Why can't humans be repaired?

Cyan, as she calls herself casually, is an easy case study for "why Abyssals are Awful"; she practiced necromancy even during life, chasing a way to revive a dear friend who drowned when a ship Cyan built and designed herself, based on fragments of first age design, sank in a storm, and had no reservations about diving deep into the darkest possible arts to do it. Which, y'know, is why a mob stabbed her about a dozen times, destroyed her lab, and left her to bleed out in the burning wreckage--she was never much of a fighter and their sheer numbers overwhelmed her defenses. She was given a chance for vengeance as a Daybreak, though the wounds still bleed when she gets worked up, and they never close. She blames the gods more than the village--after all, if they hadn't sunk the ship, she wouldn't have been in the lab in the first place!

She is a potent necromancer with a focus on making... things. Her favorite abomination against Gaia is a massive warstrider made out of stitched-together mounds of flesh she calls "my baby". Baby is... vaguely sentient, barely, without a pilot, and will usually blindly repeat the last command given to it unless ordered to stop. It doesn't feel pain, in the sense that damage to its body will cause it distress (it lacks the cognitive capacity for it), but it does have programming to make it avoid excessive damage when possible. She will still get very angry at whoever harms her baby, though. That's her terrible rotting meatbot.

Physically, Cyan is a tall (over eight feet tall), broad woman with heavily callused hands, in the manner of someone who does a lot of woodwork. She's prematurely greyed, with shoulder-length, messily chopped hair that she keeps pulled back in a ponytail. She primarily wears protective lab gear, since she spends almost all of her time making terrible flesh abominations with necromancy, including a pair of goggles that she uses as a makeshift headband when they aren't actively in use.
