Appearance

A death, or possibly near death, experience left Albright unsure if he's even still alive. He hardly sleeps. He hardly eats. His sense of pain has been dulled to the point where he doesn't notice minor injuries and barely reacts to major ones. Albright never feels or looks great, but his threadbare clothes cover most of the physical damage he accumulates. Albright forgets to take care of himself and constantly looks disheveled with messy black hair, wrinkled clothes, and a few days worth of stubble upon his face. The only thing he keeps up is keeping his left arm and hand bandaged. .

He wears a glove over his bandaged hand unless impractical or sleeping, and cradles his arm against his chest as if it was injured when not using it. The skin of his left forearm and hand has been peeled away to expose a very nearly perfect replica of the raw flesh and bone that composes a human arm. Close inspection shows that the muscles attach closer to the way a slime mold clings to a surface, lumpy strands and branching tendrils grip creamy, white stone that has been carved into the shape of bones. It bleeds a fine silt.

He has a gap between his front teeth that few ever see. Albright barely smiles, and generally keeps a neutral resting expression. There are also a handful of noticeable circular scars on his face due to a childhood illness.

Personality

Albright is notably a different person than before he died. Originally a loud, talk first, think later type of man, not a bad guy, but certainly could be tone-deaf to situations. Now he seems like a shell of his former self. Distant, detached, under reactive, Albright talks very little and rarely explains things unless asked.

Albright tries to live solely in the moment. He hates introspection. There's a lot of things about himself and his life that make him very uncomfortable when he thinks about them, and rather forget his past entirely. He is unsure if he really is alive or not, and partially fears that he's still lying there dying, and this is all a dream. Albright additionally has the fear that if he thinks too hard about himself that he'll 'wake up' and find himself still lying at the bottom of a ravine, dying.

He struggles with depersonalization/derealization. This is a lifelong issue that used to come and go, but now has become a constant. Albright feels like he's not attached to his body and it is instead someone else in control of him; his life happens, but he's just a witness.

Relationships

Barrel Cade

Partner/Friend

The two met during a job, and opted to stick together after it ended due to bonding over their odd experiences surrounding death. Albright has never really analyzed their relationship much past the surface. He likes the man and trusts him more than anyone else. They've agreed to split costs and pool their money so they can buy land together. Cade made a deal with a witch to help him, and a pact with a devil to save him. They've willing and repeatedly choose to bind themselves together in a lifelong partnership. At least that is how Albright has come to view it. A lifelong partnership. But maybe he's thinking too much about it. The whole thing makes him feel...a little uncomfortable when he focuses on it.
