Yep, a COVID-19 vent thread

I’m genuinely curious as to how many states and countries have closed stuff down.

I’m in Melbourne, Australia. A few Universities and schools are closed, but nothing super huge. My university is still open and my brother’s high school also is, but my sisters University closed today so it’s eh. 

Well, California has shut down-all of the colleges and schools have closed until april 13th, so it includes our spring break over here. 

All of the toilet paper, water, bleach, and other various items have been bought out, and at the grocery store yesterday, I saw people filling up their carts and then just leaving them to the side and leaving the store. XD

We've got 68 (I believe now? I could be wrong) cases in our county, so everybody is freaking out and is either running away to the beach or mountains, where they think it's magically gonna not get them lmfao

All in all, it's a silly clusterfuck over here.

PotatoesPotatoes It’s a vent thread, it specifically states it’s not an informational thread lol it’s just for venting and something to chat with each other since all over the world is handling it differently — also I learned about a Pokémon Go thing which is cool.

But I do almost everything listed as a lot of my family are either doctors, surgeons or dentists, I’m used to the whole flu season care — the face touching though, shits hard to remember lmao. 

Azrael I honestly expected California to be a lot bigger since to me who lives in Asia, California always seemed like a super populated state where everyone is always at the beach and stuff but stereotypes I guess lol

I work at a bank, dealing directly with money and face to face with people all day. I'm in trouble for missing work today (I've been sick since Thursday Worked through it up until today! Went in to the clinic and they did a flu test, I got Influenza A) because "it's a strain on the team to be missing people." I think it'll be a bigger strain when half the company is sick with something or other, whether it's flu or covid, because sick people aren't allowed to stay home more than 3 times in 6 months. I wish we could just shut down for a while.

acnh God big agree on the racism stuff. I’m also Asian. And while Australia isn’t the worst, it’s still not exactly great like, I can’t even clear my throat without having everyone turn to stare at me. 

I inhaled saliva, pls guys, stop lookin at me like I’m patient 0. 

I always ride a few of my American friends asses for forgetting there’s a world outside the US.

Only after just a few replies do I realise how shitty things are in the US since y’all got different state laws and shit, I’m sorry y’all. 

I live in the middle of the outbreak in Italy and I'm losing so many university hours because of the virus... also people are stupid and keep going out even though the government put rules to prevent people from exiting. Basically the whole Italy is in quarantine and people keep trying to make up excuses to go out and I'm afraid that the quarantine will be extended bc of their stupidity

Sett Well tbh california is a super populated state in comparison to the rest of the states in America, so I think just because of how many people here, we have a higher chance of spreading it XB

I mean-you're not entirely wrong when it comes to the stereotype of the beach, almost everyone here loves going there and I'm only 2 1/2 hours away from it, so it's a nice thing to do. But I will say that the whole surfer stereotype isn't fully true, but man you will see some people that are like the walking stereotype for it out there on the waves XD

I was out for two weeks already [ end of semester break ] before they decided to shut down all schools, but now the govt. has decided to call it 'april vacation' and add at least a week of closure.

Last night I went out to eat as a last time before they make everything drive-thru / closed and they had every other table closed - they also had no silverware / sauces on the table, and instead used a pretty smart way of giving individual packets / disposable to avoid 20 something people grabbing the same syrup and transmitting. 

// I am a lil worried since my mom works as a cashier and handles a lot of money, she uses lots of hand sanitize already but I'd hope she'd wear gloves too

Also I'm so sorry to ya'll that are asian and are having to deal with the racism, ya'll don't deserve any of it!
