Physical Appearance

• Long black hair usually worn in a high ponytail that trails past her waist

Clothing Style

Tara tends to dress in light/vibrant colors, although she's not particularly picky about the specific color as long as it's exciting looking. She greatly prefers clothing for warmer weather, and her favorite outfits tend to include tank tops, skirts or shorts, and sandals or flip flops. She prefers to have her legs and arms free, so she doesn't like cold weather that much. She is also fond of crop tops, so for cooler weather she tends to compromise with cute/pastel-y sweaters and kapriis with long socks and running shoes/high tops.

Personality

Tara is an energetic and excitable young woman who can also be a touch overdramatic. She tends to be loud and enthusiastic about whatever she does, and she can easily get on others' nerves if they can't put up with her energy. She can be rather clumsy at times, and she's easy to get worked up, but she means well. Tara tends to focus on doing the things she likes and can be rather lazy with anything that she doesn't, so at times she can seem a little oblivious or dense with some topics but knowledgable and passionate about others. She has a bright and optimistic demeanor, and she tries to have fun with whatever she does. However, she can take offenses a bit too personally and often crumbles under pressure, so she comes off as rather immature in the real world. She also tends to be rather idealistic and assumes most people will naturally do the right thing, which makes her naive and overly trusting at times. Tara tends to surround herself in a bubble of positivity and makes her environment a happy place, so she gets shaken easily when things go horribly wrong. She gets really hung up on crushes and her romantic relationships too, and she can turn into a whiny baby when things go sour.

Despite this, Tara has a good nature and can deal with hardship better when around people she deeply cares about, particularly her family and closest friends. She tends to be more determined and throws her all into it if terrible things are happening to someone she cares about and she can actually do something to help. Even when she can't really do much, she'll still do whatever she can to support them and can be very resourceful in figuring out solutions. She is difficult to discourage once she sets a goal for herself, and she can be very quick witted and inventive when under this kind of pressure. When pressured alone, she has trouble, but when she has someone working with her or she's working to help someone else, she tends to forget the pressure is even on her.

Oh, and she sucks at driving. She never seems to get bothered when she runs into things. Driving is just really exciting and fun for her, but she'll probably never earn her license until she gets a grip.

Backstory

Tara grew up with her parents and older sister, Tami, and her childhood was relatively normal and happy. However, one day the two sisters were invited to attend a private school for their potential for rifting. Their acceptance and move to this new community created a strain in their parents' relationship, primarily because their father wasn't onboard with the notion that his daughters apparently had some supernatural abilities they hadn't yet discovered. Although their mother was fully supportive and believed them with all her heart, their father considered the school to be either a sham or full of freaks. They eventually divorced, and he never made any attempt to communicate with them more than necessary.

Although Tami became rather cynical and moody during and following the divorce, Tara didn't seem dramatically affected by it and remained her cheery self, maybe even getting more optimistic since she was no longer around her father who thought they were freaks. However, a few years later they noticed their mother was starting a new relationship with a man named Liam, who was a single father of one son named Terry. At first the sisters were reluctant to accept the fact their mother was considering remarrying, and although they merely shunned Liam, they tended to pick on Terry since they didn't want anyone new to enter their family, especially after they realized he was also enrolled at their private school. Tara however started to warm up to Terry after some time, and eventually she convinced her older sister to finally give them a chance. After some time they grew to accept their mother's love for this new man and his son, and they gradually came to love them too and eventually joined as one family.

Since then, the three have gone about their lives, making their way through school despite still not discovering their potential rifting capabilities. This changes when they pick up an injured dog from the streets and a sinister force soon follows.
