ℹ️ Basic Info

  • Ella is a prolific former actress, adventurer and philanthropist in the Tooniverse.
  • She was the founder of the “Ella Pawman Squad” - an organization dedicated to helping everyone worldwide with their silly cartoon problems. Ella was a respected matriarch and handled the most important decisions.
  • Ella was forced to resign in disgrace after her co-worker Dr. Hans Sans Panzer caused the catastrophic “Sillycon Valley Incident”.
  • Ella forcibly left her great-granddaughter Jaycee Pawman in charge of her organization, now re-named the “Jaycee Pawman Squad”.
  • Ella made many friends and enemies throughout her very long life. Ella’s great-granddaughter Jaycee Pawman is now in danger from nefarious individuals from Ella’s past.
  • Ella is over 100 years old, and is living a quiet life of retirement. However, she is losing her memory and mobility.

🎭 Personality

Ella is levelheaded, wise and maternal. Before her memory loss set in, she was viewed as a mentor figure to others.

In her early years, she was a sociable, crowd-pleasing jokester and an adventurous risk-taker. She has since mellowed out after retiring.

Although Ella was wealthy for most of her life, she felt guilty spending money on herself. Most of her riches went to the Ella Pawman Squad, or were donated to charities.

Due to decades worth of anger, Ella adamantly refuses to talk about Hugh Forric, Dr. Hans Sans Panzer and the “Sillycon Valley Incident”.

🧬 Biology

As a Tooniverse denizen, Ella has the typical biology and abilities of a cartoon character. Ella can pull objects out from behind her back… but only when it’s funny!

Ella has both human-like and cat-like characteristics and mannerisms. For example, she has good night vision and purrs like a cat, but bathes herself like a human.

Ella does not have depth perception since she only has one eye. However, years of stunt acting and dangerous agent work have somewhat mitigated this weakness.

Ella’s very old age has slowly made her sluggish, stiff and uncoordinated. Ella now relies more on friends and caretaker services in her daily life. She walks with a cane and wears dentures after losing all her teeth.

She has the very rare ability of "Fourthsight",  a Tooniverse ability that allows her to address the audience outside of  the 4th wall (that's us!). Any Toon without Fourthsight cannot see this audience, and they believe those with Fourthsight are hallucinating or  mentally ill.

🔍 History

Ella grew up in the countryside on a dirt-poor vegetable farm. Ella and her family would sell produce every Sunday in the city of Canvasville. Ella attracted buyers by juggling and performing little stunts and scenes with the vegetables.

One day, Ella caught the attention of a silent film director named Charleston Waltz. Ella left her family’s farm and started her acting and performing career in Canvasville.

Ella was part of the famous “Twilight Theatre Troupe” consisting of Charleston Waltz, Hugh Forric, Ijinks H. Iwerx, herself and Flicky D.  Firefly. They starred in Charleston Waltz’s films, and performed live vaudeville shows in Canvasville’s Twilight Theatre. Ella was the most talented and versatile of the group. She met her future husband Clive Peck while he auditioned for a small role as a banjo player.

After the group disbanded, Ella, Clive and Charleston Waltz continued to make films together. Ella’s daughter Margaret is born in Canvasville, but grows up in a nomadic lifestyle as Ella traveled to work on film after film in different locations. The group traveled the world, learning about different societies, languages and art. These travels inspired Ella’s passion to help others, planting the seeds of what will become the “Ella Pawman Squad”.

Ella retired from her acting career and moved to Canvasville. However, Ella was bored with her retirement, and made plans with Charleston to move to Sillycon Valley, USA - the technology capital of the world. Ella and her husband Clive divorced after they couldn’t agree on retirement.

Using her riches, Ella started the “Ella Pawman Squad”. The EPS served as a justice, investigations and  rescue organization that any toon in the world (no matter the location,  culture or artstyle) can count on to solve their problems. Charleston’s son Madison Waltz was inducted as an EPS agent shortly before Charleston’s death.

Ella Pawman, Madison Waltz, and brilliant scientist Dr. Hans Sans Panzer become an all-star team of agents. Unfortunately, Hans was TOO brilliant and caused the eventual downfall of the Ella Pawman Squad with the “Sillycon Valley Incident”. A media firestorm forced Ella to cease nearly all operations and she retreats from public life.

Ella raised her great-granddaughter Jaycee Pawman in quiet isolation. On Jaycee’s 18th birthday, Ella signs over her nearly-bankrupt organization to Jaycee (now called the “Jaycee Pawman Squad”) using legal contract shenanigans.
