Jack 'Arthur' Farley

Being a detective for the Bureau of Unusual Incidents is a physically demanding job that keeps Arthur in relatively good shape; Arthur has a stocky, muscular build that isn't readily apparent due to a bit of extra weight. Partially due to his job, Arthur is heavily scarred. The noticeable ones for when he is clothed are the four small claw marks under right eye, and a myriad of ones on his hands. His face is covered with pockmarks due to a combo of acne as a teen, childhood illness, and his habit of scratching at his face when anxious. Like many military men in Isador, Arthur has a tattoo. His is of a tailless wolf in front of a sun that is on his right pec.

His light ruddy brown hair is starting to go white, it is shaved on the sides and left long on top with a center part. An older, traditional hairstyle that matches his mustache and goatee, neither are IN, but they never truly fell out of fashion. His green gold eyes are close enough to yellow that they, combined with his hair colour, gets him guessed as being a werewolf by others.

Arthur is considered unusual for a werewolf since his wolf form is fully furred. While classed as a dog-like werewolf, he looks more like a strange, tailless bear with a too long face than a wolf. His ears have a notched appearance to them due to frostbite damage, this is especially apparent when he's in his wolf form. While it doesn't matter if he does due to what he shape shifts into, Arthur still rolls the cuffs of his pants as is common among werewolves.

Calm, quiet, and patient, it's hard to get a strong reaction out of Arthur even with poignant insults or heavy praise. Outside of brief mentions of his children and wife, Arthur rarely opens up or talks about personal life even with people he has known for years as he feels like there really isn't much worth knowing about him past that. He has a strong sense of empathy and tries to help others whenever he is able. However, he will do it as subtly as possible. To him, the most meaningful gestures tend to be small ones.

Arthur is almost a completely different man when he's with his wife and children. He becomes talkative and boisterous, a far more extroverted person than he is otherwise, his sweet nature is still there, however. His family is his everything. Arthur knows his job is dangerous and wants to make the most of the time he has with his family and have them know exactly how much he loves them. Arthur spent much of his early life knowing that no one loved him and wants to make sure his children never experience that.

• Goes exclusively by his middle name. He started going by Arthur as when he began working for the Bureau, one of his coworkers was also named Jack. Since the other Jack was there first, Arthur was made to use his middle name instead.
