Personality
Eddie is a warm person, full of energy and life. Whenever he walks into the room, he immediately fills it with his warm smiles and larger-than-life personality. He’s a very joyful kind of person, and wants to spread that to everyone. Every inch of his body is simply filled with the kind of love for everyone that can’t be held back.
The best part of Eddie is his protective nature. He’s an absolute mama bear, and will defend his loved ones with all his might. It helps that he’s physically intimidating - 6”9’ of pure muscle is nothing to sneeze at. Of course, he’s less likely to resort to violence and is more likely to use cutting words, but he’s still perfectly capable of physical protection if need be.
Despite all this love, however, Eddie is still a government worker. He’s incredibly familiar with the ins and outs of bureaucracy, which although helpful also means that if it’s not urgent he tends to function similarly. It’s a bad habit of his. At least he’s good at paperwork?
Eddie also likes to travel a lot. Although his job takes him away from his family longer than he’d like, Eddie has to admit he loves not being stuck in an office all day. That’s why he’s very glad he has this specific job - he gets to leave the stifled mess that is the City and explore the Outlands. He even gets to spend time with the people there, the best part of all.
Eddie is a little bit vain. He loves to spend time on his appearance. Good grooming is incredibly important in his eyes. Sure, he’s not super judgy about strangers not being well put together. If you’re related to him though, you’d better be looking your best. Otherwise you’ll get the “very disappointed mom” face and that’s worse than if he gets mad at you.
Design Notes
- Eddie has an equine feral form. It’s roughly the same build as a clydesdale.
- From his gemstone, Eddie can summon a horn which allows him to perform magic (specifics in ref).
- Eddie is extremely buff because he works out a lot.
- Eddie has a heart-shaped gem, which makes him an uncommon auracorn.
- Eddie likes to wear the color blue, and only wears masculine clothes.
Trivia
- Eddie has a really complicated relationship with gender. He is very much a woman, however gender is really painful so he defaults to he/him pronouns and the masculine name Eddie. Only his wife can call him Hecate.
- Eddie is the nickname he chose for himself and is not his deadname. That one can stay dead.
- Eddie doesn’t spend a lot of time at home because he spends a lot of time in the Outlands.
- Eddie is probably the founder of his entire family’s love of cats - he owns a lot of them. Big ones, small ones, fat ones, skinny ones, fluffy ones, spiky ones, all of the cats.
- Eddie likes to collect really cute plushies. He has a special collection of custom plushies that are plush versions of all his previous cats.
History
Eddie’s family wasn’t a particularly powerful family when he was young. They were just trying to get by without causing any trouble. It worked, honestly. Of course, Eddie’s family was also incredibly invested in politics. His dad would spend ages talking about the political climate, his mom would dissect laws for fun, and his older sister was super fascinated by debates.
Eddie absorbed all this with utter fascination. It should come as no surprise that he decided to pursue a career in government. Specifically, he wanted to find something he could do that would help people. It took him a little while (and a lot of campaigning) until he got his first government job - board member for one of the City’s subdivisions.
Eddie was popular among the people. They elected him further and further up over the years. And he loved it. He was one of those politicians who made promises and kept them, which endeared him to the eyes of the people.
Rosalind came into his life pretty early on. They met at a fancy party for some government affair (Eddie can’t remember what), and she spent the entire time flirting with him. Somehow, she managed to win her way into his heart. It was a whirlwind romance and they got married very quickly. Their twins were born soon after, and Eddie adored them with all his heart. He was a very good mom indeed.
Eddie was elected Ambassador to the Outlands about 10 years ago by popular demand. He’s on his second run already, and there are rumors that he might be given the “for life” position. He’s… not sure what he thinks about that, honestly. It’s kind of weird. He does want to retire one day, but he’s not sure when.

Rosalind is the best thing that happened to Eddie, hands down. She’s smart, wonderful, clever, pretty, all those many amazing things. Honestly, she’s his ideal woman! Eddie dotes on her day in and day out. While she’s not terribly romantic, he’s fine with that. He’s romantic enough for the both of them.
Eddie wishes that Taz hadn’t cut him off. He actually really likes his daughter, and feels awful that she thinks he doesn’t care about her. He does! He’s just been super busy with the whole government thing and Rosalind took over Taz’s care. Eddie wants to reach out to his daughter, but also wants to respect her boundaries. Maybe one day.
Marilyn and Eddie are really close. Marilyn always wanted to go on trips with him, and with Cynthia’s approval she came along. Even now, they still make time to hang out with each other. Marilyn gets a chance to destress and Eddie gets to spend time with one of his girls. Interestingly, Marilyn reminds him of Rosalind. He’s not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.
Delilah’s such a wonderful granddaughter. She’s so sweet, so smart, and so damn vindictive. She makes Eddie so proud. In turn, Delilah will always have time for “Gramma Eddie” and his visits. They bring each other sweets, it’s so cute. Eddie can and will spoil his granddaughter like nobody’s business.
Eddie worries about Kiran. He’s met Rosalind’s parent and knows just how damaging guardianship can be - especially if you’re not expecting it. Kiran seems to like him more than their mother, which is nice. Eddie will be damned if he lets any of his family out of his sight. Plus, Kiran deserves guidance from someone more in tune with these sorts of things.
Cynthia is both terrifying and (although Eddie hates to admit it) really attractive. She’s got this aura around her of cool authority that Eddie really envies. If it had been decades ago and Eddie had more than a snowball’s chance in hell, he would have absolutely gone after her romantically. Now though, Eddie’s content just to work with her professionally.
