Strawberry fox! How couldn't she say yes to adopting this little sweetie?
A /much/ better keyholder than that... /ruffian/. Appreciates that Johanna leads a much more peaceful lifestyle, and adores all the plant life after so long bound to a dusty old box and then a near-ever sailing ship...
Her best friend's a death god- is that weird? Sure. But it's also kind of neat, and she finds the various distinctions between deities absolutely fascinating. Plus, he's ancient- he can tell some amazing stories.
If anyone is going to share his territory, he's very glad it's someone who's able to view him neutrally, instead of being absolutely terrified or... weirdly... worshipful and expecting favors he can't fulfill.
frend :D
Found his key in a box of trashy pulp noir novels and now she's kinda Stuck, but he's cool
Fiercely loyal, considers himself her top dog- no matter how many others may come, he knows he’s got a special place in her heart.
She cares for all the animals around the ranch of course, but Videl is her special boy- he's the first dog she found, even before finding Mistyoak, and she credits his influence for helping her find something resembling a settled life.
You know when you have this great eloquent speech in your brain and your actual mouth words are at best a keysmash? That. That's Tera's feelings.
What does one do, when they encounter someone they thought long gone? Payne doesn't have much to say on the subject, surprisingly- but he's very curious about where this rekindling may go.
"For the god of straight up murder you're refreshingly cool. Like, you just sit there with jenga blocks and crap, the hell, how you do it?"
"We are not beholden to our domains. ... Or at least, some of us are not."
"Look man there's something fundamentally broken about the universe if gods start existing but don't have to perpetuate their Thing and instead sit and eat doritos all day."
"You... have certainly found other ways to occupy yourself, haven't you?"
"Yeah, Granny's alright but maan's she strict! Mane trimmed, horns and hooves polished, Byte nice and quiet and no sunglasses- hh-ah, ah but s'like, s'not bad. She kept me safe and helped Nova'n em out when they needed it y'know?"
"My grandson. Truth be told, I think he took up the look to spite me, hmph! I suppose I can't be too mad though- and I suppose it's a mark of his individuality, which I certainly did encourage in the boy."
He's good for snacks & has a comfy couch, what's not to love?
Does enjoy having another deity around who's not like... a /complete/ downer or anything, and she does try to make sure he doesn't go and get too stuck in his own head.
Granted, that's usually by dragging him along on some blatantly illegal adventure, but what are laws to gods of party and revenge?
Originally irritation, eventually annoyance, now settled into a pleasant grudging acceptance. Helps that Billie can actually cook a little bit, and her comings and goings at least encourage him to keep track of time a little bit better. Does genuinely appreciate her presence when he thinks too hard about being a god no one needs any more.
