"Fable explained that he cannot help the way he speaks, and hopes for the customer's understanding."
What are objectoids?
Fable runs a petshop in San Francisco. His past has turned him into a recluse with a fear of blades, shut out from society. As a side effect of his ability, Fable speaks in the third-person like a storybook narrator, which has caused him to be singled out and bullied all his life. It has also caused him to be very bad at telling lies and keeping thoughts to himself when he was younger. His ability has drawn the attention of authorities. The Objectoid Crime Division often comes around in an attempt to recruit Fable, but he has always refused. Fable has always found solace in animalsand he's very good at determining the perfect pet for each customer. He sells all sorts of animals, as well as some exotic pets. Fable cares for his younger siblings very much. He worries about Quill overworking himself, and urges his little brother to visit their mom whenever he visits. Fable is soft-spoken and nervous around strangers, but he knows how to be intimidating when he needs to be.

Fable's ability allows him to mark people as "characters" by touching them with his hands. Doing so will allow him to narrate whatever is going on around them as if reading their story, even when they are far away from him. He can mark as many "characters" as he wants, and the effect will last 24 hours, but he can also mark one person as the "main character" and be able to keep tabs on them for as long as he wants. This text can be seen all over his body from the neck down, constantly changing and updating. His skin is sheet white, and feels like paper. Although it doesn't fall apart when he gets wet, it does get soggy and heavy. In order to keep his main character's privacy, and also to avoid unwanted attention, Fable usually wears concealing clothing. Quill has been Fable's main character ever since their father died at war.
Due to his appearance, Fable has been the target of bullies throughout all of his school years. After and incident in middle school left him physically scarred, Fable became reclusive, and dropped out of high school soon after enrolling. He shut himself away until he was old enough to move out, and was so withdrawn in his room, that his younger siblings' friends had no idea they had an older brother, even when they slept over at their house. After turning 17, Fable got a job at a small exotic pet shop, drawn to the job because of his love of animals. The owner was a kind old man without family, and so he left the shop to Fable in his will.
Fable is often harassed by DOS or OCD agents in an attempt to recruit him, but Fable remains adamant on not working for the government. Atlas often drops by to deliver food and supplies, because he knows Fable doesn't like going to stores.
