointed ears, although they're always covered by his hair

Clothing Style

Idramae tends to dress in dark colors, usually black or dark brown, and his outfits always tend to include long sleeves and boots to shin or knee length. Normally he tends to wear the light robes traditional of Ramitva seers, although since he's been on the run he tends to wear outfits that only have a similar feel to them. His outfits are therefore rather simple and not incredibly ornate. His overall look along with his physical appearance is somewhat feminine, but he doesn't wear outfits that consist of specifically women's clothing.

His primary outfit consists of a dark brown, high-collared, long-sleeved top with matching pants that crop at the knee. Both have various cutouts, the top most notably at the shoulders and abdomen area while the bottom has only two front cutouts for each thigh. Around his hips is a thin black belt with a split black skirt that is more open in the front and back and covers the sides of his hips/thighs. He wears black, heeled shin-high boots, and he typically doesn't wear any other accessories aside from occasionally a silver scarf.

Personality

Idramae is a gentle and down to earth man who looks after those around him and always seems to keep an even temper. He is very patient and compassionate, and he tends to be rather protective of others, even if they might not necessarily need it. He has always been very mature and responsible, even in his youth, and he tends to act very motherly and tender. That coupled with his graceful and delicate mannerisms along with his appearance often leads to him being mistaken for a woman. He doesn't seem to mind, but he doesn't particularly appreciate when it leads to people flirting with him. He never seems to get angry, although he is capable of becoming upset or cross, but it takes quite a bit to get to him since he's very patient and tolerant. He is very much a pacifist and does not wish ill will on anyone, even those who probably deserve it. Idramae always maintains a level head in any situation, and although always kind to others, he's not against lecturing people that make poor decisions.

Although he loves other people and is always wishing for their well being, he actually prefers to spend most of his time alone. He seems to enjoy solitude and nature the most, and he usually most content when left to his thoughts in the quiet ambience of forests. He by no means dislikes company though, and he enjoys conversations with anyone kind and pleasant enough to speak with him. When confronted by unpleasant people, he tends to quietly remove himself from the situation, and although he is against using violence, if pushed too far he's not against using his powers to forcefully remove the offender from his presence in a non-violent way (which could consist of him trapping them in an energy shield that will only disappear once Idramae's able to leave).

Abilities

  • Lyfe rifting - rank 5/5, can increase temporarily to lesser deity-like levels when channeling his ancestral spirit
  • Lyte rifting - rank 5/5, can increase temporarily to lesser deity-like levels when channeling his ancestral spirit
  • Deyth rifting - rank 5/5, can increase temporarily to lesser deity-like levels when channeling his ancestral spirit
    • He refuses to use Deyth rifting though
  • Flight by levitation
  • Skilled at various domestic skills, such as cooking, mending clothing, etc.

Strengths

  • Down to earth, compassionate, and honest
  • Easy to approach and talk to, supportive, and good with children
  • Protective, selfless, and has a strong moral compass
  • Observant, patient, and level headed

Weaknesses

  • Is a pacifist and refuses to use any of his abilities offensively rather than defensively
  • Although more firm with his close friends, he can be rather passive around strangers and usually shies away
  • Gets emotionally distraught by disregard of life or of the natural balance of the Eternity
  • Stressed out by excessive noise and gets uncomfortable in crowds, and he tends to hide his negative feelings and overwork himself

Backstory

Idramae grew up the oldest of 12 siblings, and he often helped take care of his siblings due to lack of contribution from their father. His mother was of the Fiaran bloodline, although she nor any of her children save for Idramae and his youngest brother, Nukularai, displayed any signs of inheriting their ancestral powers of healing. His mother implored him to keep their heritage secret from their father, and although Idramae never really understood why, he obliged and opted to only practice his abilities in secret. The family situation did not improve as he grew up, and his father became increasingly abusive to his mother until he accidentally killed her during a heated argument. Idramae's inherited spiritual powers that imprisoned Nyfringe Nyre's soul temporarily spiked from the shock and sorrow, and the Deyth Element's soul momentarily took over Idramae and killed his father. Idramae, having no direct recollection of the act but knowing how he did it, gave his parents a hasty burial so his siblings would not have to see, although Nukularai did witness their deaths. Idramae is uncertain if his brother remembers or even understood what happened then, since Nuke was still an infant at the time.

