Having been born and raised in a "rough" neighborhood where getting robbed or mugged was a very common occurrence Jaime grew up believing he needed to put on a tough guy front and learn how to defend himself if he was ever going to make it in this world. In his early teens he and his mother moved in with her sister's family in Newark, after their old apartment complex caught fire and practically burned to the ground. (Which was just as well, they hated it there anyway!)

He watched the drama between his cousin and his uncle unfold and feared for Buster's safety at the thought of a little shrimp like him actually joining a hockey team. He said nothing though (as he is a guest in their home and it isn't his place to say so!) and instead chose to join the team along with him in order to keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't get hurt. Unlike Buster he isn't so graceful on the ice (he CAN skate, sort of, he just isn't very good at stopping XD) but lucky for him the Bears were SO desperate for anyone to pllleaase join their team that they would just take what they could get.   

Jaime is the strong, silent type, who acts like some sort of valiant knight, taking it upon himself to defend those who are too weak/helpless to defend themselves. He really, truly hates bullies with a passion and can, will, and has beaten them to a bloody pulp if no one pulls him back.

When he's not kicking bully asses he is all about acting like he's too cool for school and has a pretty apathetic attitude towards everyone and everything. He can usually be seen hanging with a group of equally "cool" greaser buddies, having a few laughs, smoking cigarettes, and talking about cars.
