After growing up in a fight ring Rudy is separated from his brother and captured by the MRCF, a mutant control group that cuts off his wings. He later develops a secondary mutation that allows him to amplify his kinetic energy, and using this he escapes the facility and eventually finds himself as a member of the X-Men.

He has a mutation that essentially increases his kinetic energy. This means that all his actions— running, jumping, punching, ect— are stronger and have more force behind them. When he draws in energy, it can act similarly to Rogue’s abilities by draining the energy of those around him and hurting them. This is something that he cannot turn off; it happens automatically no matter what action he is performing.