Idramae continued to care for his siblings until the Enlightened began appearing in Ramitva searching for him. Idramae left his siblings in the care of the seers of Ramitva and fled from his home world at the age of 16 to protect them and the community, and he lived on the move around the Eternity and Daliarivon for years. During this span of time when he was 19 years old, he was taken over by Nyfringe Nyre again, and before he could regain control of himself, Nyfringe Nyre managed to lay claim to the soul of Erik Dalian. Idramae also does not recall this period of time and is unaware of Nyfringe Nyre's connection to a potential host of Lord Dalia. He continued living on the run until the age of 25 when he was captured by Shana's generals and forced under her will. Idramae unknowingly fought on her side until she was defeated at the end of the War and he was freed from her influence.

Since then, Idramae has resumed his travels, doing what he can to aid in healing the wounds left by the War all across the Eternity. The Enlightened continues to pursue him to try and reclaim his powers they had exploited during the War, and Idramae has realized they are also hunting down Nuke, who is now grown and in desperate need of mentoring to control his volatile powers. Idramae is currently trying to balance his mission to heal their world, avoiding the Enlightened, and training Nuke to use his powers without harming others. Oddly enough Idramae and other Anadicans seem to be immune to Nuke's deadly touch, and Idramae is finding it difficult to convince Nuke what the problem actually is.

Trivia:

