Midori is a creative, first and foremost. She's bursting with new and exciting project ideas all the time, and her hive is absolutely splattered in all of the colors of the rainbow; served with a healthy side of glitter too, of course! Though many see Midori as still in the 'arts and crafts' stage of her creation, she takes herself just as seriously as all the artists in the media who do their work for a living, although Midori's certainly glad that she doesn't have the deal with the same pressure as Kotriz Basilk.
Midori is, in all honesty, pretty much just your typical average 12-year-old with anxiety that you'd find here on earth. She's walking through life on wobbly legs, not quite sure of her identity yet but slowly trying to explore it in a world that's growing more dangerous for her by the day. She's got almost unlimited potential, but she needs to step into herself first before she's going to be able to use any of it.
Character
"Just be yourself!" has to be the worst piece of advice ever given in the history of existence. What if yourself isn't really likeable to the people you're talking to? And what does it even mean to be oneself; how are you supposed to just know who that is? Such questions are likely to belong to Midori Mingji on her daily walk, who's currently having her regularly scheduled mid-planet crisis while also trying to figure out how this whole 'growing up' thing works. In Midori's opinion, the whole thing is just a load of garbage. Who really needs to grow up, anyways?
Midori's at the stage of life where having a normal conversation with anyone your age seems impossible, but conquering the world is just a couple days around the corner. Though she's certainly got personality, she's got no idea how to express it in a way that other people understand, and so is often left frustrated and upset when things don't go the way she planned- which is unfortunately often. If she can handle the awkwardness for the next few Perigrees, then she's sure to come out of it stronger and more prepared to take on the world.
Abilities
ASTONISHING ARTISTE: Midori's been drawing her whole life and has a good amount of experience in a number of mediums. Though she's only got the budget of a 5-sweep-old limeblood, the works that she does often have good composition and basic anatomy (and sparkles, obviously). Given some time to cook and learn her craft, Midori has very real 'famous artist' potential. Midori extends this skill past the canvas and into a real-life skillset, and she is able to make and repair clothes easily. She'll also draw on or embroider articles of clothing to embellish or customize them. What a crafty queen!
GLITTER BOMB: Midori is an absolute menace when it comes to glitter of any kind. She will get it anywhere and everywhere completely unapologetically, and even uses it as a weapon for the exact reason that you're never going to entirely be able to get it out- her preferred brand is the finest grain on the market. Some may call her 'pure evil' because of it, but Midori prefers to think of it as "psychic damage over time" instead. Plus, she only uses the non-biodegradable glitter on people she REALLY hates, so it's basically like she's not even doing anything wrong!
Notes
- Midori has no visible pupils, but makes up for her misssing 'eye-dots' with copious amounts of multicolored green freckles ('face-dots').
- Despite Midori's wings, she can't fly or glide at all. It's one of her biggest insecurities.
- Midori makes or upcycles around half of the clothes in her closet.
- The Bookhive is Midori's favorite place to sit and draw quietly. It's got just the right amount of coziness and safety.
- Midori's hair is waist-length, and her hair was dyed by herself for the first time recently (everyone can tell).
Relationships
Tadjia Karmos [ Girl (space) Friend ]
Midori's not sure why Tadjia sticks around her when she's so lame while Tadjia's so cool. She hopes its not out of a sense of obligation or pity- that'd be a really awkward situation to have to deal with. Could it be that they're actually real, genuine friends? ...Impossible.
Hadara Dracma [ Hemoddity Homeslice ]
Despite only being half a sweep older, Hadara is so wise and always knows what to say to make Midori feel better. She enjoys finding solace in the fact that her and Hadara are both odd quirks of the hemospectrum, but are both still living well regardless.
