crimson's teacher from back when he was in the pact, is very angry that crimson told him to take his pact and shove it
current-day, is pass-agg about getting back at him bc crimson, while outside the pact, isn't actually causing problems and is keeping to himself so he cannot actually convince anyone, even himself, that a blind man obsessed with raising children is actually a problem (especially since reports of him actively stealing kids dropped like a rock once people realized they could just give him undesired children). he's just mad that he's out there, but not fighting Those Fuckers. zealous enough about the whole war against deebs thing that he's willing to manipulate and hassle those uninterested in joining the pact until they break down and do so. he is heavily disliked by his peers due to this and has been punished for it in the past.
cautious to a fault; he doesn't like making any kind of risky move until he's certain that, at the very least, if it fails it fails with minimal blowback. this isn't entirely just his innate personality; he's lost a lot of people that he at least felt some fondness for to bad, suicidal, or poorly informed planning and has taken their mistakes to heart.
a terrible teacher. he gets frustrated easily and tends to take it out on whatever is frustrating him at the time, and he has a hard time articulating his thoughts on things in a way those less experienced in a topic can understand. while he is aware of these failings, especially after being barred from taking on any further students for the next several decades because he lost the Pact two members with his bullshit, he has made no effort to actually fix them.
the time he doesn't spend running a guerilla war he spends making exquisitely detailed artifacts, both weapons and not. he doesn't keep most of them for himself--he considers his body to be a far more effective weapon, and more importantly one he can't be caught without--instead gifting them to followers who have proven themselves or who require aid in some manner.
prefers his ghost crab (O. quadrata, specifically) and hybrid shapes. crab shape is, by default, quite small; he can make himself MUCH larger, but he's a very portable/sneaky creb (which upsets him, he wants to be LOUD). his human shape is an unassuming overweight middle-aged man with light tan skin and subtly bluish carapace-like markings on his limbs (his Tell, of course; in his crab shape this appears as faint blue marks along the shelled parts of his legs). this shape is not his birth shape; he is a trans man.
He was around for the Usurpation and will die mad about it, though not necessarily for the reasons you'd expect.
