Insider's Look Into Personality

Meeting Eli, its very clear that boy can be boisterous, exuberant, and unorthodox with the tendency to roar whenever he's feeling emotional. Though he responds best to competition and is not afraid to ask for assistance, Eli is relatively naïve and slow to understand principles which is no surprise due to his age. He often requires an oversimplified analogy in order to grasp explanations. Despite his naivety, Eli can be quite observant, picking up on things others miss and retaining information casually gathered through conversation. The runt is heedless to formality and social standings, addressing certain people with nicknames instead of honourifics. Despite his quirks and the criticism they earn him, Eli is said to have a personality that draws people to him, inspiring friendship and loyalty through acts of genuine kindness that could change a person's world view and thus built meaningful relationships. He deeply cherishes these bonds and will go to great lengths to protect them.

Eli carries a desire for acknowledgement. This can be hinted at through his pranks around the village he stuck around in as a means to get others to notice him, even if it meant by scolding him. It's one of the reasons why he strives to be a guild member as he feels that the epitome of acknowledgement and respect.Knowing his dream is a long, arduous and seemingly impossible path, Eli developed his own code of never going back on his word. This life-long philosophy serves as the cornerstone of Eli's great self-confidence; he believes he can accomplish any goal with enough hard work and perseverance, no matter what.

Summary of Appearance

Eli takes the form of a bipedal, dinosaurian Pokémon that resembles a large theropod. His body is dark gray with a small hump on his back, and his belly and lower jaw are a reddish-orange. The head is large in proportion to his body and has a blunt snout with a ridge above the nostrils. Two teeth are visible in the lower jaw, while the upper jaw has two tooth-like spikes. On top of his head are two orange spikes and simplistic, stylized skull on his forehead with the eye orbits creating eyebrow patterning above his actual eyes. There are white bands on his ankles (and his tail) and rib-like ridges on his back. He has a black around the lower edge of each eye. Around his neck is a fluffy ruff of black, primitive feathers. He has tiny forelimbs with two white claws each. The hind legs are more developed and have rectangular and a circular, red paw pads on each of his three-toed paws. His tail is short with an orange spike near the tip.

  • Underneath his right paw is a ID number that is listed here: TH-696228.
  • Eli's body is a mixture of fur and feathers instead of scales and feathers.
  • Every once in a while, Eli is seen wearing a red cape. Most of the time, it's when he is in a snowy environment.
  • There is a hidden scar underneath his layer of fur found on his belly.

Story

Summary

Doorstep baby. You're probably very familiar of the trope if I set the scene. Underneath a raining day, a mother (or father) is seen carrying a baby in a basket. The parent is sometimes draped in a cloak to avoid being seen. They reached a door to a house and ringed the doorbell. They quickly placed down the basket and escape through the night as the door opens. Stepping out, a person stands there and glance down towards the child before them, which may hold a note. In some respects, Finn is a doortep baby to some extent. However, his origins wasn't quite as typical as you what you expect.

It all started in a lab. Ferals and Pokemon alike have been locked away in cells to be used as experiments for various projects. Upon these beings was Eli. With no knowledge of what happened to his parents and the blood of a Houndour flowing through his veins, the time that Eli spent in this lab left him fearful and scared for his life until a strange mechanical beast appeared. This beast would slaughter the scientists in this lab and freed the Pokemon and ferals inside. Once its job was done, it left. However, as such curious as ever and with no place to go, Eli followed this beast for over a year. The beast did not stop him and simply let him follow along until it was able to find a place for the boy to stay in in hopes someone would take him in.

The metallic beast didn't realize that it would that village, a duo would arrive and take that boy in as their own.

The Story of a Young Dinosaur

The other Gods call him Ogun. It was a name given to him by the God of Many Hands and was meant to be a nod to his affinity to iron. Ogun was once a primitive beast that was regarded as apex predator at a time. He would die at some point before he would return to this world centuries later with his body composed of steel. Despite killing the ones that rebuilt him, the God of Many Hands made him ascend to godhood and gifted him a name the mortals would refer to him as: Genesect. When Ogun wasn't advancing technology with Magearna and Miraidon, he was scoping the land of labs where Pokemon attempt to play God. To craft new Pokemon was considered a heinous crimes to the Gods, and it was his duty to ensure there was balance by eliminating the ones who dare spit in the face of the Gods by doing this.

That is what brought him to Genesis Lab. He heard the whispers of Pokemon and the like going missing in a nearby town. There was also a stronger prescence of freakish hybrids of ferals appearing in places they shouldn't. He knew the signs of what this meant and was already off before his master could give him the command. When he stepped into the lab, he wasn't surprised by what he saw. Pokemon and ferals of various ages were being experimented on. Some were lifeless while the majority was still alive. Honestly, that latter was a surprisingly one, given his track record. Regardless, he did what he usually do. He tore about the scientists, destroy whatever plans of projects they had and let go of whatever beings were victims to their experiment. He got his praise. It meant nothing to him as he was already familiar with how this goes. As always, he doesn't stay long as he knows the Union would making their appearance shortly once one of the victims makes it to town.

