Loyal, slow to warm up to others, laid back

Friendly enough, but prefers to keep people at arms length. He likes people, it's just getting close to others makes it easier for someone to accidentally find out aspects of himself he rather keep private.

Was a jokester, class clown type of guy who had a habit of getting into trouble when he was younger. He still has a bit of a rap because of it. Far more serious of a person now, but his boyfriend still brings that side out of him.

🌕Backstory🌕

Lived his entire life in X.

Helped his grandparents run a second hand store when he was younger and inherited it upon their death in his late 20s.

Most people don't mean to become a werewolf, but Malcolm isn't even 100% sure how he did. Believes it happened due to a bar fight he got into when he was in his early 30s. And if that is really what caused it, he's rather pissed that busting your knuckles on someone's teeth counts as a bite. He didn't even want to fight the man in the first place.

Very vaguely in contact with his family. He'll show up for holidays and that's about it. His parents are aware of his sexuality and him being a werewolf and have decided to keep the whole topic mum, but build a level of separation between Malcom and the rest of the family.

Met Emil in his late 30's. Malcolm heard through the grapevine that Emil didn't mind treating werewolves so he started visiting him as a patient. The two became fast friends, and after a few years Malcolm asked the other man out. The two have been inseparable since.

🌫️Relationships🌫️

Emil Meister - Best Friend/Coworker/Lover - His brilliant and wonderful doctor, the love of his life. If Malcolm is able, he'll gush about how much he loves Emil. Even if he can sometimes get frustrated with Emil insisting he doesn't need to note something down, Malcolm wouldn't ever dream of being with someone else. He feels like Emil is the only person in the world who is on the same wavelength as him. Malcom adores their conversations and just how sweet and genuinely caring Emil is as a person. Malcom refers to Emil as "Doc" in public, and "baby doll" in private.

X - Father - They used to be close, but their relationship is now distant and tense. His father caught him with another boy as a teen, and their relationship never recovered. They talk a bit. But it's all small pleasantries. Malcolm thinks there was a chance for their relationship to be repaired, but becoming a werewolf sunk it.

X - Mother - He gets on with her better than his father, but it's not much better. She at least sends him cards inviting him to family holidays and kinda tries to make him feel welcome. It really bothers him that his mother being nice to him might only be because she's afraid of him due to him being a werewolf.

Ready Ephraim Quinn - Friend - Malcolm originally didn't like him all that much, but warmed up to him due to how well Ready and Emil get along. Almost hates to admit it, but he thinks Ready's deadpan humor is funny as hell. Malcolm admires Ready's dedication to his family and his community.

Isaac Morgan - Acquaintance -  While he doesn't like being around Isaac due to the creature that's following him, Malcom figures that Isaac is an alright enough person. Emil at least likes him.

Often calls people 'baby' partially because he finds people's reactions funny. It started as a joke, but now it's a habit. Oops.

Malcolm has a rather firm handle on being a werewolf, and really only shapeshifts when he doesn't have a choice.