  • Idramae was initially created at the same time as Nyfringe to be something of an "alter ego" or the good side of him that they would flip between periodically. Later on they were developed to be different characters and Nyfringe is now an entity sealed away within Idramae who can occasionally possess him to do nefarious things.
  • Idramae was first created to be a friend of Shinda during the time before Shinda was turned into a vampire.
    • He was later assembled with Alderan, Neoka, Ladia, and Tara as a small team of five referred to as the Five Death Rifters that were Shana's agents during the War.
    • When the timeline of the Eternity was starting to be more solidified, I realized that these two instances would never work out since Shinda was alive before the First War, which occurred trillions of years before the current War that the Death Rifters are a part of.
    • For this reason, there's a very strange time-travel feature in the canon of the Eternity so Idramae is both part of the present and the past events.
  • This time travel feature involves an alternate timeline in which Shinda was never turned into a vampire by Shana and instead was killed before she ever encountered him. Shinda played an important role in allowing Lord Dalia's forces to defeat Shana after he turned on her, but they were able to still defeat her even without him. However, when the present day War rolled around many years later, Damion (the Chronos Element) realized there was something out of place in the Creator's divine plan. Shana's forces were nearing victory against them, and Damion quickly determined that there was an important figure from the past that needed to be present. Idramae was one of the few people on Dalia's side who wasn't killed or incapacitated, so Damion sent him back in time to "fix the error in the Creator's script."
    • Idramae was dropped on Shiwahono shortly before the event in which Shinda was attacked by a rogue Draconen Veira, and he acted quickly enough to save Shinda's life.
    • Although this was all he was required to do, Idramae ended up befriending Shinda since there was no means of returning to his own time. Idramae also was able to reveal Shinda's bride-to-be as treacherous due to his knowledge of Shana's deception from the future, but he mysteriously disappeared from the timeline before Shana's attack on Dracone and Shinda's subsequent turning into a vampire.
    • When Shinda and Idramae meet in the present day of the true timeline, Shinda remembers Idramae from his past even though this technically isn't the same Idramae. Oddly enough, Idramae does seem to recall those events and his friendship with Shinda in the past, although he does not seem to remember the doomed timeline that he was sent back in time from.
  • Even though their minds were mostly manipulated by Shana during their time as Death Rifters, Neoka and Idramae ended up becoming close friends through the brief periods of time that their true natures could shine through. As Death Rifters, they worked together very closely and tended to be sent on most missions together.
    • They consider each other to be very close friends, although sometimes it seems like their relationship is almost that of a parent and a child considering how much "motherly" advice and nagging that Idramae has to give Neoka since he's such a disaster.
    • A lot of Neoka's friends like to tease him about supposedly having the hots for Idramae and that "Idramae is the only man beautiful enough to turn such an adamantly straight man gay," but Neoka obviously denies this and says he's just very fond of him. Idramae is thoroughly oblivious to such talk.
    • Neoka's arguments in his defense tend to be "Idramae is asexual" or "Idramae is almost ten years older than me” or “we have the same famous ancestors, so we’re distantly family, and that would be gross,” but most people don't believe him considering how intimate Neoka tends to be with Idramae. Of course, Idramae never seems to notice the gossip, and he doesn’t mind how affectionate that Neoka is toward him.
  • Idramae's design was initially made around the premise that I could not draw masculine men when I was in elementary/middle school, so I was just "hey, just draw him like you would a woman and make him like those typical anime guys that get mistaken for girls." I didn't know there was a "term" for it back then since that just seemed like a thing that was relatively common in anime.
    • Nowadays it's not even a gimmick anymore, he just looks very feminine, so don’t call him a trap or else *insert generic overly-violent threat of bodily harm here*. XP
  • Neoka is particularly touchy about other people flirting with Idramae when he clearly doesn't desire such attention and has no interest in such relationships. It's especially irritating when creepy men tend to flirt with or catcall Idramae under the assumption that he is a woman, and Neoka is usually pretty aggressive about keeping such people away from Idramae since he is often too gentle and non-confrontational to do anything about it.
  • Idramae's voice is a little light and gentle, but he doesn't particularly sound like a woman, or at least his voice isn't particularly feminine or high enough to sound especially like a typical woman's voice, but it's also not terribly deep either. It’s just androgynous enough to confuse people when combined with his appearance.
  • I have a World of Warcraft character named after him, although it is a female Draenei Priest, since the feminine figure is much closer to what he looks like than the male Draenei model. Her character model has a dark skin tone and white hair like him, and she is usually Holy or Discipline specced.
  • Enjoys cooking and baking quite a bit, and he has a habit of compulsively asking others if they're hungry or if they'd like any snacks. He hasn't seen his family in many years, but it's still ingrained in his mind to look after others and dote on them in a motherly sense.
  • Fond of tea and tends to enjoy more subtle flavors to help him wind down.
  • One of his favorite pastimes is meditating outdoors when the weather is pleasant and the environment is quiet. He tends to do so in the forest or more grassy areas if possible and away from any other people. He certainly enjoys nature and the outdoors more than civilization.
    • He tends to like places where he can find solitude the most appealing, but Idramae does legitimately enjoy having pleasant company over being alone.
  • Entirely likely that animals are drawn to him like a Disney princess.
  • Although Idramae and Nuke hadn't seen each other since Nuke's childhood, they have managed to become very close rather quickly after reuniting. Idramae still looks after him in a rather motherly manner, especially since he has taken up mentoring Nuke in attempting to get a better grasp over his powers.
    • Idramae apparently has the same destructive powers that Nuke has inherited from their ancestors, but Idramae refuses to use it and only uses his defensive and healing abilities. Nuke is also a pacifist, but his abilities are only destructive because he does not have control over them.
  • Idramae enjoys traveling in order to see new places and take in new experiences, but in all honesty he sort of wishes he could settle down somewhere. He hasn't really found a place that he could call home though.
  • A particular pet peeve of his is being around people who are clearly wasting their potential. He doesn't expect people to be productive and working all the time, but he doesn't like seeing people blatantly squandering their own opportunities and failing to take the steps to put themselves in a better place/situation when it's clearly placed at their feet.
  • His favorite color is light/pastel blue.