What he wasn't expecting was a Tyrunt/Houndour hybrid to follow him.

The boy was Elliot. His memories were quite fuzzy. He was originally a Tyrunt..though science infused his blood with a Houndour. When asked about why he was following, Elliot remarks that Ogun resembled Primesect. That...was news to Ogun. He haven't heard that name since his old's body extinction. Considering the nature of the fact this boy was a Tyrunt, Ogun manage to piece together that the boy came from his time and died through some event that wiped out the Pokemon of their time. He would have become a fossil and most likely be brought back to life through this lab. The poor boy probably didn't realize that his parents were long gone. This fact was supposedly proven by the fact that Eli rambled about needing to stick close to Ogun in hopes he can help him find his parents.

Ogun decided to let the lad follow him. He made no comment about whether his parents were alive or not. He made sure the boy avoided meeting the various Gods he met and taught him the basic things needed to survive. Ogun mostly did this as he knew that he wasn't gonna keep the child for long. He wasn't built to raise a son, and his home wouldn't be in the best interest of the lad. As such, he made sure not to get too close to him but made sure he was at least giving all he could to survive. After a year, they would arrive to a Village of Saleah, where Ogun informed Eli that the village would take care of him from now on and he can no longer afford to take him on his missions. Of course, Eli threw a fit at this, but Ogun manage to calm him down by reminding him that he would visit once a week. He also noted that he would take the boy back when he was 8-9 years old and take him as his own if he was still here. To his joy, Eli took this offer and wish Ogun a goodbye as he left.

Eli cherish the moments that Ogun appeared as he reminded him of his father. Unknown to Ogun, Eli was fully aware that his parents had died. His parents would never leave him. He tried to have hope they were alive....but that hope faded over the months. He latched himself to Ogun as he saw him as a father. He was appreciative of the time that Ogun spent with him as he gave him the attention he craved. Don't give him wrong. The village treated him with kindness and partially saw him as family. However, it just....wasn't enough. He counted his days (as best as he could) for when Ogun would adopt him. However, nothing could prepare him for the day that Raiden and Lucius appeared. He was wary of them at first until they started to give him attention. They bothered to listen to his ramblings and even gave him some free food. It was so...strange...but he kinda liked it.

When the two got ready to leave the village, Eli was quick to demand that they adopt him. This wasn't uncommon for Eli to do. Whenever people he liked appeared, he usually give that demand. He usually expected them to say no. To his confusion, Raiden and Lucius said yes. Eli question if this was some kind of trick with Lucius denying that was the case. Eli questioned why they wanted anything to do with him. Raiden would simply reply that they honestly enjoyed Eli's vibes and saw that Eli wanted to see more of the world. Lucius adds that Ogun also asked that they take Eli in since he wanted the boy to have the happiness of having a family. At this information, Eli breaks down and eventually runs over to Lucius and Raiden to cuddle up to his new fathers.

Fighting style

The thing with Eli is that he doesn't have a fighting style as he doesn't have too much experience to hone in a proper style. After all, this is a 4-5 years old we're talking about. As he gets older and trains more with his parents, he starts making great use of his attack. This does mean he has to get up and personal with his strikes. While it does lead him to be more at risk at being hit by attacks, his physical defense is good enough to take heavy blows. As for his special defense....not so much. Lucius has considered working on boosting his defenses as a means to allow him to endure all forms of attack. Unlike Finn, Eli isn't quite as fast as the young Tyrogue. As it stands though, Eli is mostly being taught in the art of getting away from a battle as fast as he can and find ways to be able to contact either Lucius and Raiden. While they may not be focusing on training (as they would like for Eli to have a childhood), they know there is that risk of others attempting to kidnap him or take advantage of how kind the young boy can be at times.

Strengths

  • Can hit like a truck due to ability and moves
  • Can take a decent hit from physical attack
  • Speed can be raised due to his Dragon Dance
  • Comes with a different typing due to his blood

Weaknesses

  • Special attack can hit him considerably hard
  • Can be slow without Dragon Dance
  • Doesn't really think before he strikes
  • Doesn't have fighting skills due to being child
Strong Jaw (Ability)
Natural Ability

Difficulty
Mastery

The Tyrunt line is one that comes with one of two abilities: Strong Jaw and Sturdy. Of those two abilies that Eli has, he has Strong Jaw. With Strong Jaw, the strength of any moves that Eli has that are bite based is increased by 50%. This is a very useful move for Eli due to the fact that the Tyrunt line are known for having...well strong jaws. With these strong jaws comes moves that Eli is able to use that rely solely on his mouth. It helps that Tyrunt's mouth are quite durable and capable of taking various hits. For that reasoning alone, it's no surprise that Eli moveset is mostly that of fang based moves.

