Backstory
Inkwell comes from a long line of high aura Lefikas, and as soon as it became apparent that he was high aura as well he began training to harness his excess magic. He was generally left to his own devices as a child, spending most of his time training rather than socializing. He began by mastering his geoshifting abilities, before moving onto object enchanting, electromancy, and cryomancy. He left his home in Pab’zuaan as soon as he became an adult and headed for Wyndgale.
Inkwell ended up in the Foes District, and joined the arcana guild in order to continue to hone his own power and gain access to more complex magic. He became an enchanter full time, starting with small, simple enchantments before moving to more complex projects. He found work through his connections in the arcana guild, and was eventually introduced to the world of aura based robotics. Inkwell found automatons absolutely fascinating. Though Inkwell took on a few apprentices through the guild, none of them stuck around for long. His final apprentice was Airager, a high aura Lefika who wanted to be anywhere but in Wyndgale. Inkwell saw a bit of himself in Airager, but they stayed distant for the length of her apprenticeship, only interacting when Inkwell was teaching her magic.
After many years spent honing his craft, Inkwell began his own automaton building endeavor. He moved to Steam City, Nox and hired two Rubasyns, Talin and Pyrefly, who were already very familiar with automaton construction. Inkwell returned to the Foes District after the business was established, trusting his employees to get the job done in his absence. However, he still makes the journey to the city often to check up on how his employees' work is progressing. Inkwell sells his automatons to the highest bidder in most cases, meaning that many of them end up in automaton fighting rings. He refuses to sell to Lace Ups as he finds their habits of using sentient automatons in their fights disturbing. Not all of his automatons end up in fighting either, some become attendants to the wealthy, and others find jobs in other parts of the world.
