I work/study from home already, woo!
I wanna vent and rant about it tbh, and the other thread says not to bring up vents so feel free to block me and/or this thread.
A few basic helpful bits:
- Wash your hands regularly.
- Don’t touch your face.
- Use alcohol hand sanitiser.
- Use gloves + mask (n95 is best).
- Disinfect phones, door handles, keyboards + mice daily.
- Try to stay at least 6 feet from strangers.
- Always wash your hands before eating.
- Check the CDC website for updates.
Only rule: Don’t spread misinformation about the virus itself. That’s it, if you “read it somewhere” provide the source so others may conclude what they want from it. This threads supposed to be to vent about the stuff going on right now, not as a source of information.

Good news: I'm staying home
Bad news: They' cancelled everything I love like the fair and my gaming club after school
Worse news: I need to graduate and at this rate they're gonna give me my diploma in the mail
Worst news: They're probably gonna cancel the last convention I'm going to in this state bc im moving at the end of may
my states governor extended school closures to april 28th and our school district has no universal online learning system put in place. our seniors are fucked and so are the rest of us if our summer break is cut a whole month due to incompetence.🙃
Fuck the Coronavirus. Our borders are closed. My family is in an entirely different country. I can't go home to them. I can't see them. I can't reach them. Even if they need me.
My mom is a health worker whose in her 60's, and I'm fucking freaking out because I'm worried sick about her. She works in a university hospital, the most vital in our city. My dad is also older then my mother but able to work at home.
I'm so scared for them...
The town that I live an hour away from, is now considering a shelter in place. My town might follow next. Can I just bang some pots and pans while yelling hell state? Please?
Lol, my college just shut down and is going fully online for the rest of the semester. I have to move out of my dorm by the first. I'm really bummed out about it. I love my dorm and im gonna miss my friends a lot. My bday is coming up soon too and I wont be able to do anything unless all this bullshit ends soon. :) Please find a cure soon @scientists
They better give me a damn refund too. I had over half of the money on my meal plan left and I lived in one of the more expensive dorms on campus and now theyre kicking us out suddenly.
Im a big shut in as is, and now that im FORCED to stay at home 24/7 im dreading it. It sucks. I miss being at college. I had so many plans that have been thrown down the drain....

I'm actually kinda glad this thread is here... of course everyone's in the same boat and it's just like screaming into a cup at this point, but it helps.
A week before the shut downs, my job fired me because I was sick 'too many times' and my 'behaviour wasn't improving'; what behaviour? What does my being home sick- with an upper respiratory infection and strep throat- have to do with 'behaviour'?! And to rub salt into the wound, now they're telling everyone to stay home and paying them to. They literally fucked me out of my annual bonus I was planning on using to move back to California where my significant other and family all are.
I'd just interviewed for a new job, nailed the interview and it was promising... until they put a hiring freeze up the day after my interview. I haven't heard back since...
And lastly, when I move back, (if I still even can... crossing my fingers that my plane isn't cancelled and I can still just... get home to my family and loved ones), there's a mandatory shelter in place going on until April, possibly later. Going out is a misdemeanor. I guess I'll just be stuck at the airport...?
Well my brother has been quarantined on the military base. My family is torn apart right now with no way of reuniting due to lock down. Fuck this stupid freaking virus.