Dragon Dance
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Dragon Dance is a status Dragon-type move that that he learned through a technical machine he received as a gift from Lucius. To use this move, Eli's body becomes surrounded in orange energy as he performs a mystic, powerful dance. This is the only status move that Eli has in his arsenal that is very useful for a almost all of his attacks. You see this move raises both his attack and speed. With both of those being raised, this can turn this tiny tyke into a vicious beast if he continuously uses it. Not only does this move aids in his low speed, it also makes his attack more terrifying to the point he could cause serious damage.

Dragon Claw
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Dragon Claw is a damaging physical Dragon-type move that the Tyrunt line can naturally learn. For Eli to use it, a light-green aura forms around each of Eli's hands and they turn into a large claw-like shape. Eli then strikes the opponent with the claws. A intersting thing to note is the fact that Eli can channels this attack through his paws and deliever a sharp kick to the area he strikes. Regardless on how Eli uses it, this is the only damaging dragon move that he knows and is one of his most used move. After all, he does get STAB through it so why would he not take the chance to use it.

Bulldoze
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Bulldoze is a damaging physical Ground-type that Eli learned from watching one of his cartoons. When this move is used, Eli stomps down on the ground and creates a shock wave on the ground. The shock wave then crashes towards the opponent. The strength of the move is able to lower the speed of whoever gets hit by it, allowing Eli to be able to move faster than whatever is attacking. A amusing thing to note is that Finn often uses this move whenever he throws the occasional tantrum and/or get too excited. This results in Raiden panicking as he is very much weak to ground moves.

Fire Fang
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Fire Fang is a damaging physical Fire-type move Eli learned from Ogun. It's no surprised that Eli uses the move as often as he can as he is part fire type. To use this move, Eli's body becomes surrounded in a light-red aura. The inside of his mouth then becomes covered in flames and it bites down on the opponent. What makes this move so useful is the fact it has a chance to burn. There is a advantage of havng a Pokemon that's burned. Not only do they take damage as long as they're in battle, their attack is weakened quite a bit. You never know when a chance burn can save your life.

Ice Fang
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Ice Fang is a damaging physical Ice-type move that Eli learned from Lucius. This is a move that Eli rarely uses at times. To use this, Eli's mouth glows light blue as a white mist seeps out of it. The male then bites down on the opponent, resulting in ice that started to form from his mouth to expands outward around the opponent's body. It should be noted that Ice Fang can results in a Pokemon to be partially (and sometimes fully) frozen. Eli never really uses the move as he never really encountered a moment where he truly needed it and honestly he has a very hard time using is due to his fire typing.

Psychic Fangs
Learned Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Psychic Fangs is a damaging physical Psychic-type move that Eli learned through a technical machine given by someone in town. To use this, Eli's mouth glows a bright pink as energy pools form his fangs. The male then bites down on the opponent and tears into them. What makes this move so useful is the fact that it can tear through Reflect, Aurora Veil and Light Screen when he makes contact with the source of the move. This remove the annoying obstacle of those moves weakening his attacks. Of course, this can be avoided if Psychic Fangs misses or the target is immune to or protected from Psychic Fangs.

Inventory

EXP Share

On the occasion that Raiden and Lucius train Eli, they usually have him wear a EXP. Share. No one truly knows who crafted the gear and made it work the way it does. Lucius tries to explain the nature of it, but it only gives Eli a headache. However, this item is useful as it allows Eli to focus and pick up on how to efficently use his skills while watching his papas train. He doesn't wear it all the time as it give him a bit of a headache after a while.

Naruto [Plushie]

Every hero needs a trusty sidekick. Sadly for Eli, he can't rely on Finn at the moment as he's too much of a weenie (in his eyes). As such, Eli has to rely on the next best thing: Naruto. Named after his favorite anime, Naruto is a plushie that Eli received from Lucius when they visited Lucius home. No longer having used for it, Lucius thought that Eli would appreciate it. To his joy, he did and carries it around everywhere.

Trivia

General

  • If you must know, yes. I did base his personalty off of Naruto.
  • Eli wasn't a difficult profile to work on in terms of backstory and personality.
  • The only hard part about Eli's profile was working out his backstory as I didn't want to be too similar to Finn.

Combat

  • Due to his bloodline, Eli's typing is that of a Dragon/Fire.
  • Working out his fighting style was surprisingly easy.
  • I originally planned on him being a regular Tyrunt but decided against that to explore hybrids.

Social

  • When it comes to his dynamic with Finn, I based it off a less dramatic version of Sasuke and Naruto.
  • I wrote Eli the way I did as a means to write more hyper children characters.
  • Yes, Eli is gonna develop a habit of sticking his nose in places he shouldn't.

Design

  • Eli was originally planned to be much larger than Finn.
  • I never realized that Eli has paws until recently when I made his ref sheet. Don't ask me how I missed that.
  • Most people draw his ruff of feathers as being more like fur, which is honestly perfectly fine.

Upon first meeting Lucius, Eli felt himself become immediately attached to the demigod. It's mostly due to the fact he reminded him of Ogna. Amusing when you consider the fact that Ogna and Lucius are manmade Pokemon...so perhaps that's another reason why he attached himself to him. Eli admires how cool and efficent that Lucius acts during and outside of battles. He always tries to act like him as he sees it as a way to grow stronger. He often enjoys listening to his father read whatever he has to him as his voice can be very soothing to listen to. In fact, he has fallen asleep to it all the time.

While Raiden may be Eli's adopted father, Eli personally sees him as being more like a brother in some ways. The Jolteon is a lot more loose when it comes to how he raise him and tends to act as much as a kid as the Tyrunt. However, this doesn't change the fact that Eli loves Raiden and tries his best to show his appreciation of him by often biting his paw whenever Raiden moves to pet him. Eli enjoys watching Raiden run around and occasionally tries to catch up with him with Dragon Dance. In fact, the two of them actually make a game out of Eli attempting to catch up with Raiden and tackle him.

The idea of having a pet isn't something that Eli considered as a option. He was both unaware of that being the thing, and he never had a chance to truly have one. As such, when he met Ryujin and came to understand his relationship with him, he was excited. Honestly, Eli treats Ryujin less like a pet and more so a regular Pokemon. It often leads to him occasionally dealing with Ryujin's feral tendencies popping up when he pushes his buttons too much. Honestly, Ryujin acts as a babysitter to Eli and often keeps a eye on the young boy whenever his owners are taking care of stuff. Thankfully, he's strong and smart enough to handle a boy like him.

Since Lewis always shower him with attention, Eli feels obligated to care about this silly buff rabbit. Whenever he feels Lewis, he always like to run over and listen to whatever stories he has on his mind. His stories are almost as good as Lucius. Almost being the key word here. He is the one that sparked the idea of Eli potentially being a Union member whneever he gets older. In fact, he even told him that he could be one of the best ones if he listen to his parents and train whenever it was time for him to train. With how cool Lewis is and his skills on his mission, how could this little dino not listen to him?

Ronin is just like Lucius in some ways. He's calm, collected and honestly a cool frog. He carries a strong level of respect for him. He just wishes that he was't so mean to his papa. He doesn't understand what his papa did to deserve his rude words. He does know that if he sticks close to Lucius, Ronin use less of those mean words. As such, he tries to do that. Besides that, Ronin favorite thing to do with Ronin is listen to him talk about the ways of getting stronger and his lessons. While it does take him time to register what those lesson means, he cherish them with all his heart. Much like his papa, his favorite way of showing affection to Ronin is by biting him.

For a feral, it's amazing how similar Jasper is to Eli. They both crave attention as they lack a specific amount of it for their life. They went through their stuggles that made them wary on some people. They are very bitey towards those they love. The two might as well be brothers at this point. Jasper is always encouraging Eli to do the most destructive and chaotic thing on his mind. It's not because he purposely wants to get on the nerves of his owners and Eli's parents. He just thinks it's funny and Eli can be a little destructive in nature. Whenever the two of them are together, they occasionally go out and play some pranks. Sometimes, Raiden likes to join them.

While the two of them are friends, Eli does see Finn as being his rival. While they shared the common theme of losing their respective biological parent, Eli can't help but look at Finn and call the boy a weenie with his lack of confidence in battle. This often lead to him constantly pushing for Finn to get stronger by teashing. Despite how meek Finn is, Eli knows the reason behind this is due to his trauma. It's to the point he takes great offense to anyone who dares to insult him and refer to him as being foolish/stupid. When the two of them are together, they are often occasionally wrestling each other on the ground.

Haruto is a bit of a weirdo in Eli's eyes. However, he doesn't have any hard feelings for the guy espesically when he's willing to battle him whenever they see each other. The only annoying apart is that despite the type advantage that Eli has, he always finds himself losing against Haruto often. He likes to think he's cheating and has made its his life mission to overcome him. Other than that, he sees Haruto as being a friend. While the two of them aren't besties, their relationship is decent enough that they can call each other buddies. Their favorite thing to do together (outside of fighting) is roleplaying as a heroic team.
